Personally, I don\'t really enjoy the Kenshin movie very much. I just find it to be slightly boring and uninteresting. Also, the numerous flashbacks to one scene at the beginning get annoying after abit.

*shrug*

If you haven\'t seen any of the Kenshin OVA\'s, they\'re honestly a much better bet than the movie. Plus, the Seisho.. screw it, I don\'t know how to spell it, but the second OVA(or is it technically the third.. oh well) also is the only time adult Enishi was animated. It\'s far from perfect, but it\'s still really cool to see him on screen.

The Samurai X OAVs taking place before the TV series are titled Trust, Betrayal, and Trust & Betrayal Director\'s Cut.

The OAV taking place after the TV series is titled Reflection.

Samurai X The Motion Picture takes place during the TV series.

I\'ve seen Trust, Betrayal, and TMP- and they were all quite good. The TV series (titled Rurouni Kenshin) is better, though.

Note: The aforemnetioned titles are for the US release, I do not know for certain if they are also the titles in other countries.

No, everything that has to do with the series is called Rurouni Kenshin. Samurai X is just a stupid name given to parts of the series that were dubbed by a different group than the series.

Samurai X is a horrible name for the series too, Kenshin technically isn\'t even a samurai.

Kenshin is a samurai but he is just hired as an assasin at the time. He is a Samurai.

So do you like, know nothing about Samurais?

When Kenshin was the Battousai, he no longer had Hiko as his master. A samurai must have a master to serve, and if they don\'t, they\'re a ronin.

Which during the anime series, I wouldn\'t even classify him as one. He has the technique of a samurai/ronin, but he doesn\'t have the mentality. Being a samurai is more than just knowing the swordsmanship.

Yes i know that. but he was/is classified as a samurai. The story of Hitokiri Battousai is indeed true. It could easily be found in a japanese history book. I do see your point it\'s just that he was classsified as a samurai.

*off topic* Yes i know alot about samurais. Isn\'t Sepuku brutal???

Himura Kenshin was not a real man, and the story of Kenshin or the battousai isn\'t in history books. Saitou, Okita, Okubo and Katsura are some of the few characters that actually were real people. Kenshin, Kaoru, Tomoe, Enishi, Shishio, Sanosuke.. they\'re not. Alot of characters in Kenshin were based off the Shinsengumi(who were also real), but Watsuki, the creator is supposedly a big fan of them. But the series isn\'t true, it\'s historical fiction inspired by some real people.

Hell, I don\'t know why anyone would have been called the battousai. Battoujutsu isn\'t the name for the swordstyle he used with the sword coming out of the sheath, the true name is iaiijutsu.

And I disagree, seppuku wasn\'t brutal. The samurai were too proud to live with too much shame, and commiting it was an honorable act.

Hmmm.... iguess it wasn\'t that brutal now that you say that.

I didn\'t say that Himura Kenshin was real im just saying that Hitokiri Battousai was real. And if he ain\'t then I was Mislead and now mad CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!

Samurais were among the highest ranks in the Japanese imperial dynasties, though I believe daimyos and the shogun were of higher ranks. Samurais were master swordsmen, of course, but they had a strict code of honor. A man\'s actions judged if he were worthy of death, especially when dealing with one specifically designated as an opponent. Suicide was the penalty of defeat. If defeated in combat, the were to commit suicide or any form of kamikaze before their opponent/opponents had a chance to finish them off.

Yeah, the name Samurai X doesn\'t give justuce to the series. I never saw the movie (because I detest blood and gore), but if it was as good as Ruroni Kenshin, it must be worth watching. I loved Ruroni Kenshin, because it was so believabley during the Japanese imperial period.:D
