It\'s that time again, people!

Picking up where Master Tiger left off, I\'m starting the new spriting contest at the start of my summer break. Most of the standard rules still apply:

Rules

1. All sprites must be edited, at my rule
ex: you can\'t just change like 1 or 2 things
2.The sprite base must be from the megaman seris
ex:you can use megaman zero sprites but not zero from SNK etc.
3.THEY MUST BE YOUR OWN!!
4. All sprites must be made one week before this post or after this post.
5.sprites must be provided with a url or posted. I will not search through your site to look for sprites.

Sprite SHEET rule:
They have to be new, it takes a bunch of time to make a sprite sheet, some people have already made some, don\'t enter those, make new ones.

This time, there are additional rules which I have added to make this a fair contest.

This time, there are two separate genres:

\"The custom spriting contest\"
and \"The Remake spriting contest\".

I do this mainly to seperate two very different styles of spriting. Most people have won due to custom sprites in the past, leaving little competition from recolours and such.

Here are the Rules for each:

CSC:
1. You must make the entire sprite yourself, not just just a few alterations.
2. You are allowed to enter sprite sheets, single pictures or animated gifs. Movie files like avi, or flash animations are not allowed.
3. If you are to make an animated sprite, do NOT make a movie including camera angles and stories. They are supposed to be game sprites.

RSC:
1. A recolour must be made with an effort, I will not accept a sprite where only one colour is changed.
2. You are allowed to enter sprite sheets, single pictures or animated gifs. Movie files like avi, or flash animations are not allowed.
3. If you are to make an animated sprite, do NOT make a movie including camera angles and stories. They are supposed to be game sprites.

You are allowed to enter both genres.
I will start taking entries today (06.19), to enter the competition, send me a PM telling me which genre you are participating in.

Entries must be in Thursday (06.24), I stop taking them Friday (06.25). Make sure you get your entries in by that time.

The winner will recieve the Cobra Trophy

Man, my spriting contests are really comin along arn\'t they. I did 3, and MT did 1 (I think) this is the 5th addition. I remember my very first one, the good \'ol days.

Protonman, the contest has not started yet. I\'m only noting who is entering at the moment. Once the deadline for entries has expired, the competitions will start and you can start posting sprites.

I will announce the opening personally. It would be unfair to start before others had a chance to sign up.

zeusgamer00: There is no end date as of yet. I first have to get the entries in order. Like the previous contest, the competitors will go through different rounds to determine who will advance to the next round, so a end-date is pretty hard to tell.

axlgs: no, the point is to either make a custom sprite, in other words compleetly from scratch. Or in RSC, do a remake of an old one. Of course, you are able to make new bits for your RSC entry, but it must have a base from an original official sprite.

Ok...I was woundering because I\'m going to the beach on the 11th of July...I wish I coulde enter...stupid vacation coming at the wrong time..

That aside, I have an announcement. As most of you know, the competition starts tomorrow. At the time, I only have one entry for the CSC, and that is not enough. So, unless I get some entrys REALLY quick, I will merge the competitions again at the start tomorrow. This (ofcourse) means you are able to enter custom sprites.

Don\'t use that many emoticons at once..and I\'d like to see a full custom sprite of yours, that would be awesome!

Nayus Dante, you were not informed for the siple reason that I don\'t do that.

I don\'t know who wants to enter in the first place, and sending PMs to people I\'m not sure will be entering take up a lot of time, wich I don\'t have since I\'m working half the day. I have added your name to the list, so there is nothing to worry about.

Having said that, I will announce that the competitions... will not be merged. Thanks to the surprise entrys, there is now enough copetitors to keep them.

The entry date has passed, so the contest will now begin.

the contests will consist of three rounds. for each round, 1 will be cut from CSC and two from RSC. the third round, the winners of CSC and RSC will compeete against eachother. I will tell you how this will be done when the time commes.

the first round is staring today (6. 25) lasting til Tuesday (6.29.) No entrys at 6.30.

Ah man, last time we had a week per round. Ill have to work extra hard.

The reason for the reduced timeline is that I\'ll be leaving for Japan in under 3 weeks, it won\'t be anything big, just not a full week on each.

urm, that sheet i posted earlier (i deleted the post), can I enter that for the scratch part? Or do I have to make it between now and tues?

ugh, I have exams on sat and monday so i might not be able to enter the recolour/edit.

I probably should have asked this before, but does the recolor category include fusions, such as combining sprites to create a unique character, or is it just changing colors?
