The closest thing to a sixth game that has been announced is Double Team, which will be a combination of Team Colonel and Team Protoman on the DS.

Well it seems we\'ve fought the Wily family paralells of the Hikari family

For instance,

Tadashii is Gramps, who\'s paralell is Wily.

Yuuchiro is Lan\'s father, who\'s paralell is Regal

So all we need to see is Wily\'s grandson. Lan\'s counterpart.

Wily was probably still a respectable scientist when Regal was born. Regal\'s already known to have caused two major incidents of Net Crime. Not many people are going to like him after that.

Thats not a 6th title - that\'s a complimation of MMBN5. Think of it as the Definitive Version of Mega Man BN 5

Actually, I seriously wonder about that: for ALL of the previous Battle Network games, a Japanese sequel was announced before the English release of the current game (like MMBN2 was announced before MMBN1 was in stores here, the MMBN3 announcement came a few days before MMBN2\'s English version, and so on). That did NOT happen at this E3. Maybe the dev team is just busy with the DS game...

A friend of mine told me once that Capcom plans to stop BN production at around #8. I\'ll just take his word on it, and with that said... yes. There will be a BN6.

Now, we\'ve got to look at the facts. The original series, 1-8. Hmm. The X series, 1-8. Hmm. Anyone see a small trend taking place here? (excluding the Legends Series, that\'s a wee tad obvious why it didn\'t take off. Psst, it wasn\'t 2D)
Look at the ending in MMBN3, was there a MMBN4? Cmon people, the dev team loves this game, they use the same engine, graphics, and sometimes even enemies over and over, and manage to create awesome games while doing so. To have this kind of release with a kids TV show taking care of advertising (Even though the MMBN series is really not for little kids in terms of thinking.) This is another soon-to-be Classic from Capcom. Give up a perfectly good series and game engine to take another gamble. I seriously doubt it, but it is still possible that they will move on.

Wait, so the reason there\'s no more MML games is because they take too much effort to make? I never thought about it that way. But then again, that\'s probably also how Nippon-Ichi produces a nonstop flow of 2D strategies (all awesome).

Ah well. If they keep up the Battle Network series until at least 8, I\'ll be happy. I wouldn\'t mind 6 more MMLs though.:D....

After MMBN series is over though, aren\'t they going to need a new series? I mean, they\'ll have Megaman Zero, but I certainly know it hasn\'t hooked all the fans of MMBN. I\'ve no reason to doubt they\'re good, it\'s just that it\'s a totally different style of gameplay from MMBN. My guess is they\'ll create another series with a battle system similar to that of MMBN.

To be honest, I wish Capcom would go back to Square one with MMBN...or more specifically square two.

If you ask me after MMBN3 the series has gone down hill like a suicidal skier. The Soul system just doesn\'t offer the same personal aspect to the game, and making you play though the same thing, that\'s 1/3 the length three times to save on production time is cheap. I won\'t buy 5 at all. I might consider Double Team, but unless the series turns around and pulls something awesome out of it\'s arse (a decent story perhaps?) than I\'ll stick with my old copy of MMBN2. Regardless if they come out with another full six games.

I think the soul system offers just as much customization as the elements (and elements are lame because every game uses them). My reasoning for this is that nobody REALLY uses all the souls. Most people I know dislike AquaSoul, yet I use it. It\'s the same thing as the elements basically, it just allows you to choose which ones you want. Not to mention that souls offer you many more abilities and can be changed mid-battle. I think that may be more customization than the element system.

It\'s also no as though MMBN5, 3, and 4 (well, maybe 4) took away anything from the plotline by having too versions. It\'s just as many navis, just different ones in each game. They\'re really not cheating anybody, since it\'s mostly a choice of preference as to which version you decide to get. It\'s pretty nearsighted to get angry over not having all 12 of the souls in one game. Besides, if it helps keep Capcom and Nintendo afloat, than I guess it\'s fine... Unless they choose to elevate the prices of each seperate game.

I think everyone knows that MMBN is here to stay. As for what happens after MMBN8, I\'m guessing Capcoms going to go with something along the lines of an X version of Battle Network. After all, the Battle Network series is basically just an alternate timeline/reality of the MM universe. Just to clarify, here\'s a brief explanation (note that Light and Hikari are used interchangeably because they both mean the same thing in different languages (Japanese and English)):

Battle Network: Science people decided to give Dr. Hikari (Light)\'s (Gramps, not Dad) project (the Net and Navis) instead of Wily\'s robotics project, but they still work together.

Classic (this is guessing): Science people decided to give Dr. Wily\'s project (robotics) funding instead of Dr. Light (Hikari)\'s Net project, but they still work together.

The next logical step in the series is to have an X continuation, in which things are more serious and mysteriously unexplained most of the time. Plus everyone in the current storyline is dead (or deleted) but show up in holograms or something like Vision Burst. Thus buying Capcom time until they get a new idea and until they can work out Battle Network Zero where Zero.EXE gets his own series in which the Net\'s deteriorating and X.EXE has gone crazy or something.

I guess this sounds pretty convincing...

I\'m pretty sure Dr.Wily was Dr.Light\'s lab partner in the classic series, right? But Dr.Light was above Dr.Wily in proffession, I believe. So either through some particular incident, jealousy, or just plain random evilness (I\'m not sure which), Dr.Wily stole Dr.Light\'s robots and tried to take over the world with them.

News flash! According to IGN, Mega Man Battle Network 6 will be officially announced next week! However, they suspect that it might be going to the Nintendo DS instead of the GBA... I don\'t know about you people, but I would rather have this latest game available for the GBA since it\'s been the home for almost all the games in the series so far. Besides, it can as well be played on the DS!

Still, the bn series after 3 really did go down hill. BN 4 was just one big tournament, little of the main story. BN 5 was just liberating areas from nebula. But bn 5 brought back the huge continuing story line like bn3.

The souls are a good addition, and it offers strategy in battle instead of having only one style to chose from.

Still, I would feel much better sticking with the better bn 1,2, and 3. Honestly, the liberation battles arent fun at all. They just get you pissed off.

But Ill have to look up bn 6 when it comes out... so I can decide if Ill get it or not. I wont get it if it has liberation battles. New souls would be great too. But if it does have liberation battles, Ill just stick with the zero series.

But there\'s still hope... or maybe none...

Also seeing the theories of Wily being Gramps counterpart and Regal Yuuichiros (what a name),
When will Lans come?

BTW, I think MMBN 4 isn\'t really that great, but it didn\'t go downhill, although 3 and 5 are the one are preferred,
no.s 1 and 2 kinda sucked.
