Hi!

I think we\'ll all agree that Macromedia make great products (Flash and Dreamweaver, just to name two) and many are MUCH better to the Microsoft equivalent (Windows Movie Maker and Microsoft Front Page). However, could they make more money by loweering the prices? I would make Flashes, and make websites, if I could afford the products! I was looking at the online store and some of them, I could by a brand new Gibson Les Paul guitar for AND get £500 change, and they are RIDICULOUSLY overpiriced. I don\'t know how ANYONE can afford to buy these! I think that Macromedia may even make more money by LOWERING the prices so that more people (like myself) can buy them.

I think the same can be used for Photoshop. The company claims that they have to raise the price to make up for people bootlegging the program.. However... less people would bootleg it if they could actually afford it. I mean, Photoshop is amazing and stuff.. but... at a price from $649 - $1,229... no wonder people don\'t buy it more often than bootleg it.

I think that the same can be said for most software companys\' products. But I think there\'s something SERIOUSELY wrong when you could buy TWO new computers for the same price! Why do tyhey have to be that expensive, anyway?

So true. Paint Shop Pro, while not a direct competitor, sells for about 100$ US. The difference is quite dramatic, no? Who, besides professionals using the software for a living, can affort it?

Personally, on a computer I used to have, I downloaded a bootlegged copy. Not that I condone it or anything...<_<
