This past week I got to take the SAT test (Yes, I\'m 13) It was because of the John Hopkins University thingie.

So, Has anyone else taken it like this? Any stories to tell?

Someone had a seizure on the day I took the test.

I\'ve taken the PSAT. Did you take it to see what it was like or was it for real? I won\'t be taking it for real until 11th or 12th grade. I\'m in 9th grade right now.

Well, it wasn\'t the PSAT, it was the real thing.

Not really. But anyways, I scored higher than about 80% of the sophmores (10th graders) at my school in writing skills. I also scored higher than most sophmores in math and english. That made me happy in a \"I\'m smarter than older people!\" way.

Believe me. The scores matter a lot. Sometimes if you score high on the ACT and/or SAT and your school grades aren\'t exactly cool, some colleges would still accept you.

If you are planning not to go to college, do not take the SAT or ACT.

I really don\'t suggest to spend money taking the PSAT because colleges don\'t view it, but if you really aren\'t sure or don\'t understand how to take the test, take it (Don\'t laugh, both tests have certain tricks and \"rules\" on how they word the instructions and questions and what kinds of questions they ask. \"If you can\'t play, you can\'t win.\").

Take the SAT as often as you can (and if you can afford it) and even start testing as early as Sophomore year (If you are a Senior, you are really late. Shame on you.). If you do bad the first time, you can throw out that score if you take it again and score higher. Colleges will only look at your highest score.

SAT seems to be easier than the ACT since the SAT is a \"traditional\" test (scantron) while the ACT is more hands-on testing (writing, show your work, so-on). But it all depends on the person. If I remember, when I took it a long time ago, I liked the ACT better...

Also, remember that to be safe, you should take both the ACT and the SAT test. Some colleges only take ACT scores, others take SAT, and sometimes some take both or neither.

I know you didn\'t ask for info, but I hope that gave you some useful information from my experience of the tests.

No SAT, ACT or PSATs for me.

I live in Canada. If you can make it through the snow and into the University, they accept you. For me, post-secondary education wasn\'t an option, it was mandatory because my parents are control freaks.

What\'s the difference between college and university, really? I assumed that university > college but sometimes I doubt myself.

All of my SAT\'s are always the same, I get high in Vocabulary, medium in math, high in science, medium in social studies, medium in study skills, high in Language, Medium in grammar. The OLSAT is the one I hate, So much questions, and I hate taking these! why the hell does the government care anyway?
I guess I should try harder on my SAT\'s, my grades are really low....

I took my KS2 SATs when I was 11 and I will take my KS3 SATs when I\'m 14 so I\'m right in between tests. *sarcasm* Oh, goddie */sarcasm*. SATs are compulsary, here, unless you happen to be ill, or you completely skive them. Either way, it\'s not a good idea to try ether for the resons Breakman said.

Something Breakman forgot to mention is if you have a really high grade point average like B+ or more some schools won\'t make you take the SATs to get into their colleges. But like breakman said it would be a good idea to take it anyway.

I took it today. Really. I\'m on the SAT competition team for my school. Anyway, I also took it in the 7th grade. I got a 997 on it...[so close to junior scholar...noooo].

Anyway, I took it this morning. Prompty thereafter, I was forced to take a psychology test. And then, I had to take a biology test.

HAVE YOU ANY IDEA HOW STUPID IT IS TO TELL SOMEONE TO THINK RIGHT AFTER THEY TOOK THE SAT???? Let me tell you. Just don\'t.

I got ticked. Really ticked. My hand is cramped right now.

What the heck is ani percent? That was on the test...

Assuming that y equals the anti percent of x, and x equals .10 of y, what is the anti-percent of k?

Oof.....that sucked.

I\'ve seen a few references to the SAT test before, as some kind of difficult and needed test... However, I have no clue what it really is. Could someone please explain to me what the letters \"SAT\" stand for, and what is the use of the test?

To clarify what they are: Its course work in subjects you choose kind of like a all year test I suppose.
