Has anyone else heard it? Megaman.co.uk says that Gamesarefun.com displayed scans just recently referencing Rockman Zex, a new Megaman series. Supposedly, the new game would feature two main characters, male and female, with special clothing allowing them to absorb powers. The name of this series has been labeled both Rockman ZX or Rockman Zex. However, the problem is, megaman.co.uk says that there were scans or posts on other forums concerning this information, and I haven\'t been able to find anything on it. Is the entire thing just rumors and hoax, or has anything else emerged about it?

In case anyone\'s wondering, I couldn\'t find a good link to the article. Just check megaman.co.uk and you should be able to see what they have to say about it on the front page.

Lol. ZX? Zero-X? Yeah right. Well, what they say sure sounds interesting, but WHY a new series? Where did this idea come from? Does it continue where another series left off? Or is it in a total new universe, different from ALL other series so far?

Nice idea that you can now choose a \'gender\' (if they are robots/reploids/whateversortanewracetheybelongto, they don\'t actually have a \'gender\'), but they have like \'copying abilities\'? My Axl Detector is buzzing somehow...


EDIT: Now, I see the art is in the RockMan Zero style. The concept art looks quite legit (sp?), but it could also be really nicely done \'fake\' fan art. And the \'screenshots\' look messy.

Well, I mean, there\'s about 7 pieces of official artwork in one of the links. True, the screesn don\'t look like anything impressive, but the design of the art looks almost like a carbon copy of the Zero series. Not to mention that it seems like an awfully elaborate rumor to start. It\'s starting to look sort of legitimate to me. Although that could be my usual gullibility kicking in again.

If it is true, then I believe the games are intended for DS release, possibly with a springtime Japanese release date.

I actually heard it was true. I\'m going to wait for Capcom to actually announce something, since some artwork on a gallery doesn\'t really convince me...even though it DOES look official

on the last screenshot you can see a Zero with wings so he propably is coming back in MMZ5.

this drawing style is something i like AND it is on DS so Semi 3D backgrounds can be easily used.

The guy looks like some sort of Zero re-make, the girl like a Leviathan one. In the last pic, you can see, as Ray mentioned, a Zero-like being with wings. The second-last one shows \'Van\' with a PET-like device.

I think this takes place roughly FIFTY years after Zero 4.

Oh...God...not another series... please....NO!! That just means one more forum on this site!:lol: And this so looks like a sequel to the Z series. I think that the two characters look too much alike, I could barely tell the difference at first. Only time will tell if this is good or not. I just wish Capcom would, like said earlier, finish the original and Legends series. I think the X series is fine being ended like it is now, there\'s already 8 of them...although, it did kinda have a cliff hanger.

People on another board kept saying that this might be meant to bridge the gap between Zero and Legends and finally form a bridge. I meet this idea with a great deal of skepticism. The new characters look little or nothing more like Legends characters than the old ones and the gameplay hasn\'t gotten any closer to Legends either, by the looks of it. Furthermore, the \"live metal\" concept is something entirely different from Megaman\'s armor in Legends. I think the only reason anyone would believe such a thing must be that people see the Legends dress code as \"casual.\"

I mean, it\'s possible, but I think it\'s very unlikely. Yeah, I was really hoping they\'d finish up Legends before a new series. Or finish up Legends period.

You know, I think that blonde chick might very well be Ciel, or related to her. I think the Zero series have now ended, and this is it\'s successor. The red reploid could be a re-build and adapted Zero, or so could be that thing with the wings. Perhaps Ciel made a \'copy\' of Zero\'s like she had done with X, and that that red reploid is that \'copy\' (might also not be a \'copy\'), and that that winged thing is Zero returned from the dead... again.

Of course, seeing that Van and Eile have \'X forms\', causes suspicion in me. Why is that? It has prolly got to do something with the original X, who was turned into a cyber-elf. Maybe they have discovered the blueprints of X Dr. Cain had used for more than 100 years ago, (note that I say MORE than 100 years ago...) and that they used them to make these so-called \'X forms\'.

Of course, this all is just speculations of the depths of my wretched being\'s petty mind, so none of you have to actually care.

I... I\'m not so sure that blonde one is a girl, Morph. It\'s kind of hard to say for sure, but... it might not be safe to make too much early speculation.:P

God damn it, another series to keep with. Seems to have a gay name too. I\'m not going to buy it though. Megaman Zero was too much, let alone this. ZERO DOES NOT NEED HIS OWN FRECKIN SERIES. It wouldn\'t have been called Megaman in the first place anyways.

I also don\'t want a new series... but, unlike I said before, I\'m probably going to end up buying it. I call official thread!!!!!

The Blonde has Model Z and on Rockman Perfect Memories it says \"Van and Eile use the live metals to transform into the Model X form.\"

Yes, most places seem to name \"Van and Eile\" together, meaning it\'s quite likely that Eile is the name of the female Megaman-looking character, rather than that of the Zeroish guy.

We only just found out about this, but seeing how fast capcom can poop out games, I would expect a Japanese release in a few months.

I think Capcom slowly and successfully didn\'t talk about it so everyone would forgot and still think it was one of the best companies... WELL, I haven\'t forgotton... We\'re waiting Capcom.

THis really does look like it will suck hard from my point of view. I hate the Zero games and this looks like a total re-hash of them. And also it appears to have no real tie-in with the other series other than the characters strange resemblancce to other Rockman X characters and the live metal sounds almost like force metal.
