Reckoning & Dokuro flew over the seas heading toward the S.S. Calmwaters. On their way to the ship they saw a few battles taking place between two types of beasts: Gan and Sea Serpents. From what they could tell it seemed like the serpents were making a serious comeback. They were strategizing far better than the Gan, and were claiming victory time and time again.
"This really is the Dark Apocalypse Kuro spoke of." Ryan thought aloud as he continued on his way.
Moments later the two arrived on the S.S. Calmwaters. There were a few crew members who remembered the last time Reckoning appeared on deck, and weren't too quick to believe that he was only there to keep watch over Kouken. But, after a brief chat and the mentioning of Awai's message they let him and Dokuro pass.
"Dokuro, mind if I ask you something?"
"No. Unless it has to do with Coca-Cola." Dokuro replied, and then smiled widely.
"Okay..." Ryan said with an arched brow as he walked beside the necromancer. "What's with the one name? I mean, is Dokuro just what you choose to go by, or is that the name you've always had?"
Dokuro laughed a little, and then stopped in front of Kouken's door. "Now, if I told you that it'd kill a part of my mystery."
~E.D.C. Boardroom~
The next person to enter was Chen, the oldest Balance of Light in appearance. Chen was Light Balance over the Shertel dimension, counterpart to Alexandria. Chen wore a white Kung Fu uniform trimmed in silver. He had a shaved head, and a long white beard that went down to about the middle of his torso. He looked to be around 60-years-old, but was in good physical shape. Chen was the most powerful Balance of Light after Serenade, but even so he was a humble man. The last Light Balance took his place across from Alexandria, and then in came the one who called the meeting in the first place, the Supreme Darkness, as they called him.
"Thank you all for coming." The Supreme Darkness said as he removed his hand from the back pocket on his black slacks.
Serenade, seeing her counterpart, casually walked over to him and then everyone present stood in respect of the Supreme Balances.
"I see we are short one dimension. Where are Azaleas and Jade of Ventrč?" The Supreme Darkness asked.
"Don't look at me." Said Gyro. "I stopped traveling there when Shigurei got killed."
The Supreme Darkness sighed heavily, and then moved to his seat at the end of the table with Serenade at his side. He sat down at the left side of the table nearest to the Dark Balances, and Serenade sat to his left near the Light Balances. As the two took their seats all the Balances sat down. "Well, we haven't time to wait for them. So, let us begin. Is there any new business that the E.D.C. should be informed of before I start?"
"Lament," Serenade said, addressing the Supreme Dark Balance. "Now is not the time to be polite. Say what it is you need to say."
"Very well." Lament said with a nod. "Fellow members of the Eight Dimension Council, something has happened that disturbs me greatly, and it has happened right here, in the Nexus." At that moment everyone, even Chen & Serenade, felt very uneasy about what Lament was going to say next. Lament was by far one of the most powerful beings in existence, for something to trouble him so much that he would call a meeting like this the event must have been something truly frightening. "Not long ago I was patrolling the Nexus, as usual, and I came across some rather familiar beings. These names may be unfamiliar to the newer members of the E.D.C., but I am certain that Awai, if no one else will recognize them."
"Someone from the Beta dimension?" Awai asked, appearing rather surprised.
"Yes. The creatures known as Legion and Carnax."
"What?!" Awai, Spyke, Serenade and Chen exclaimed all at once.
Awai's attention shifted to Spyke suddenly, a confused look on his face. "You know of Carnax and Legion?"
"Of course. Kuro was my role model. I read every book on him and his works that I could get my hands on. I even traveled to Beta a time or two to get more information." Spyke said with a sideways smile.
"Lament, what do you think they were doing in the Nexus?" Chen asked with a raspy voice.
"I'm not sure. But they were coming from Ventrč." Lament replied.
"And where did they go?" Serenade asked.
"They entered a portal to Beta."
"Hold on! If I recall accurately Shigurei created beasts identical to The Seven Beast of the Dark Apocalypse, which Kuro made. Could it be that they were the Legion and Carnax of Ventrč?" Awai asked, obviously a little scared about what he was saying.
"That's possible. Or, there is an even worse scenario."
"Worse than having two Carnax's and two Legion's in one dimension?" Chen asked.
"The Beasts from Beta could be allying themselves with the Beasts of Ventrč." Lament said with a steady tone.
The room fell silent, and the five who knew of the creatures contemplated the horror that would follow if that was the case. If The 7 from Ventrč and The 7 of Beta joined forces there would be no one in either dimension who could stop them; the E.D.C. would have to intervene.
"Awai, I need you to keep watch over Carnax and Legion for a while. Don't engage them, just watch them and see if they do anything out of the ordinary, and if they travel to the Nexus again." Said Lament.
"Of course." Awai said with a nod.
"Gyro, I would like you to go to Ventrč and see if you can find Jade and/or Azaleas. Once you do send them to me."
"What if I don't find them?" Gyro asked plainly.
"Come back within two days. If you see anything that's notably strange report back to me or Mistress Serenade."
"Sure thing." Gyro replied, sounding very relaxed.
"Now, the table is open to new business."
