Alright, I\'ll try and finish my synopsis of ToC.
NumberMan isn\'t bad at all as a character or as a navi, it\'s just that he does not handle combat well because of low attack and HP. NumberSoul is pretty good, but I\'m just not too great at using it myself. Really, isn\'t it kind of silly to say \"don\'t diss him because he sucks?\"
TomahawkMan is... TomahawkMan. He was my favorite original guys, and he turned out pretty well in the game too. I find that generally TomahawkMan\'s boomerang axe is a lot better than his 6 space tomahawk. The problem is that its pretty slow and has no way of hitting back row enemies. I mean, it\'s not bad, but the boomerang is just more versatile and all around more useful. The bonus grass stage is nice too, but makes an opponent using NapalmSoul a nightmare. So yeah, TomahawkSoul\'s good for all situations but fighting NapalmSoul.:P Tomahawkman\'s special power is pretty fun too. Check six with NumberMan and then swipe them with TomahawkMan!
ShadowMan\'s ability to walk over dark panels is great, but of course, Gyroman has the same ability. I\'d say all around, he\'s okay for fighting. His ninja stars are very useful. The soul is a little less impressive; I\'d really prefer a stepsword attack over appearing behind your enemy. His liberation effect is ok, but gets less and less useful as the game progresses.
Knightman is another navi of pure awesomeness. Is soul is terrific; charging quakes and airhockies is a good way to obliterate any opponent (although you might want to try and trap or bind your human controlled ones
). The wrecking ball is pretty nice; while it\'s not good for most situations, it works when you need it most, against tough enemies who move in on your spaces. The front row defense is very useful as well, especially when using an airhockey or several swords. Knightman as a fighter is amazing. His HP is incredible. His wrecking ball is unbelievably powerful. Even his royal wrecking ball, which has a pretty slow fire, proves to be extremely destructive. While ToadSoul was my all time favorite soul, I\'d definately say that KnightMan added the most to the team in general. His defense is also great; it protects you completely with no cost, unlike some certain magnetic shields I could mention.:P
Colonel is the games real lacking point. Sure, he\'s innovative and a great character, but I just don\'t find Colonel good for fighting, nor do I find that ColonelSoul proves useful in battle. I\'ve never been able to correctly utilize object placement chips, and having them turn into turrets is fun, but pretty much ruins their strategic value. Colonel\'s sword is pretty cool, and his cannon\'s also pretty cool, but I still really prefer the classic style of Protoman. I think I really am just addicted to stepswords. They\'re my all time favorite chips, and I really missed the easy access to them I got back in MMBN4. His long range X-sword is pretty cool, but I find it much harder to estimate in the heat of battle than the stepsword. ColonelSoul does prove to have some nice advantages, such as the ability to equip a tankcannon over your sword (that works pretty well against most any enemy). If I could have my druthers, I would have had ProtoSoul.
So overall, I\'d say that ToC\'s got a whole lot going for it; besides maybe ColonelSoul, I wouldn\'t trade one soul in the lineup. However, I am a biased opinion, I\'ll admit; but I do have my brother\'s opinions to enlighten me as to how the other game plays. I think he kind of agrees that ToC is the superior, but also, he\'s getting the one I really want next go around. He gets Greiga and I get Faltzer. Not that I mind Faltzer, but...
Spoiler (click to toggle)
