I was reading up on some of what I used to write, and I came to my last post ever (while I was using the name) . . . I\'m sorry. My apologies. Forgive me or not, but I love all of you . . .
Getting away from sentimentality, let me add this:
The world, that is to say, society in general, continues to regard several things as truth. As confusing as this sounds, what I mean to say is that things regarded as fact are ultimately regarded as true in the eyes of the public, and anyone else capable of an intelligent viewpoint. What you really have to think about is why this is so. This brings to mind the prompt to an SAT writing assignment, which I took only March 12. It discussed by the majority opinion affects leadership, and how leaders believe what is widely believed.
That is more or less to say that leaders and politicians believe what is politically advantageous to their position. The reason for this is because the public, that is to say individuals who are too lazy to think for themselves, buy into public knowledge unknowingly, regardless of truth or factual precendence. Anyone who dares to tell them something they don\'t believe in are labeled as \'enemy\' in their books, and are not listened to. This being said, you can see why politicans only believe in what the public does, because if they didn\'t, the public would throw them out.
That being said, I\'m sure you notice the horrible flaw that is prevalent in that thinking.
What is the public opinion is wrong?
If it was, who would know? Anyone who would offer an opinion contrary to the public would be shunned, ostracized, criticized, jazzercized . . . (ahem) well, they wouldn\'t be listened to and they would most-likely be kicked out of society. I suppose this is why philosophers like me and writers and all of use \'thinkers\' are such social outcasts, merely because we think about things and draw different conclusions. but the point still stands that the public opinion generally is wrong, yes, I said it, most of what the public believes is wrong, or otherwise, incomplete knowledge, because so few people really sit down and think about things. Thus, politicians are elected to office believing in potentially wrong ideals and ideas, potentially creating a risk of bad leadership (ahem) what I mean to say is just the increasing of the probablility factor of bad leadership to about 1:1 ratio.
My true purpose in writing all of that is to say this:
The reason why we get bad leaders like Bush and other unmentionables elected to office is because they believe in the same screwed and flawed values the public believes in, hence, the public likes them more than a new-thinking broader-horizoned politician. That\'s why America is so screwed up nowadays, because we elect bad leaders who make the same mistakes that we\'d make, based on potentially wrong knowledge.
Not to say of course, that the public is ultiamtely wrong, just to say that the public has the potential to be wrong.
Just friendly . . . well . . . whatever.
Just Sound Advice
Till next time
