I suppose not many of you know me, but maybe (somehow) some of you might remember me (like Hublo, if he\'s still at this board). The reason of my appearing and dissapearing lately is because I\'ve been into buisyness with MMORPG\'s, that is, I\'ve been mapping and devving. Well, I guess most of you dunno what that is, so I\'ll just explain.

I think most of you know that MMORPG stands for Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game. I started off with Tibia, a German MMORPG of origin, wich has English servers too. I started to like MMORPG\'s, and searched for more. most of them were P2P, wich stands for Pay To Play (wich s*cks), but there were a good many free ones too. Unfortunately, these were mostly made by unprofessionals using Player Worlds software. That isn\'t too bad, but, there are some of wich the server never seems online. So anyway, if they weren\'t Player Worlds, they were lousy MUD\'s, wich just arn\'t RPG\'s but text based so-called adventures. One day, when I wanted to play Tibia, it kept saying the server was down and all crap. It seemed that there were some hackers about screwing up Tibia causing the Admin folk to shut it down. Those lousy Admins closed Tibia up for a month just because they were scared for those hackers. After waiting all the time, I checked Tibia again when the official site said it was online again. But then, the stupid client kept saying I was entering the wrong password. So I checked their site again, and it said we all got a nice mail with our new passwords and stuff. Wich I didn\'t get. So I didn\'t really feel like doing everything all over, and thus I was forced into the PW (Player Worlds) crap.

After searching for a little while, I found a nice and seemingly popular PW called \'Secrets of Mirage\', and I started playing. After a while, some guy asked me if I wanted to \'map\' at his server. I had allready heard that the people creating the game were called mappers, and they were admins too, wich means you can get yourself a sick amount of cash and make some overly weak and tons-of-exp-giving NPC\'s (Non-Player Characters). So I just answered \'yes\' and became a mapper.

Mapping is really simple: you just type \'/mapeditor\', press enter and voila: there the mapeditor is. You select tiles, place \'em on a layer and block the ones that need to be blocked, so that you get a nice area, home, dungeon or whatever.

After a while of mapping, I was promoted into a \'Developer\', and the name just says what it is. For the numb people out there, they help MAKING the game. They allso have the power to create items, guilds and NPC\'s. And, apart from kicking people from the server, they allso can ban people. But alas, the joy ended and those hacker bastets ruined my RPGing experience again. The server was hacked, my boss fired me since he thought I was the one who did it (that lame idiot... I can\'t even hack >_<;) and I was without a job again. Later, I apllied for a job at some new MMORPG, wich was about to released with the first 60 maps. Because I allready had some experience, the owner hired me, and I could start again. After that, I was buisy working on it all the time, since we were really short on time, because the few people playing it were beginning to get bored with those maps. Some time later, when Equinol (that\'s the name of the game, pretty stupid, huh?) was getting quite popular, things finally quieted down. At least, there was not much work to do anymore. We had reached the maximum of 1000 maps and people were all happy with the game, and it ranked no. 32 on the MPOG/MMORPG TOP 200. So, all I could do there was loitering around, checking up on people and being an admin. Finally, I had time to do other things too.

So, I came here, and now I think I can be here more oftenly (and restore my old huge post count, [with fair posts, doc]).

So that\'s my story. And now I really have to quit tiping, since my hands are beginning to ache of RSI :D.

Ack! I didn\'t know that topic! >_<; Now I feel like a n00b here -_-\"...
Erm, and I didn\'t play Ragnarok, since it\'s a 250MB download, and my computer\'s a big heap of (Pentium II) trash. So I can\'t really play games wich require 3d graphics, too. I would\'ve played it, but, I couldn\'t...
