[font=Tahoma] I\'ve bought my PS2 when it came out over here, in Mar 4th of \'00. And after my warranty expired, the Goddamn thing started acting up every time I tried to watch a DVD. I\'m not even touching my controller when I\'m watching any given movie, and the damn thing takes me to the menu where you see all the option icons. Then the cursor moves from one icon to another, as if I\'m screwing with the control pad on my controller ( ie, up, down, left, right). Does this shit only happen to my PS2, or to some early model PS2s? Now you know why I refer to the PS2 as \"ShitStation 2\".[/font]

Sure it\'s not your controller? o.o But yeah, if it\'s not the controller that\'s causing the problem, it\'s the damn system. Sony just released a version 2 or whatever. Meaning \'the one that doesn\'t break as easily\'.

The PS2 itself isn\'t very good as a system. I have one. \'Haven\'t played a PS2 game on it in literally months (I\'ve been playing PSone games on it.). My GCN is my primary time-consumer.

Yeah, PS2 has won the award of \"Most Overrated Thing\" in my mind.

I want a PS2.

Go ahead and get one if you don\'t already have a GCN. If you don\'t have a GCN, get that instead, as it\'s infinitely better.

Yeah, you\'re right. It\'s all opinionated. For example, you like FFX, while I, on the other hand, think it sucks by the standards of most FF games.
I like GCN mostly for Smash Bros. Melee. It\'s replay value is ENDLESS. I have over 70 hours on that game alone! Plus there\'s Zelda GCN (and I don\'t give a damn what you people say about the graphcis. I think it\'ll be a great game!), Metroid Prime, remakes of all the Resident Evil games, and others. On the other hand, there\'s the PS2, with awesome games like Metal Gear Solid 2 and GTA 3 (and no, you don\'t have to be perverted or dirty-minded to like GTA 3), Virtua Fighter 4, Dark Cloud, Gran Turismo 3, plus Tekken 4 is coming for it.

Everytime a new FF game comes out, people always say it sucks compared to the standard the series set for itself. People expect too damn much. As a RPG itself, it\'s good. And besides, which FF game does it suck compared to?

Melee is only fun to me as a multiplayer game. I\'m the only one in this house that plays games, and the majority of my friends don\'t dig that game, so it didn\'t have so much replay value much, when I rented it. And I despise RE games.

ANYWAYS. Neither system has better games, it just depends on what kinda games you\'re into. And the games for a system, are all that truely matter..

That is SO not true about Melee. Like I said, I have over 70 hours on that game... but I\'ve only played with friends in about three or four matches!!!
I compared FFX to almost all the other ones (with numbers. Not Tactics.). I\'ve played all the numbered FFs that came out in the US, and, in my opinion, FFX is worse than all of them except VIII. FFX might be better than FFV, too. Just a tad. And I haven\'t played I enough to compare it well to FFX... But that\'s just my opinion...

Yeah.. Melee isn\'t for people that just like to play through the normal modes... but it\'ll keep the perfectionest occupied for hours on end...

Heh. I only played a couple FF games.

Packard: Yes, I\'ve played all 10 of them.. and I like each of them. And I\'d like to play XI quite abit too, but that\'s also kinda up to my parents too.. well, my dad... *grumble, grumble*

And nope, don\'t have the equipment to play PS2 stuff online, didn\'t know they were selling that yet over here.. o.o

I heard somewhere that the DVD player for PS2 wasn\'t a very good quality one. Since I don\'t own a PS2 then I won\'t go into it that much.


And about the game consoles. The consoles themself are pratically nothing. It doesn\'t matter if it\'s purple(GC), or long(PS2), or heavy(XBox), the only thing that makes a console good are the games.

If you like a certain game then you would of course like the console, but you can\'t really claim which console is the best. You get me?

ps2 is ok, but I like gamecube all the way.

My dad\'s PS2 broke, and it wouldn\'t even play games! My dad says there\'s something wrong with the eye. I thought it was possesed by furry monkeys...
