If you don\'t want to know just how sad and dissapointed I am in Battle Networks 4 and 5, skip to the bottom.

I\'ve been playing MMBN for a while.
Played MMBN, thought it was pretty good despite a slightly cumbersome battle layout and a confusing maze of an internet.
Played MMBN2, thought it was a lot better, the music was TOPS and Bass.exe had a bit of a story to tell!
Played MMBN3, music still good, battle layout at MAX for ease of use, Bass\'s past and Cossack are introduced AND we got the Navi cutsomizer! Yay!

And then came MMBN4 and 5. The character portraits look a little better, the sprites look like something heavy sat on them, battles are not only chunky but chip stats have been butchered and the music is AWFUL. The bad guys are now some dark dweebs who (as far as I can tell) have NO LINK whatsoever to the original Megaman and THEY REPLACED THE ADD FUNCTION. I couldn\'t bring myself to finish the game, so I\'ve never seen the ending credits.

Did the the entire sound and scriptwriting team get killed or something? Budget cuts? If it\'s because of budget cuts, it definitely shows.

Hey, dude, we\'ve got other things to do. There are other topics for this.
And if you think the music is awful, just turn the sound off, I think BN 4s music\'s awful too, but in BN 5 it\'s better again. BN 5 and 3 are the best to me, 1 sucks for the awful kind of add function, while in BN 2 and 3 that\'s better, it\'s just too bad they don\'t have it in BN 4 and 5, and Styles are gone, but in-battle element changing is a lot better for your strategy, unless you want to pay a certain Beta Navi a visit...

Anyway, somebody please get this out of here, and you, go to another topic if you want to complain...

(sheesh, some people never stop whining do they...)

(Yeah, he could\'ve just stopped playing BN 4 and 5)

I think it\'s generally well-recieved that 4, 5, and 1 are the lower quality games of the series. 2 and 3 being the upper crust.

1 is easily excuseable. It\'s not bad for a first try. 2, wonderful. They pushed the boundaries and just what their game engine could do. The results were great.

With 3, they were done with the heavy pushing, so they decided to just do a game that was making use of everything. 4, was lame. 5 was a bit better.

Well, im gonna have to say that the starting themes for 1-3 were better, and now they change it all the time.
By the way, MMBN4\'s storyline didn\'t make any sense at all, the meteor would have had to be traveling far over the speed of light to get to Earth in one week. So, as the theory is assumed the asteroid would just pass straight through Earth, leaving it\'s orbit slightly affected. Not this big splatterd mess.
As for five, they have made improvements but I honestly prefer how MMBN3\'s navi chips were done. As well as the styles, I\'d like to see that and souls at work. But, Capcom hasn\'t done that. I think they should make a huge frikking game for GC that includes all the chips, navis, and other stuff. Then give it online capabilities and oh yes, a new peak of MMBN would be reached. But they would have to really be desperate to try that idea.
But by the looks of things, MMBN is getting desperate.
