I was thinking of all potential the DS had the other day, and what games would work easily on it, and then it hit me.
Super Smash Bros. DS!!!
The features for the DS would make the game better. Seriously. Most people would initially think that a port would not work, due to the control scheme, but allow me to explain.
The game, due to the wireless networking could allow for Wireless matches that could last for a long time, with people always joining and going, or quickly between two or more people. Think one life stock.
Now some may argue that the screen would be a problem. But since everybody has their own screen, the action could be centered on you in the top screen, and zoomed out into a map showing other players positions as colored blips on the bottom.
Now, we enter the problem with individuality. Using your own character, or multiplies that could be set up for quick use before battle, means that you could always play with the same character and the same color scheme. That way, people would always know who you where!
Better still, since some people don\'t agree with the Item rules, the issue could go like this...
After playing a match, depending on how you do, you would be rewarded with coins. Different items would cost different amounts, and once bought, you can only carry a grand total of three items. To use it, you would simply tap it on the touch screen, where your items are stored off to the side. While this would limit the use of items, it would also add enough depth to further personal style and strategy.
A Bob-omb may cost 125 coins.
A Beam Sword 220.
A hammer? 700.
All of these could be bough in a shop on the main screen. When not battling, you could set up your profile or view others, which could include battle records and Bio.
I think this game would be awesome, and that Nintendo is missing something if this never comes close to reality. What do you guys think? Comments?
