Matt cried out as he hit the ground over and over. Okay, on the count of three-

"Grapple Option!"

The grapple burst up from behind the Baron and clamped around its bare head. Hugo pulled with a shout. Matt glanced past the Baron's feet-the grapple had shot up from another hole in the ground.

Helena narrowly swiped to the side, unloading another heavy swing at the Baron's face.

Though Hugo's trick was clever, the Mettaur's strength, without the full output of the G-Stone, was inferior to that of a Baron of Hell. The demon stayed upright, though it growled angrily as its head was yanked backwards, causing it to halt its assault on Matt for a brief moment.

The second one stepped back as Helena swung at it, somehow deftly avoiding the attack despite its hulking form. As the girl overcorrected from her attack, the Baron of Hell lifted up its claw to strike--and promptly noticed the raging maelstrom that was growing above Alasea, who fell to one knee as the power grew to be too much for her to control properly. It was spinning faster than a hurricane, spraying particles of weird light across the room as the blazing nexus at its core was repeatedly obscured by the raging, colored mists. It was as if a universe was being born above the Daughter of Dawn's sacred blade. With a furious roar, the Baron of Hell turned to face Alasea fully, gathering plasma into its claw. The girl seemed to whisper.

And suddenly, just like that, the maelstrom collapsed.

Sucked into an invisible point, the maelstrom disappeared in an instant--the room shook as a sonic boom struck, and thousands upon thousands of lightning bolts erupted in a violent display, right where the maelstrom had existed less than a second before. The destructive bolts tore through the air and into the Barons of Hell, stabbing into every inch of flesh and erupting out the other side.

Unable to withstand such power, both demons exploded, showering the room with blood and gore--Alasea fell back as blood coated her, splashing suddenly on both Helena, Matt, and Hugo. Not even Ileyna, who had taken cover on the far side of the Essence's chamber, was spared, as the red fluid splashed and stained her white and blue dress. The gore that struck the shielding sizzled and burned.

And yet the terrible lightning was not finished. It continued to pour out of ground zero, scouring through the doors. Thousands upon thousands of bolts split up at various points, shredding through the air as each one hunted a demon. Tiny, potent explosions ripped through air as they passed, marking the deadly path the bolts had traveled. Each bolt struck a monster, killing them instantly as the power overloaded their bodies and caused them to detonate. Dozens were killed within the first twelve seconds of the attack, and the rest of the monsters knew something had happened. Many halted their attacks and fled--it was futile. The bolts traveled faster, unleashing death on swift wings.

Soldiers everywhere stared and fear and wonder as the battle within Aube halted in seconds, their foes utterly obliterated by vengeful lightning and fire.

===Central Command, Aube===

"... sir, you're not going to believe this!" one of the technicians cried. "We're getting dozens of reports from everywhere in the base!"

"What? What's going on?" the General demanded.

"They're saying that the monsters have all been destroyed!" another technician shouted. "They're saying lightning swept through the base and destroyed every single demon in site!"

"Bringing the displays of the interiors up now!" a female tech shouted. General Dagenais looked up at the screen, which was filled with numerous windows--everywhere in the base, through once-pristine halls to massacred chambers, rooms were covered in blood and lingering fire and ash. Stupidly, soldiers on the screen looked about as if in a daze, their black armor and uniforms painted a fine red. But it was as the reports said--in not one screen were there any traces of demons.

"What in the world?" he muttered.

A few moments passed.

"JESUS CHRIST, what the fuck was that?!" Matt screeched.

Section R-1

Patterson was sitting in a corner, flinched, ready to feel a fatal blow from an imp that penetrated their defenses and he was caught reloading. Then nothing. Patterson opened his eyes hesitantly when everything was being destroyed by some lightning that shot from the ceiling, destroying the demons in an instant. Nothing was left now. Patterson looked to Officer Jared, blankly. He dropped his weapon.

"What happened?" Was all he could whisper.

Alasea simply fell back against the damaged barricade, in the only dry spot--dry, because the blood that would've struck it struck her instead. She closed her eyes for a bit and dropped her sword to the floor. Raising her hands, she snapped her wrists down, flinging the blood off of them. Behind the Essence's download station, they could hear Ileyna retching.

"Reckless Fire," was all Alasea said.

===Sector R-1===

"Beats me, sir," Jared said, looking around. After a moment, he deactivated the beam blades of his Trikeros rifle's bayonet, and the Will Knife.

He looked around, ignoring the blood now coating his black and white armor. "Guess we better report."

===Central Command, Aube===

As Jared reported in, the General observed the battle, noting that the sensors no longer detected any kind of enemy presence within the facility--that much had been halted. But this was far from over.

"Stay sharp, everyone," he commanded, looking at the main view screen. "We're not done here. We still need to destroy that Cyraeth and secure air superiority."

"Yes sir!"

"Sir! We've got another incoming bogey!" cried one of the officers monitoring the outside battle.

===Level 9-A Hanger Entrance, Aube===

R.D. skid to a stop outside, at the edge of the runway. The sound of war was deafening, with the roars of Devil Dragons competing with the roars of the Falkens' engines, the sounds of heat beams and plasma fire as they streaked across the sky. Above, the mutant Cyraeth hovered over the sky like a green-skinned nightmare.

R.D. braced himself as a Falken, its back end on fire, careened through the air and exploded against the ground next to the runway. Above, he could see two Devil Dragons fly off, only for the laser beams of a KARASAWA rifle pierce through them, felling them in an instant.

He grit his teeth. He needed end this.

"TAMARAN!!!"

===Area K, Innerpeace===

After a moment or two of expanding her consciousness, Seril could only detect one other lifeform--the Magma Dragon from before. After their consciousnesses touched again, he too, sensing her need, expanded his consciousness. There was nothing to feel.

Which was strange, the dragon decided. Being what they were, attuned to life and nature, dragons had incredibly sharp instincts. Yet hers told her nothing--that could only mean that the uneasiness that Gatz felt was something more of his kind.

She felt uneasy at that thought herself.

===Newport, Great Britain===

"Tch."

Michael flicked his used cigarette onto the rooftop and stepped on it, crushing it into the concrete. "I hate it when they don't follow directions. Now look what's happened.

Overhead, the mutant Cyraeth continued its slow glide, casting its ominous shadow over that of Donovan's.

Listen to me, K'ril Zhatsuroth, Michael said telepathically. Either retreat now, or quit playing around. Don't disobey me again.

(OOC: "Areak K"? Really?)

There was a short sigh. "You have got to be kidding me," Michael muttered in irritation, resting his forehead against his hand. "Knew today was gonna be a bad day."

Pulling out another cigarette and lighting it, Michael concentrated, causing a magic circle of dark violet light to spread out from his feet, rotating slowly on the rooftop. "Well, better get a Lesser Dimensional Transport ready," he said, puffing smoke from his mouth.

===Area K, Innerpeace===

Seril noted the flames that rose up beside her, but otherwise did nothing except turn to face the entity that came forth from it. The dragon raised one eyebrow almost imperceptibly in response to Cora's question as she examined her.

However, she remained silent, instead changing her expression to one of indifference and disdain for the fire demon. This one was beneath her.

Seril's head ducked slightly, her eyes glaring, as Cora attacked--flexing her hand, red flame exploded down her arm and into her hand, extending outward as she swung it up. The first couple of blows were deflected by the Dragonblade, now repaired from the battle with the Divinity Unit.

Sparks flew as the three blades struck, contrasting to the dark colors of the weapons. Pivoting gracefully out of the way of the attack aimed at her thigh, Seril brought her blade up to bear in a ready stance. Her expression was impassive, showing that Cora's appearance and words had no effect on her.

One of you, come quick, Seril communicated to the Ancients through a Dragon Magic spell. One of our enemies has arrived.

Helena walked over to Ileyna and sank to her knees next to her. Her claws gently laid on the young girl's shoulders. "It's okay, Ileyna," she whispered. "You're gonna be fine."

Hugo powered down as Matt sat up. "Ugh," Matt said. "What a mess."

"Sorry," Ileyna muttered weakly, wiping her mouth with her clean hand.

"No, I should be sorry," Alasea spoke up, pushing herself up using the remains of the barricade. "I--nngh--I had no idea that Reckless Fire would be that powerful. I still haven't mastered controlling my powers."

A holographic window appeared at one end of the room, widening up to reveal the same woman who had spoken to them when the download vault had emptied into the Barricade Chamber. "Are you all right?" she asked, looking a bit pale at the devastation in the room.

"We're fine," Alasea said. "What about the rest of the base?"

"We're getting reports that all enemy combatants within the premises of the facility have been neutralized. Whatever you guys did, it worked."

Alasea sighed in relief.

"The battle isn't over yet, so don't relax," the female officer warned. "A mutated Cyraeth has appeared, and the enemy air forces are still attacking. And we've detecting another incoming bogey on our radar."

===Donovan's Throne===

"Yeah, he's with me," Michael suddenly said, materializing from seemingly nowhere on top of the cage. Somehow, his body seemed bright in the shadowy recesses of Donovan's lair, as if he was standing out in plain daylight. He still had his cigarette in his mouth. "I'm his master."

===Area K, Innerpeace===

Instead of striking against Seril's Dragonblade, Cora's two katanas struck against a glowing barrier made up of interweaving, wavy lines of magic spreading out in a half-sphere in front of the dragon, emanating from in front of her palm. The force of the attacks knocked back a ways, but she remained on her feet.

As the barrage ended, Seril straightened up and swung her blade out low to her side, looking at Cora without expression.

"I'm too old for this," Matt said.

"Wash us down, Matt," Hugo said. Matt lifted his hand and summoned a strong indoor rainstorm, soaking them instantly.

Helena cried out in surprise. "Hey! Warn me before you do that!"

"Everyone wash off," Hugo said. "I'd rather be wet than covered in blood."

Ileyna and Alasea also yelped at the sudden downpour, soaking through their clothes. Instinctively, Alasea brought her arms up over her chest and glared at Matt before using her own power to dry herself and cut off the rainstorm.

If the officer was at any bit perturbed by such happenings, she gave no sign of it--all she did was finish her report and shut off the holographic screen. Alasea looked about the room, and finally settled on the useless material flung about all over the place as material for her transmutation.

"I'm going to see if I can open up a screen to the outside," she announced, holding out her hands towards the various pools of blood and gore. As she channeled her powers, blood began lifting up off the floor, warping and changing into a liquid-like mist that gathered into a sideways pool floating in the air. Not all of the blood was transmuted for the scrying spell, leaving a good deal of the room a bloody mess, but it was enough. Reaching out with her spirit, she willed away the mists, and within, they could see the scenes of battle erupting outside.

The screen seemed to center its view on a single figure clad in blue armor rushing out of a hanger. Alasea opened her eyes to see.

It was R.D..

===Island of Aube===

The clouds were shredded apart as something gigantic, long and metallic, burst through them, unleashing a powerful roar into the skies. Many of the Devil Dragons looked about as they flew when the roar sounded, and quickly spotted the mecha dragon hurtling through the air--along with numerous other winged creatures trailing behind it.

Tamaran's jaws snapped forward and closed down on the nearest Devil Dragon, crushing it in an instant before throwing its bloody carcass away. Behind him, the other dragons broke off and entered the fray, unleashing their breath weapons against the demons scouring the air. Tamaran loosed another roar, this time with a bright, silvery-blue light erupting from his maw--the Crystalis Aura that made the Devil Dragons screech as they flew out of that baleful light.

"Alright!" R.D. shouted, grinning as the mecha dragon shot towards him. Godhand exploded around his fist, and he smashed it into the end of the runway, cracking it as the force propelled him up into the air. His body started to blaze with that same unreal light, covering his armored form completely.

"FUSION!"

His fist shining with immense power, he flipped over backwards and exploded into a sphere of Crystalis light. Tamaran flew up behind him and snapped his jaws around the light, swallowing him whole. Immediately, the transformation began--Tamaran's head and the tip of his tail flying off, the neck and tail shifting and forming legs, the claws and talons combining into arms, as armor shifted and reconfigured, allowing the head and tail tip to embed themselves into the torso.

The metallic, helmeted head with the smooth metal face emerged, glaring out with yellow eyes beneath the crowning blue Ao-Gem in its forehead. The mechanoid swung out a glowing fist as R.D. and Tamaran linked into one.

"Doragon!"

"Oh ho!" Matt said, inching closer to the screen. "I didn't know R.D. had THAT hanging around here."

Rodeo halted his Nine-Breaker's movements and turned to face to the new mechanoid on the battlefield. "Damn!" he shouted. "What the hell is that thing!?"

Waves of green heat beams coming in forced him to break off and resume battle. Firing his KARASAWA at the incoming Devil Dragons, he spoke back into the comm. "Shit, man! That kid wasn't kidding, was he?"

"Hell no!" Chico shouted, flying up towards Rodeo while adding his mech's firepower to Rodeo's defense. The missile pod opened up and unleashed a salvo of rockets at the incoming swarm, blanketing them with fire. More burst through the curtain of flames, forcing the two of them to break off and retreat. "Dammit, I'm running out of ammo! Cover me, Rodeo!"

Doragon's thrusters ignited, veering him out of the way of incoming heat beams. As the Devil Dragons swooped in, the claws mounted on Doragon's forearms flipped pack into position, and he slashed out, cleaving one of them into thirds. Flying upwards, he continued lashing out at nearby enemies, trying to clear a descent path. Within the chamber of light, R.D. saw a warning appear on one of the holographic window screens, and he looked to the side.

It was only a quick acceleration that saved him, as the Cyraeth fired an intense beam of energy through the air--readouts told him that the energy had been more than enough to rip through the D-Armament and the Barrier System. The Cyraeth vessel was powering up another shot, and R.D. grit his teeth. Doragon's power wouldn't be enough to take this thing down.

"That's okay, I have more than just this!" R.D. shouted. "Dragon Spirits!"

===Central Command, Aube===

"Sir, we're detecting three incoming bogeys coming in from multiple directions! Closest one... jesus, its coming up right from beneath the island!"

"What?" the General demanded. "Is it an enemy!?"

"Doesn't look like it, sir! We're getting a clear reading from the IFF!"

"One of them is approaching from the sea! Its near the underwater hangers!" said one officer.

"Third bogey inbound! Its coming from the sky above the mass driver!"

===Download Vault's Barricade Chamber, Aube===

As they watched, Alasea suddenly shrieked and fell as the ground began to rumble violently, as if something was burrowing up through the ground nearby.

"W-what was that!?" Ileyna demanded, looking around fearfully.

On the mist screen, they could see something erupting from the ground, tearing through it--a gold-plated dragon's head erupted from the soil, followed by a white and blue body. GaiaDraken ripped free from the ground and took to the air, rocketing up right at Doragon. Elsewhere, the oceans exploded, with a similar machine coming out of the waters as it too sped for Doragon. Up above, the clouds were once again pierced as another metallic white dragon, much different from the others, swooped in towards R.D.'s mechanoid.

"What's he doing?" Helena asked, pulling herself up.

Matt peered over his glasses, brow furrowed. "I think I've got an idea."

Great, they're here, R.D. thought, registering the notifications appearing in Doragon's control systems. Let's get this party started!

Lights shone within the optics units of all four machines, and from Doragon's chest, the draconic face of Tamaran roared.

"HYPER FUSION!"

Silver-blue light erupted from various points on Doragon's body as he throw his arms outwards. High up in the air, above the raging battle, Doragon spun, blazing Crystalis, like azure flame, issuing from Tamaran's mouth. It raged and burned through the air, smashing away and incinerating the incoming enemies as they tried to attack. It formed a sphere of blue fire, contrasting against the pale green ugliness of the Cyraeth vessel.

The Dragon Spirits cut through the air and one by one, each one pierced through the flame. Within, they once again began to dock, GaiaDraken and AquaDraken splitting in half, as the lower halves reconfigured and fit over Doragon's legs, the upper halves joining together with Doragon's arms and shoulders, mouths opening up to reveal silver claws. SkyDraken shot up and latched to the mechanoid's back, folding in wings and locking into place as claws gripped shoulders and waist. A helmet slammed down into place over Doragon's head, a faceplate closing over its mouth and the Ao-Gem moving into place.

Eyes blazed with light, and the Crystalis flame was blown away as the Super Mechanoid's fists smashed together as it spun in the air, lashing out with its tail.

"Kishou... DO... RA... GON!!!"

"Just as I figured!" Matt piped up. "It's this world's version of GaoGaiGar."

"It must be powered by the Ao-Gem," Hugo said. "Hope he can clean up out there and keep the invaders off of our backs for a while."

Roars of defiance from dozens of Devil Dragons was what answered KishouDoragon's return. Many of them broke off from combat to assault the new threat--their Master had learned of KishouDoragon from its creation, and that knowledge was passed down to His minions. They knew the threat such a terrible weapon posed. Many of the attacking monstrosities were struck down in flight as the Falkens, Nine-Balls, and Nine-Breakers, seeing chances appear all over the place, unleashed their laser weaponry on them.

As they rushed up to do battle with the Drake of Braves, light gathered within the central red crystal embedded into the flesh of the mutant vessel hovering in the air. As it flared up, the sensors in KishouDoragon picked it up, alerting R.D. to the imminent attack. "Like that will work," he muttered.

An intense beam of dark crimson pierced through the skies with sudden force, shooting up at the white robot. The red glow was reflected by the pure white armor, and KishouDoragon reared its left arm back, the golden dragon-head unlocking. Thrusting the arm out, the head unit jutted forward, mouth agape, crest flaring, and hand spread.

"Sanctum Roar!"

A powerful barrier of sound erupted from from KishouDoragon's left hand, blasting outwards into a distorted shield. With a terrible crash, the beam struck it and fought to break through, to strike down the Drake of Braves. But it held on, and suddenly it lashed out, a wave of sonic energy tearing the beam apart and blasting back at the Cyraeth--many of the incoming Devil Dragons were caught in its path, and crushed instantly. It continued to shred through the air, only to smash against a blazing barrier of light that formed in front of the Cyraeth. Deafening sound erupted from the clash, as light was generated by the two competing powers.

It exploded, leaving the Cyraeth unharmed. Within the cockpit of Nine-Breaker, Raven grit his teeth in irritation--that barrier always made killing these things so damn difficult. A warning on his radar alerted him to sudden movement.

KishouDoragon plummeted down through the skies, carried on great flames issued from its wings' back thrusters. Rearing its right arm back, the gold-plated head unit of GaiaDraken began to glow red-hot, and then white-hot. And then it began to glow blue, as immense amounts of Crystalis were infused into its frame.

"Genocide Blazer!"

Punching forward with its right fist, the superheated projectile erupted off of its forearm, blazing down through the air at the Cyraeth. It too smashed against the barrier, but its thrusters kept firing, and its aura of Crystalis pulsed rapidly against it. Suddenly, without warning, the barrier failed, and the Genocide Blazer shot through the gap, searing down and smashing hard into the flesh of the front edge of its left wing. Blood and fire exploded as it cut through, the heat having easily sheared through its defense.

As the explosion rocked the creature, causing an eerie moan of pain from the beast, a cry rose up from the troops.

"Yeah! All RIGHT!" Leon shouted, pumping a fist in the cockpit of his Nine-Breaker. "Kick its ass, kid!"

===Central Command, Aube===

"Amazing," Patrick whispered, staring in shock. That thing had just cut through one of most powerful defensive systems they had ever seen, almost as if it was nothing. How could something mechanical hold so much raw power?

The screen showed as KishouDoragon continued its battle with the behemoth. The golden projectile it had fired shot up and returned to its main body, and the robot immediately aimed both arms forward at the creature. From the optic units of Tamaran, GaiaDraken, and AquaDraken, azure rays of Crystalis blasted out, shooting through the air at the main body of the creature. Patrick frowned--could it get past the main body's ultimate protection?

As luck would have it, the Infernal Gaze couldn't. Bright light flared out from the center of the beast, warping in shape until it molded across the main body in its entirety, and the silver-blue beams glanced off of it harmlessly. KishouDoragon fired again, but it was to no avail--it couldn't cut through the barrier, even with the Crystalis.

"Dammit," the General cursed. He hoped that KishouDoragon wasn't out of tricks yet.

On the viewscreen, a communication window suddenly appeared, showing the face of R.D. framed by the light in the control chamber of his Super Mechanoid--somehow, the boy was glowing bright blue, and angular lines of light traveled up his body and into his eyes at regular intervals. "Okay, how the hell do I get past that armor?" he asked.

The head scientists present answered. "The Cyraeth ships deploy that energy armor whenever the main body is attacked. Our research managed to pinpoint how. There's a specific organ within the center of the body that converts certain compounds into energy. If you disconnect that organ from the rest of the creature, it'll lose its ability to generate that armor."

"Great. Transmit me the location," he said. Behind the communication window, KishouDoragon was flying upwards, as Devil Dragons chased it upwards--cannons on its tail activated, and showered them with beams of energy that scattered them away. Patrick noted that the boy seemed to have an incredible amount of control to divide his attention between fighting and communicating.

As the technicians opened up data channels to KishouDoragon's database, the General shook his head. "The only way we've been able to destroy the organ is by sending in a specialized strike team to infiltrate it, but I had to sacrifice the hanger containing the transport ships. I lost a lot of good men there, too."

"Don't worry about that," R.D. said. "I'll take care of it. Just give me the location."

"So now what do we do?" Helena asked.

"I'm going to go check out the area," Hugo said. "The rest of you stay here and protect the Essence."

"Make it fast," Helena said.

Hugo tapped his pickaxe against his helmet in recognition and walked out. Once outside, he broke into a run (as fast as a Mettaur could run). Time to see what was going on.

"Be careful," Alasea said to the Mettaur as he left the chamber.

"Will R.D. be able to beat that thing?" Ileyna asked, leaning forward as she watched the screen.

"Hmm?" Alasea turned, just as something bright flashed across the screen. Red light exploded, as the Cyraeth fired another beam of energy at KishouDoragon.

===Aube Airspace===

"Draken Wing!" KishouDoragon shouted, as angular lines of light exploded out across R.D.'s body, emanating from his eyes. Outside, light glowed briefly between the various plates of armor on SkyDraken's wing binders, and they expanded open in an instant. The thrusters ignited, and the Drake of Braves rocketed over the incoming beam. It flew out far into the skies, where it exploded violently.

R.D. grinned almost sadistically as he looked down on the vessel, even as the data transfer completed and all of the beast's secrets were laid bare. Lines of light shot into his eyes, then back out. KishouDoragon lowered its right arm, and the Genocide Blazer disengaged, being grasped by one of SkyDraken's back claws. Light blazed out around the SkyDraken's head, and it disengaged, the armor shifting around and creating an opening in the neck plating. It shot up and around, in front of KishouDoragon as a smaller object jettisoned out of the opening in KishouDoragon's back.

"Slasher Connect!" he roared, slamming his fist into the SkyDraken's head unit. The jaws opened up immediately as various clamps locked down around the forearm, revealing a large clawed hand. Twisting its wrist, it caught the second object as it fell--as the hand grasped the hilt, the top opened up and a large, blue blade erupted from it, revealing the weapon to be a gigantic sword. "Annihilus Slasher!!!"

Light erupted from the blade of the Annihilus Slasher as he lifted it up into the air, the entire frame of KishouDoragon becoming alight with white-gold energy coursing through its armor.

"What in the world?" Ashley murmured, looking up at the Super Mechanoid. "What's he doing?"

"I don't know about you, Lieutenant, but I'm getting out of here!" David said, gunning his Nine-Breaker's thrusters and moving well out of the way. Ashley quickly followed suit.

"Raven, Rodeo, fire at that monster's face!" KishouDoragon shouted, startling both of them. The Drake of Braves reversed his grip on the sword, aiming its blade downward. A line of light traveled down the blade, and it suddenly split in two, forming a large, sleek pincer claw. "Hit it with everything you got!"

"You heard the kid, Rodeo!" Raven shouted, arming his missile pod and launching a salvo at it, before switching to his KARASAWA Rifle and firing laser after laser at the creature.

"Right!" Rodeo, already landed, switched to the plasma cannon as he knelt his Nine-Breaker down, taking the barrel of the weapon in one hand. Taking aim, he fired a searing wave of energy at the Cyraeth.

Explosions danced across the surface of the creature's body, as the blasts struck repeatedly. Missiles crashed against it, almost simultaneously, and its entire "face" was obscured--within, the demons maintaining the behemoth couldn't see through the smoke and fire, despite the shield armor blocking them from damage. It would be their doom.

"Slasher HELL!"

KishouDoragon hurtled through the air, sword first. As the shielding faded from the attack, he stabbed downwards at one point on the creature's body--the attack was quick, and unexpected. The armor couldn't be brought up in time, and the blade sank through into the flesh with ease, causing purplish black blood to spray up onto the white-gold armor of KishouDoragon, even though it sizzled away as the energy destroyed it. Dragons of energy erupted from the optical units of the Draken Arm, and they shot around and tied up the crossguard of the Annihilus Slasher. Reversing his grip on the weapon again, KishouDoragon began to rip the blade out of the Cyraeth vessel.

"Slasher HEAVEN!"

A disgusting tearing sound was heard as the blade came free, the insides of it glowing as it held some bloody, oily organ, a gray and purple, veiny sac, between them. The organ fell into KishouDoragon's left hand, and the blade closed up as he swung it up overhead.

"KAIMU NI NARE!!!"

As the blade smashed down into the creature's back, it screamed; an unearthly, ear-splitting sound, as the shining blade disintegrated through it. Flashes of white light exploded out everywhere as the entire beast began to undergo annihilation--it was as if a tiny sun was blazing to life above the island of Aube.

And within seconds, it exploded, sending particles of light everywhere. Of the Cyraeth, there was no sign. It had been completely destroyed. KishouDoragon, with the Annihilus Slasher clenched tightly in its right hand and the creature's shield-generating organ in the other, hovered in the air, triumphant.

===Central Command, Aube===

The room was silent, as the waves and particles of light disappated in the air on the screen. And suddenly it erupted into cheers.

Amongst the uproar, General Patrick could only say one thing.

"Good god."

"HA HA!" Matt cheered, clenching his fists. "Nice one!"

"Sir!" one of the officers shouted, looking at his screen. "The sensors are showing that all remaining enemy forces are retreating! We've managed to drive them back!"

More cheers were erupting in the command center, and in other locations at the base as the announcements were made. The General fell back into his seat and sighed.

===Island of Aube===

KishouDoragon watched as the Devil Dragon and other winged fiends took off, retreating across the ocean and into the skies. Within the chamber of light, he frowned, wondering when they'd be back. He deactivated the Annihilus Slasher, causing the white-gold glow around KishouDoragon's frame to disappear. The Drake of Braves carefully lowered itself to the ground, causing only a minor rumble as its talons landed on the hard ground. Other mechs were starting to flock around him as they too landed.

For a moment, R.D. had to cut the volume on the communication array from all of the cheering voices blaring through it.

Hugo paused mid-run as the announcement crackled through a damaged speaker in the corner. Good, looks like R.D. could handle himself out there.

"Looks like we managed to survive somehow," Alasea said weakly, hearing the announcement blare over the intercom. With a slow gesture, Alasea banished the misty viewing screen, letting it fade into nothingness.

The Omega Essence sat within its spherical container, glowing softly. After a moment, the platform began to elevate once more, and they watched as it slowly disappeared from sight, its download progress continuing uninterrupted.

Helena flattened herself against one of the protective walls as her body returned to normal. "I hope they'll relieve us soon. I really need to change clothes."

"No kidding," Matt said.
