Does anyone care to help me with japanese? You don\'t actually have to help me with it, but some good websites would be nice. I heard you had to think in a new language in order to master master it.

I always wanted to learn Japanese writing so that I could make that big funny Japanese text on the side of the screen when one of the characters in my comics gets hit.

Are you learning to speak and write?
In that case, I wish you much luck on accomplishing this, it\'s gonna be hard.
I can only read Japanese....
I\'m not gonna bother learning Kanji either...

No matter how bad you want to master a language, you can not brush off going to the actual country. Totally emerged (or is it \"submerged\"?) with the culture and language, you will be able to fully understand and learn it. Very important.

...Also, you are forced to learn it if you want your breakfast, lunch, and dinner! ^_^

Pick up the Living Language (Random House) book called Ultimate Japanese. It\'s supposed to be equivalent to 2 full years of college level study. It explains things rather well, and I was getting it until I got too lazy to finish the book. (I should really get back to that...)

Watching anime or playing your games with the Japanese language track on until it doesn\'t sound so foreign helps too. Doesn\'t seem so overwhelming once you get into actually learning it.

I dunno how much you\'d get from 2 years\' worth of college study on any language. But I guess what\'s more important is how determined you are, and what self-teaching methods you use when learning a language from a book. Now I need to take French classes from Doc, since I\'ll be going to France on vacation.

in addition to reading books and online tutorials, watch as much fansubbed anime as possible. Fansubs are usually translated more accurately than the official release.

www.downloadanime.org

find something called bittorrent on google and install it. then you can download anime without using virus infested p2p programs. bittorrent is p2p, but not like youre used to. also listen to a lot of japanese music and try to look up the translations. u can get a lot of music at downloadanime.org.

My cousin went to France and he said he disliked it. My sister went to Australia and she did enjoy her stay.

I had French classes in 7th grade. I wasn\'t very good at it.

Why? Cuz non-alcoholic beverages cost so much there? And just becasue your cousin didn\'t like it, does that mean I shouldn\'t either? The way you put it there, it seems like you\'re giving us a bad impression. Anyway, gotta pack my rucksack soon ;)

No, I don\'t doubt it was a good place. My cousin didn\'t like it there, but that\'s not saying you wont.

When I lived there it wasn\'t that bad. They don\'t have malls, most people only have 7 channels on there TV\'s, it hardly snows(some people consider that a good thing), and it starting to rain alote. But other wise its great, the best is to live out of a town, were its nice and peaceful.:D
