This is different than the \'Do you play an instrument\' topic, this is why do you play. Only reply if you do, bicause otherwise you\'ll be saying \'Idon\'t play\'. And no, that doesn\'t include intruments of torture.

Why do you do it? Do you play for fun, or to get a girlfriend? Maybe to sticker to the man, or for money? Possibly because a relation did it? The possabilities are endless. Why do you play an instrument/instruments.

Me? I do it for most of the above reasons (except to gain money. I\'m not paid...yet. )

Any clearer now?

If you\'re creating a topic asking us why we play our instruments, then why don\'t you at least tell us why you play yours. 0o

Anywhoway, I play the Bass Guitar-my reason... <.< >.>...... Umm.... Because I think it\'s cool? I play in a band called Quarantine, and if only we could get a record deal, THEN I could get paid :P

[b]No, you said you played for many reasons, except money. That\'s not very descriptive, don\'t you think?

I began playing piano because my sister played it, most likely. I continue to play it because I know I will regret stopping.

I am not completely sure why I play the violin . . . perhaps it drew my curiosty simply because I was not not aware of how to play it.

I like playing bass drums because...
1)I\'ve always love playing drums.
2)They are loud.
3)They also can be used as instuments of turtore:D

I haven\'t been playing them for a while though. I just stopped playing them like 3 months ago.

Thats one of the worst reasons ever.

You should play instruments for fun, passion, and sometimes for money. But you never play for torture music

I use to play drums. I still like them, I just really didn\'t have a quality drum set.

I wouldn\'t mind practising the electric guitar. Even Acoustic and Bass would be fun to try.

I\'ve also taken a liking to singing...not something easy to do. It\'s even harder to admit. :P

I agree. It\'s much harder to sing in front of an audiance than to paly guitar in front of one.

Anyway, I play the violin. It\'s been about 10 months now, two times a week.

Thats a good amount of work there.

How long do you play each time

Apparently, you should put in at least half an hour of practise in any instrument every day unless you\'ve been advised not to.

Sounds like a good amount of time.I\'ve known some people to practice an instrument for atleast 1 hr a day.

Well, I go to school for lessons, and thats what I meant by going two times a week. I\'m getting privite lessons soon, too. I practice for atleast 15 to 45 minutes a day.

Right Now I\'m working on learning drums. I sorta play keyboards but not really.

I play because music runs in my family, and it would be a shame to waste my talent. Also it gives me a chance to do something with my friends, and of course it can be used as my trump card when I get the courage up to ask that girl out. And eventually, the money.

Heh! Trust me! Rock instruments are chick magnets! Also, rock is like love. It\'s about the pssion! Rock can only get girls to look at you. After that you\'re on your own. And that\'s how it was always meant to be...
