I believe that every time I decide to pull a ‘Faye Valentine’, a new branch of human philosophy shall herald each of these perilous journeys.
In the Bible, it is said that God created Eden as paradise. In the center of this glorious place there were two trees. The Tree of Knowledge, and the Tree of Life. It is said that The Tree of Knowledge contained all intelligence and all good and evil, and that to eat from it meant that you would surly die.
If you read it (or have a good source of information), it tells of people such as Methuselah living for a millennia. However, after Noah and the great flood, all those long-living people died, and from then on, humans only lived for a short life.
I was reading Ender’s Shadow the other day, and it said that those long-living people were literally stupid. That they lived for near infinite amounts of time with incredibly slow metabolisms, but they were incredibly stupid. However, the people after Noah had incredibly FAST metabolisms and thought at alarming rates compared to the ones who lived long. Therefore:
Assuming that all of the bible was true (as in all of Genesis), and that God really does exist, a question comes to my mind: Was God giving us a choice? When he put the two trees of (insert big word here) in the middle of the garden of Eden, was he really giving us a choice? Was he giving us the choice between immortality and stupidity, or mortality and genius?
This is all assuming that God actually exists. Whether or not he does is not my concern. My concern is that this brings up a lot of controversy in my mind. I mean, I don’t know if Methuselah or any of the others were actually STUPID, but it does seem …viable… even if I don’t believe in the Bible.
Well, I am eager to see what you all think.
Are you not? What? You don't understand me?
Well, ?ƒ?†¥?§©ç??§´ƒß? to you too!
I dare you to ban me Dr.Cossack!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!
