Should I get a Mac g4 from Ebay or a new HP. Which should I get?

Yeah! Take us, for example! When we bought a new computer, we bout one with Win XP, 160 GB hard disc and 768MB DDR! With an AMD Athlon XP processor! It\'s cool! Also, we used our old computer to run Linux! We tried three different versions! Each reccommended by the hackers my dad knows. The first was Mandrake version 6.5, then 7.2 and then RedHat 8.0. We stuck with Mandrake 7.2 as it suited our perpose better. It\'s an old pentium 2 and now it goes like the clappers. It\'s like a brand new Pentuium 4 speed. It\'s 8 years old and suits our perposes wonderfully! Just experiment, although, if you choose Microsoft, don\'t experement too much, as each OS is around £120 (around $240).

Well, if your looking at prices, then I\'d say linux (Red hat 8.0 mainly). It\'s free if you just download it from their site. =P

I think you should get COMPAQ, it\'s better by many things. Do you know how much you crap you have to do on a MAC just to do a copy and paste? Like 5 minutes.

I\'m on my linux computer right now. The only thing is is that with KDE I cannot read my PMs, but with Gnome, I cannot view the board! But there\'s always both! I just don\'t like logging on and off all the time to switch from KDE to Gnome. Also, the mouse isn\'t a very ggod one, but that\'s nothing to do with the OS. It\'s a Compaq one. 8 years old.

Yep. Don\'t MAC\'s only have 1 click thingy on their mouse? Yeah, they do. No right click, and the round mouse is hell. People mostly get MAC\'s because of their color (Geez...). And getting ROM\'s on MAC\'s? I can\'t picture that.... But with my good ol\' COMPAQ laptop, ROM\'s go like that! Then again, I don\'t think you want ROM\'s. But my opinian is you getting a COMPAQ or something. And don\'t forget, MAC\'s don\'t have right clicks on their mouse, so anything on the right click is gone. You have to... CLICK A LOT! Go up....... open up a option, and do so much crap! So thats that...

My computer is getting old. I\'m about to need a new one too. I would suggest an HP. It\'s pretty good.

You need an ADVENT with n AMD Atlon ssomething processor! The equivalent to a Pentium 4 but cheaper!
