The ongoing story of the people aboard the S.S. Calmwaters

Being suddenly shaken out of the mood, she tilted her head slightly, although quite not nearly enough to be facing ZetsumeiRyu. "Heh." She let out. "Whatever makes you sleep at night." Meta replied, and it wasn't even in a heavily sneering tone, although it had a hint of sarcasm somewhere in the back of the sound of it. "How are you doing, brother?"
Narrowing his eyes, Malvettix dashed away from the blast, gliding across the ground with black afterimages trailing behind him. As he did this, his shadow remained in place, the remaining snakes snapping at Matt.
"Daaaaaaaaah-!" Brandishing a sudden hammer, plated with gold, Matt swung, knocking aside the snakes with a resounding impact. Gritting his teeth, he drew back the hammer. "Malvettix!" Another swing and he released the hammer-it spun clumsily through the air right at the dark creature.
Huh. Malvettix kept his eye on the hammer charging to meet him in violent collision. He doesn't seem too pleased to see me. Stopping in place, he leapt straight up, just as the hammer smashed into the earth, cracking it.
Hugo scampered around the front of the car just as Malvettix took to the sky. "Gotcha, you bastard!" His pickaxe let out a muffled noise as it always did, firing a white-hot shell at the dark one's chest. Malvettix answered by bending his coat about him, and it changed to resemble a demonic wing that shrugged off the attack.
R.D. leapt back, landing next to X, his hand glowing again with erratic rays of colored light. His eyes narrowed as he thrust his hand forward at Malvettix, and he said to his newest companion, "Let's make these shots count."
The brilliant sphere of light known as the Sunburst erupted from his hand, streaking through the air at Malvettix, and the orb fired a concentrated beam of light at the being as it closed in.
X nodded silently, releasing his charged shot at the enemy.
Malvettix allowed himself a slight frown. Annoying fools. Landing, he flattened his palm on the ground, calling his shadow back toward him. As the shadow returned to its origins, flat blades erupted from the darkness, spreading until they formed a curved wall to shield from the incoming attacks.
I'll have to keep them busy...
Malvettix raised a hand, and snapped his fingers. I need to stall them for a while longer...and besides...
He couldn't help but grin at the battle he was about to set in motion. I must fight my other one more time before we rip the Core from his soul!
Helena's eyes widened as she noticed something wrong. "Matt, look at the wall!" she shouted, pointing.
Matt now looked at it, sharp and looming, and with increasing shock, he saw blackness drip foward from the blades, landing on the group and reforming into the familiar Heartless. "Damn it, not this again!"
"Dammit, more of these freaks," R.D. growled, thrusting his sword into the ground before chambering both of his fists back. Plasma energy gathered into his gloved fists, causing them to shine brightly. With an angry cry, he thrust his fists out, one after the other, and launched two large blast waves of plasma. The second one slammed into the first, causing it to shine brightly as they combined into a single large blast. The combined plasma burst streaked through the air at the Heartless, diving into the center of the horde and causing a powerful explosion that sent energized waves in all directions.
R.D. stepped forward as the blast exploded, and leapt high into the air using his Lumiya-enhanced strength. Having taken the Phase Blade up again, he swept the sword overhead and shot down, his blade cleaving the air, at Malvettix.
"Oh, I've been better." ZetsumeiRyu said in a sigh. "I'm getting rather tired of following you around all the time. To be frank, it's quite dull." He said with apathy. "So," he stared as he walked over to Meta, "how are you, sister? Still trying to come up with a way to take down our father?" He asked apathetically.

"I'm doing rather well. Better than last time you paid me a visit at the oasis." Meta replied. "And no, I am not still trying to come up with a way to take down our father." She continued, then cocking her head backwards to look at her draconic brother, having an upside-down vision of him. "Kinda stopped trying to do that." She said with half a smirk.

"Nice one!" Hugo laughed.
What?! Malvettix brought his arm in front of him, to shield his eyes from the the light of the explosion that soaked through the gaps within his wall of blades. Dammit...looks like the other one will be more of a problem this time. I'll have to get him out of the way first...
He looked up to see R.D. overhead, brandishing the Phase Blade, and in return he summoned his black-bladed scythe. Holding it high with one hand, the staff clashed with the blade, crackling with black electricity.
"I have no business with you," Malvettix said. As he spoke, the ends of his coat stretched thin, twirling about on a point in the air until they resembled cones made out of a single strip of paper. Then, they spun rapidly, like drills. "Get out of my way."
"Well, even though I am not planning on putting a sword through father's abdomen right now, I just really want to get rid of these giant abominations he employs." She said to her brother. "I really don't trust those guys. Even less now it appears to me that they are actually good guys, but in more... freakish forms." She went on, trying to explain how she felt about the Seven. "And what have you been up to?" She then asked in return.
R.D. growled, suspended in the air as the Phase Blade hit the dark scythe's haft. Grunting, he pushed around Malvettix and launched off a ways to the side, landing easily and readying himself for the next attack. R.D. lowered his head slightly, his face betraying no emotion to Malvettix. "No," he said, drawing the other Phase Blade as another recovered memory surfaced. He quickly deactivated the first sword and crossed the weapons over each other between the spaces of the haft and crystal. With a scissoring motions of his hands, R.D. activated the Phase Blades simultaneously, and with a muted flash of light, the weapon had combined into something different.
The hilt of the new weapon was longer, as was its blade, nearly one and a half times longer than the original weapons. Its blade was three times as wide, and the crystalline azure blade of the Phase Scythe greatsword shone in the morning light. The amnesiac teen spun the weapon around in his right hand effortlessly, and as he did, the Dragon King Armor materialized on his body. The cobalt, violet-blue and silver-blue armor shone on his body, and the cylindrical cannons appeared on his shoulders, folded back. Two more cylindrical cannons were mounted on his hips, the barrels and stocks folded down.
As the Phase Scythe completed its revolution, R.D. had it resting on his shoulder, lying on its back edge. The dark visor slid into place, and R.D. readied himself for the next round. "I'm right where I belong, standing between you and Matt."
"Hmph." ZetsumeiRyu let out. "Just following you." He replied, and then was silent for a moment. "You're insane, y'know." He said with a small smirk. "You may have defeated Electra, but the worst is yet to come. You still have six more to battle, one of which is Carnax, the most powerful of them all, and undoubtedly one of the most powerful beings in existance." He shook his head a little, and continued. "If you continue this foolish quest you will leave me no choice but to destroy you." He said coldly, and then rose up. He looked down at Meta, and spoke once more. "You're good, Meta, but you've never fought anything like me." He said just before vanishing in a cloud of darkness.

Meta smirked as her brother disappeared again. She cocked her head back to look straight again. "No, I haven't." She said to the dark and cold night air. "But you'll be surprised when I have beaten all of those beasties." She added with a smilish grin that flashed her white teeth in a manner that probably would've made her family proud of her, but in an ungood, evil way.
"Is that right?" Wearing a pointed smirk, Malvettix lowered his scythe, levelled the spear point on the end at his opponent. "No matter where you stand...events will unfold as planned. He and I will always meet in battle...and I refuse to die by anyone else's hands." Stabbing the air, a line of explosive dark energy shot foward along the ground. As it approached R.D. it widened, until a blind mouth bearing rows of fangs rose from the wave. "Nightmare Fang!"
Though R.D.'s earlier attack had cleared out a good chunk of the Heartless, they still poured from the wall of blades Malvettix had constructed. Now, along with the basic shadows and the helmeted soldiers, tall, thin Heartless emerged brandishing nastier-looking claws. The numbers continued to grow at a steady pace.
Matt lightly jumped off the hood of the Firebird, clenching his fists. He glared at the wall of blades and the Heartless that guarded it. "All right, here's the plan," he said, glancing to Helena. "You, X, and Hugo keep the Heartless numbers down. I'm gonna go over there and kick some personal ass."
Helena had seen how angry Matt looked earlier. "Matt, I think I should come."
"This is my business, not yours," he answered. "Stay back and clear the Heartless."
"Matt-" Helena began, but he had already shot off toward Malvettix, the wind booming.
"Earth Gaizer!" R.D.'s massive sword came down like an azure blur, striking the ground hard as he channeled Earth energy through the weapon. The ground in front of him exploded up and forward, like a large wave of rock, slamming into the mouth and blasting it apart. The large mass of stone was already crumbling, and R.D.'s armored form burst out of it, propelled by the dash thrusters in his boots. His blade flashed out at Malvettix in several rapid slashes, his weapon striking like a fluid snake. The wind seeming to whistle as the Phase Scythe cut through it.

Meta tilted her head a little to the side, but did not turn to look at away, instead preferring to just sit in place and let her take in the warm rays of the rising morning sun. "Well, it was quite nice, I gotta say." She answered Awai, if it even had been a real question needing answering. "Have you got any brothers?" She then asked casually on a whim when the thought entered her head.
"No." Awai replied as he looked down at Meta. "But, sense I was simply made, and not actually born, it is impossible for me to have any siblings." He added. He was silent for a moment, and then walked over to the left of Meta. "Tell me," he started, his voice somewhat bland, "why are you trying to defeat The Seven?"
X simply did as he was told.
Meta did not reply for a while, instead just looking about the land, the crater, the sky filled with golden and bloody red morning light, a faint image of the moon visible to the west, and allowing what little wind there was to blow through her hair. Then, finally, she opened her mouth, and it nearly seemed as if she was about to sigh instead of answer, but yet she did answer. "Because I felt like it." She said.
Malvettix shot foward, black afterimages trailing behind him, and his scythe met R.D.'s sword in combat. It seemed to be everywhere, blocking a slash, then flipping over to block a high attack. Brimming with dark power, staff locked with blade, and Malvettix advanced.
"Out of my way!" From his shadow, nightmarish armor-plated serpents rose, bearing sharp plates all over their body, and rose to medium height. Their tawny eyes glowed, and they opened their jaws, firing black beams of power. "Demon Artillery!"

OOC: Well, no. They're just nightmarish-type creatures.
R.D. grunted as a several of the beams slammed into his body, leaving scorch marks across his armor. He dug his feet into the ground to prevent himself from moving as the two of them locked their weapons above them. Growling at each painful impact of the beams, R.D. targeted Malvettix on his interface, and the two hip cannons unfolded. With a hollow boom, both cannons fired concussive rounds at Malvettix at nearly point blank range.
The cannon rounds tore into Malvettix, and black blood sprayed the air. Eyes widened, he forced himself back, and raised his left hand, fingers curled. In a gesture R.D. had seen before, black particles flowed to the dark one's hand.
"Dark Blast!" A beam of darkness exploded from Malvettix's extended palm, fierce and powerful like Matt's Megaton Cannon.
