As far as i know the Undernet was created to hold de Ultimate program, Gigafreeze, the only weapon cappable of destroying Alpha in BN3. And later the U-net got populated with very strong Navies and after that it got called the Undernet

I haven\'t played all MMBN games so i don\'t know if there are more stories about the creation of the U-net.

What do YOU think it is? Or why do YOU think it was built.

well in every mm game the undernet is always a refuge for evil navis, but i believe it was probably once a decent part of the net like everything else but in every game it really has a diferent purpose

I believe that the undernet is an area of the net designed to hold Alpha, the original design for the entire net. Because it was such a dangerous area with no real jurisdiction of any sort of law, the lower society gathered there and started up the criminal face with which we associate the Undernet.

I think that only a small fraction of the UN (UnderNet!) was created for the GF. The rest was created by powerful and evil Navis and their Ops.

I believe that the undernet was the original internet sence it can be accesed from all over the world.But over time new net areas were built thus leaving the undernet to rot...........

i see you all have other ideas. but most of them have something in common. the undernet ws the begining of the net.

but i thought Alpha was the first Net but because he got to much power and access to other computers he became evil and was sealed away in Scilab. (see BN3)

well from three I think it is the dwelling of all evil alpha was stored and housed at scilab for protection but drill man hacked the doors and drilled directly into the undernet
