The Truth Corner section has been looked over to make several corrections and improve the phrasing of some subsections. Most notably, the future games entry now includes the latest information from Capcom about the status of the series.
I would like to remind all artists and artistic-minded people that this website accepts your Mega Man FanArt! No new pictures have been sent my way lately, but I'm always open to receiving new artworks and featuring them on this website. All of the pictures are also included in the rotation to be featured as the "Picture of the day" shown in the right column of the main page.
The layout of the website has been updated to fix some nagging issues that have been there for a long time. This should also make the site easier to browse using screen readers or other types of alternate browsers. There are a few minor display differences on some selected pages, but nothing very important.
If you notice any problems coming from this update, be sure to tell me so I can fix it. Please include your browser's name and version to help me pinpoint the problem.
In order to better cover the various news being released about the Mega Man series, I've appointed Dr. Light as an extra reporter. He's been around us for quite a while on the message board and is knowledgeable enough about the series to possibly unearth rare or exclusive news items.
His first post will happen whenever there's something worth reporting!
After last week announcement of Dr. Light joining us to report on the ongoing news, one more person will step in the fray! Teej, another long-time site visitor, will be participating to cover the games, the related products, and more!
This month's issue of Nintendo Power brings us news of the Classic Series' tenth installment! Some notes that have been revealed:
- Mega Man is looking for a vaccine-making device to fight the 'Robotenza', which causes robots to overheat and go crazy
- play as Proto Man right from the start
- third playable character yet to be revealed
- computer-themed stage with mouse pointer enemies that draw boxes to throw at you, color-changing disappearing blocks, power tread ...
The first pages are now live on the official site for Mega Man 10 on Capcom Japan's website. Most notably, the first trailer for the game is available. In a very similar way to Mega Man 9's own trailer, the preview shows the outlines of the 8 robot masters along with various gameplay clips and music segments.
The pages with the maps for Mega Man ZX and Mega Man ZX Advent have been looked over. The maps are now shown properly following the in-game names and the order in which you should encounter the various areas (ZX Advent only).
Capcom has just announced the Mega Man Zero Collection, which is a compilation of all four Game Boy Advance games in the Zero series.
Mega Man Zero was first released back in 2002 and praised for going back to the franchise's original 2D platforming roots. The Zero Collection will be released on the Nintendo DS on April 22 in Japan and priced at ¥4,190 (US$$46).
No word yet on whether this is a "port" or "upgrade" with new visuals and audio.
Thanks to the busy folks of The Mega Man Network, we now have the official trailer for the Mega Man Zero Collection, with subtitles. As it was to be expected, the four games of the Zero series are included in the package, ported from their original GBA format. The graphics, gameplay and music all appear to be intact with very little changes visible at this point.
The official Japanese website for this upcoming title is now available as well.
A few years ago, someone nicknamed twig prepared a set of translation patches to turn the Korean-only release of Mega Man X7 in English. While not perfect, these patches do a great job of making the game more enjoyable and easy to follow.
Since the initial release of these patches, the provided download links have become less reliable. As such, I'm taking the liberty of reposting the files in the Downloads section. You'll find both patches near the bottom of the page. Twig' ...
Yesterday marked the day that Mega Man 10 was released on WiiWare. The Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 versions will follow in the next days, both in North America and in Japan. It'll cost you 1000 Wii points, which are worth about 10$ USD.
The game information page on Nintendo's website reveals the upcoming downloadable content, including the identity of the third playable character: it's none other than Bass! A picture has also surfaced showing his new NES-style sprite alongsi ...
The server hosting Interordi.com and ION Gamma was unexpectedly upgraded today. While I see some improvements on the admin side, unfortunately, this upgrade also caused some minor and major elements to be broken. If you've noticed anything that seems out of place, please drop me a note or reply to this topic on the message board and I'll take care of it as soon as possible.
A trademark, filed on April 21, 2010 by Capcom, presents to us the name "Mega Man Universe." Whatsmore, because of the information regarding the trademark, it appears to be a new videogame for the series.
What makes this trademark so interesting, however, is that this trademark was filed soon after Destructoid's weekly podcast, in which Seth Killian, a Capcom employee, hinted at a new Megaman game that he "doesn't want to say nobday has seen it coming" and that "the idea is exc ...
I've been overwhelmed with real world issues for the past month and a half, which made me overlook an important fact: on May 6, the Mega Man PC Website: Dr. Cossack's Lab celebrated it's tenth anniversary! That's right: we've been online for over 10 years now, almost half the total lifetime of the Mega Man series!
The last year saw the rise of Mega Man 10, the latest game in the Original series. The Mega Man Zero Collection has also been announced and is closing i ...
A Mega Man based online game teased at a few weeks ago has finally had some light shed upon it. Neowiz, along with Capcom, have officially announced Mega Man X Online. Sources have confirmed the game as a 2D side scrolling action RPG with 3D graphics (comparable to that of Mega Man X8 and Maverick Hunter X).
Check out the source for images, or the forum thread (located at http://interordi.com/mboard/topic.php?id_topic=12812) for official artwork and information.
For those looking for more information on Mega Man Universe, which we first mentioned a few months ago, a teaser has been made available on Capcom-Unity. Precious few details are known, except that the game is coming out on both Xbox Live and the Playstation Network as a downloadable. Keiji Inafune himself is at the helm of the project, but the exact gameplay type is not yet known.
While Mega Man news have been few and far between, I continue to work on this website in both maintenance updates and large scale projects. I don't post news items about every little thing happening behind the scenes!
I've taken some time this evening to do a bit of housecleaning. Inactive affiliated websites have been cleared from the left menu, and the FanArt archive has been cleaned-up a bit. Remember that you are always free to send me by e-mail your art based on the Mega Ma ...
Today we got our first peak at Mega Man Universe. While the first trailer was, to put it lightly, vague, today's trailer was a bit more informative. Mega Man Universe seems to be a 2D platformer with 3D character models. That wasn't the stand-out point, though. Rather, it was the fact that Ryu from Street Fighter fame was a playable character, though no footage of him in action was shown.
The newest website to join our select group of affiliates is actually a blog, the Reploid Research Lavatory. Maintained by a long-time friend of mine, #20, the blog is focused on rare finding, oddities, translations and special artwork seen all through the Mega Man world. Thanks to his extensive archive of sourcebooks, #20 is able to bring back long-lost information or shed new light on recent releases. Give it a look!
Please note that the blog moved as of today, so be sure to bookmark th ...
It's obviously hard to miss, but the website's home page now features a brand new logo provided by the same artist as the previous one: Ultimate X! This was sent to me some months ago and was meant to be part of a larger update that's been delayed due to various circumstances. Instead of letting it sleep more, I decided that it was time for it to shine!
Those who can read between the lines might have understood that another update is already being prepared. This is schedule ...
Details are scarce, but Capcom has revealed that the project "Mega Man Legends 3" is currently in development for the 3DS. Keiji Inafune, the executive producer, notes that he has wanted to make a new installment in the series for "a number of years."
The Truth Corner page has been updated to take into considering the recent game releases and announcements. This includes Mega Man 10, Mega Man Universe and Mega Man Legends 3.
I've put together a new survey that I'd like you to fill. It involves some recent gaming trends on both consoles and computers, alongside with the use that you make of social media. With 11 short questions, this is quick to answer and will provide me with some valuable data.
Part of these answers are for my own curiosity, while some others will help me determine the direction that some of my current and future projects such as ION Gamma should take.
As announced previously by Capcom, all of the Mega Man games available for the GameBoy and GameBoy Color are being re-released on the 3DS, and we now know the full release schedule. Only Mega Man (I) had been available so far, but all the others will join it for this event called Mega May. At least one new game is being made available each Thursday:
May 1 (today!): Mega Man Xtreme
May 8: Mega Man II and III
May 15: Mega Man IV
May 22: Mega Man V
May 29: Mega Man Xtreme 2
You probably noticed already that something has changed hey? I got rid of the frames! All the pages are mostly the same, besides the fact that the frames are gone. This means that you don't need to scroll 2 pages to see everything, only one! I also put some live on the left menu (just move your mouse over a menu item to see... :-) ) Finally, I changed the Babbling Cossack head with the 32-bit version, from Rockman 5 PSX.
On Capcom Japan website, you can see some new faxes related to the upcoming Mega Man games. For those who don't know what they are, the faxes are some kind of a newsletter about the upcoming Capcom games in Japan.
The first fax is about Mega Man Battle Network. You can see some of the new robot masters in their EXE form: at the bottom of the page, from the left to the right, you have Magic Man, Pharaoh Man and Shadow Man. You can probably recognize the character in the middle at the ...
... the complete soundtrack for Rockman 6 PSX! Those files took me forever to rip and upload, I hope you enjoy them! You can get the Rockman 6 PSX files from the Music section. Note that these files won't be there forever, because the space on my server is limited... Don't be afraid tho: the files will stay there for at least a month.
10 000 hits!
This morning, I finally got my 10 000th hit! Thank you everyone for your support! You rule people!
Mega Man Battle Network at E3
IGNPocket rated the different games shown at the E3 for the GBA. On their list, for the RPG category, Mega Man Battle Network was the best RPG to be seen at the E3! Read the full story here.
A new Fan Art pic
I added to the Fan Art section a picture of Mega Man X done by XtremeDragonSlayerZ.
Many of you are wondering what is the current status of all those projects I'm wanting to complete, so here is the current work being done everywhere.
Website: I'm going to add a few reviews soon, and more MP3s in the MP3 section.
Mega Man 5 for PC: I didn't do anything on this one lately, sorry. I'll probably put more time soon on the level editor, allowing me to create the levels to play in the game.
Rockboard translation: Now this is going somewhere. I'm ...
