I\'d be a hunter because they\'re always stronger and better than mavericks. Of course, if mavericks were stronger and better than hunters, than I\'d be a maverick.

The Maverick Hunters is a narrow-minded and oppressive organization. I would choose freedom as a Maverick over being a Hunter, any day.

Id be a Meverick cause my friends are and if i was a hunter they would gang up on me:muha::muha:

Perhaps you are not familiar with how the Mega Man X universe works. You do not CHOOSE to be a Maverick. You are infected by a computer virus. By default you are either a Hunter or a citizen, and the definition of Maverick in Mega Man X is:
A reploid contaminated with the Sigma virus, betraying humans against their own will.
So, you Mavericks, you don\'t mean Mavericks, you mean....X-Hunters

The reason X and Zero are the best reploids is because they were the only ones created by someone who knew what the hell they were doing: Dr. Thomas Light/Wright and Dr. (Albert?) Wily.
Then Dr. Cain tried to make reploids. The reploids Dr. Cain made are the only ones negatively effected by the Maverick virus.

I, of course, would choose to be a hunter. There is no honor in causing death, chaos, and destruction. Also, the hunters are the defneders of justice and see to it that evil does not prevail. Go hunters!

You don\'t have to be infected with the Maverick/Sigma/Zero Virus to be a Maverick. By bringing harm to another reploid, or human, you are a Maverick, whether you\'re infected or not.

NO REPLOID EVER GOES MAVERICK WITHOUT BEING INFECTED

I\'d be a hunter. I really don\'t agree with the maverick\'s tendency towards genocide and I\'m not the kind of person who would really get into being a maverick.
As for X and Zero being the only reason the hunter\'s win. I do agree that they are probably the only ones capable of fighting Sigma, but I am sure that the Hunters have some other pretty powerful fighters on thier side. Magma Dragoon, Squid Addler, and Blast Hornet were all at one point maverick hunters. Granted those three did go maverick (Hornet and Squid because of the virus and Dragoon because he wanted to fight X and Zero). More often than not though the mavericks can only seem to gain their strongest warriors by infecting them.

But whether I stayed a hunter or wound up going maverick I\'d still get to blow stuff up and isn\'t that what\'s really important?

It is interesting however that the most poweful soldiers in the maverick army seem to rarely ever fight unless someone breaks into thier control room. Conversly the hunters seem to send thier best warriors out to do a lot of the fighting. That makes sense though, have X and Zero take out the leaders behind enemy lines while any other hunter who is strong enough to take on those guys go to the frontline battles and fight the maverick foot soldiers and field commanders.

Hell yeah! Anything flammable or sharp is good enough for me!

Well, let\'s see...Magma Dragoon was originally a Maverick sent as a spy(unless the HQ made him, cuz then I\'m totally off) like Double, and when he met X and Zero he wanted to duel one of them, and he got just that when he destroyed the Sky Lagoon. Blast Hornet was a Hunter? Never knew that...I knew about Volt Kraken though.

Magma Dragoon was no spy. He was the leader of the 14th Grapple Combat Unit of Maverick Hunters. He chose to side with the Repliforce in order to fight against X and Zero. He\'d do anything for the honor of a true battle... and he was killed for it.
He was a Maverick by choice, not design or infection.

Chill Penguin was also a Maverick by choice. He joined Sigma because he was bored, and fought with Sigma for the entertainment value, not because he was infected.

And none of the bosses in X6 are Mavericks. They were revived by Gate, and willingly fought for him, not Sigma. They are never infected. Shield Sheldon was labled Maverick falsely by association with Dr. Jim (who went Maverick).

A reploid need not be infected to be a Maverick. Need I continue?

The X4 and X6 bosses are not Mavericks at all, my mistake. The X4 bosses(including Dragoon) are Repliforce, and the X6 bosses are Investigators. All the other bosses WERE infected, even if it was AFTER they joined. You know how Sigma is. He sucks so much at wars he can\'t let go of a single soldier

Dragoon was never infected. Penguin either... there wasn\'t a need.

Dragoon is a former Hunter. He fought on Repliforce\'s behalf, but isn\'t a member of the Repliforce.

Again, you can be a Maverick without being infected.

Hunter, if I\'m Maverick, everybody attacks me. So, I choose Hunter.

Blast Hornet was second in command of Unit 0 prior to X3. He got infected when he went to Dr. Doppler\'s citadale to attend some meeting in Zero\'s place.

It is true that some reploids do choose to become mavericks, like Vile and many of the bosses from the first two X games. Most of the mavericks that appear afterwards appear to be the result of being infected.

Regretably there are some cases where reploids were falsely accused of being maverick. The Repliforce and Shield Sheldon are the best known cases of this. Unfortunately it is the unavoidable result of any conflict that sometimes innocent people are falsely accused of something. That is why it\'s important to get all the facts straight before jumping to conclusions.

:sigh: I played ALL 6 of the X games. It\'s true Dragoon was not infected. He was never a Maverick.
Shield Sheldon is not a Maverick. He is an Investigator.
Every boss from X1-X3 is a Maverick contaminated with the virus. Even though there\'s no proof every last one of them was infected, is there any proof any of them weren\'t? Let me guess: the instruction manual. My mistake.
The X5 bosses aren\'t Maverick, either, except Volt Kraken-he goes crazy right when he talks to you. Grizzly Slash simply wants revenge for what Zero did a long time ago-plus he says he\'s infected and wants to be deleted before he attacks the humans, Duff McWhalen wants to duel for control of the sea, Axle the Red is pretty much gay and probably has a system programming error(reploid way to be developmentally challenged), Izzy Glow is angry because people keep stealing his weapons, Dark Dizzy is infected-he wants to fight even though it appears he never met you before, Spiral Pegasus says he\'s infected and wants to duel when he is conscious to enjoy it- he also says the Reploid Air Force is going down anyway so it doesn\'t matter if he is deleted, Mattrex enjoys dueling and decides to fight X/Zero. So pretty much, all the actual MAVERICKS are infected. All the ones that are free of the virus aren\'t really Maverick yet. Chill Penguin is just a mercenary like Vile

Exactly take Dynamo for instance he\'s not a Maverick just a mercenary and everybody as you know (except Dark Dizzy) were infected in MegaMan X5. Anyways.....

Life as a Maverick is sad and the maverick hunters are devoted to save people lives no matter what the cost. what does the maverick do destory every thing they can get their hands on. And they don\'t care one bit about it.

It\'s true that Zero and Wily do bear the responsibility for the Mavericks becoming as big of a problem as they are in the X series. If not for them there would most likely be very few mavericks.

It\'s also true that reploids infected with the virus lose control of thier actions and often have thier personalities completly altered, though apparently some of them turn back to normal after they\'ve been beaten to within in inch of thier life as in the case of Doppler and Zero(if he goes Maverick in X2 or X5). Generally the new personality given to the reploid enjoys causing death and destruction. From what I\'ve seen so far there are actually very few reploids who choose to be Mavericks. Even the reports of the first Mavericks in Dr. Cain\'s log in the first game\'s manual sound like they were infected by the virus or suffering some other type of mental breakdown. It\'s regretable that Mavericks, viral or otherwise, can often not be stopped without killing them(then again Wily\'s robots were the same way and he is the creator of the virus). Even if you could capture a maverick the virus appears to be uncurable without either almost killing them or completely erasing all of thier data.

I do believe that the Hunters do the right thing by stopping the Mavericks. Just because Mavericks can\'t control themselves is no reason to allow them to run around attacking and killing people.

I actually meant i felt sorry for mavericks that sigma controlled all their actions and that the hunters should did find a cure, it was in zero\'s saber in one of the MMX games.

I understand what you mean Zero.exe. I honestly do feel sorry for the Mavericks that Sigma creates since they did not choose that life. I think I might have misunderstood your earlier post and I\'m sorry about that.

I\'d forgotten about Doppler\'s anti-virus.... I wonder if it was put to use after X3(could\'ve been used in the Virus Buster module from X5).

Also Ive played MMZ and from what ive seen in it aparrently X and the hunters beat the crap outta the maverick some time in history
