Hmmm... been a while since I've stopped by here! Not much has changed, so I guess I'll make one of the newest civilized conversations on our new games, Team of Colonel and Team of Protoman.
Now, for those of you who don't know, and I'll put it in spoilers just in case:
ToC: KnightSoul, ShadowSoul, ToadSoul, TomahawkSoul, NumberSoul, and of course ColonelSoul.
ToP: MagnetSoul, NapalmSoul, SearchSoul, GyroSoul, MediSoul, and ProtoSoul.
Now, if you think about some of the things that these characters have in common (relative to the game they're in of course), you'll start to see something. KnightMan's toughest part in BN2 was his rock-hard defense, right? ShadowMan's evasion moves were also difficult to match. As to where in ToP, ProtoSoul's power in BN5 was a 2x multiplier for sword attacks, and NapalmMan from BN2 was one of the strongest enemies around!
This leads me to a semi-conclusion: Team of Colonel is meant for defenders who pull off the big combos when it counts, and Team of ProtoMan is designed for those who just love to slash and hack their way through the enemy. According to the way you play, you can determine how easy (or difficult) a time you'll have playing your new BN5 game.
That said, does anyone have anything to add that would contradict and / or agree with me? Just comments in general?
On a final note, I would like to acknoledge FlareMan, aka Jazz, for actually noticing this. I just sort of pointed it out here, since he didn't and he's made the observation a while ago. All credit for this "well that's interesting" news goes directly to him. So long as you're a decent role-player, check out his awesome site, BNU, which I've linked to in my sig! [/shamelessplug]
