Necro, who is indeed God.
Doc who is God of the Board.
You sir have nothing on them I'm afraid.
What about Wind?
Or UE and Phat and uh... someone else I forgot, gods of the chat?
I've been at boards Sage mods or admins at. He bases it mostly on personal bias or his emotions or preferences. Though at this board, it's much better (what he does psuedo-mod-wise).
There are people like Wind who a lot of people think would be a great mod. But that's not true. Because at this board, Doc doesn't care about n00bs, for instance, and he does care about swearing. Wind would be a great mod from an unbiased perspective (though I'm still hed still ban me at any board he could without rulebreaking), but his vision of what rules are or should be are not the same as the Docl's.
If we were going to choose a new mod, I'd say Ri(oni Riishu) would be a great choice, with Hollow behind because he knows what the Doc's looking for in rules. Rioni is really not based on my own pick, but rather, what I think the Doc might want in a mod pick. To me Wind would make a better mod, except for the fact that I already mentioned, his vision of the rules are different then Doc's. I pick on n00bs, occasionally, but I don't accuse them of rule-breaking unless they actually are.
I would love to be a mod, but not at this board. This board doesn't have clear-cut rules, and there is no punishment system for those who break them, so really all a mod does is say, "Be nice." Which is really all they do anywhere, but here they say it with little or no purpose. The biggest threat is "Your topic will be closed"... which really usually isn't a big deal because the topic may have originally been "What's your favorite game?". What I WOULD enjoy being a mod here for, is the fact that there are MASSES and MASSES of topics which need to be merged, and as I am generally here more often then most mods seem to be (that is, SPAM topics may be here three days or so before they get closed; though I haven't seen that happening recently it does happen sometimes), and I VERY OFTEN see topics where people have been off-topic for about three or more pages where no one has closed the topic or said anything, that is, a mod or admin hasn't. Most likely they just don't read every topic at the board, and while I don't read every topic at
this board either, I quite often see this. I am not particularly interested in being a mod here, however, I would, if asked, though I doubt I will be. I
do want to be a mod at the other board I go to... mainly because their merged topics are even worse; that is, there's less in total, but NOT ONE of them are merged or closed upon duplicate topic.
And this topic? There is nothing wrong with it. He did not say, "Petition here to be a mod," he did not say, ~"I want to be a mod please make me one!!!!!!,"~ if he was not a n00b, I would say he was simply curious as to who had interest in it or what people thought. However, since he is one, it may not be that way, but it is still how the topic is presented, therefore, there is nothing wrong with it.
I honestly don't think there's anything wrong with asking to be a mod anyway (or offering), except in the case that on this board we just have one or two main mods and don't have 10 monitoring the board. But in general, saying, "I would like to be a mod," is not bad. Petitioning it, getting mad (especially with "mad emoticons" :P) when nobody responds or when people say no, or actually expecting to get it when you type improperly and SPAM on purpose is bad. And stupid. But when a perfectly respectable member asks to be a mod or mentions that they're interested when the board is looking for new mods (or to change them), that should be accepted. (Not necessarily chosen, but just that the fact that they requested/offered is accepted.) Not everyone is "power-hungry." Some people just see a lot of rules being broken or topics not being closed and moved.

It's dead :P.
