Well, IGN says the X Collection isn\'t as impressive as the Ann. Collection, but still decent as it seems. It\'s basically just a CD with the X games plus Battle and Chase, as you know. Battle and Chase was also said to not be as exciting as most racing games, like Mario Kart. Here is the reviewer\'s comments:

\"Mega Man X Collection isn\'t quite as moving as 2004\'s Mega Man Anniversary Set. In that game, the developer Atomic Planet added a number of sweet little extras (a platform-based selection screen, for instance, along with several enhanced versions of the original games with bonus soundtracks and maneuvers) -- and the overall quality of the source material was higher as well. Luckily, this compilation does offer unlockable soundtracks and artwork in addition to the Battle and Chase extra, but other than that, there isn\'t much else to get excited about. It would have been awesome if we were given a comprehensive history of the Mega Man X franchise or maybe comparisons with Mega Man proper and some commercial archives (ala Capcom Classics Collections), but as is, it\'s a bit bare bones.\"

Also, the comparison of the PS2 and Gamecube aren\'t that different. The audio and stuff is better on the PS2 and Gamecube loads faster.

Also, news that you may all have been waiting for (not sure if this has already been known): You can customize the controls unlike the Ann. Collection! I hated those controls...

Lastly, the Rating was a decent 7/10. I was expecting that, but the games are all great. All of them. Plus only $30...

Here are a few screenshots (not new to people who have played the X games):

Me? No, I\'m not going to get it. I have all the X games except for X7 and X8, but I don\'t want to get those. And so, I would have to play X1-6 just to unlock a game, and it seems like it\'s just not worth it. Oh well.

I don\'t have a lot of the early X games, so I\'d considered it... I\'m just not sure I\'m willing to pay that much again. o_o

A 7/10 isn\'t bad, though. I\'d say that should make it very playable by fans of the series, at least.

On a side note, I hardly ever customize button configurations unless my controller has a broken button and I need to change to be able to play.

I think that a 7 / 10 for what is a collection of ports with few bonuses is decent. I\'m just curious to know how the games were changed since Capcom mentionned a few possible updates. We\'ll have to wait a few more days for that...

I didn\'t like “Anniversary Collection.” The \"extras\" were not great and they messed around with the sound effects (sorry, sound and music are big things to me). I just wanted a clean-cut collection: have a simple main menu and unmessed around with games (unless they fix the frame rates, glitches, and other things that needed ironing out).

So if IGN is complaining that it\'s not like the “Anniversary Collection”, I\'m going to love it. 7 games for $30 sounds good to me...
