Ok, so I was on gamespot and I looked up metal gear solid. I saw there were two versions of both number 2 and 3. Why is that?

Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance and Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistance are like special editions of the games. Substance was released for the PS2 and Xbox and featured many neat VR (Virtual Reality) missions and Snake\'s Tales (mini missions with Solid Snake). The core game was the same but now you could get in on the Xbox.

Subsistance (MGS3\'s special edition) featured not only the extra mini-missions and VR mode but it also had a new, 3rd person, revolving camera. This fixed the camera issues and made the game perfect (IMO).

If you don\'t have either of the games go for the Sub re-releases. They are a bit more refined.

I'm older school than you are.

Yeah, they included the new thermal goggles in Substance too, a step above.

Subsistance (which I have yet to get) has a better online mode aswell. That camera issue being solved is good even though I hardly noticed it.

I'd like to add also that there are videos in Subsistance that can only be seen on Konami.com.

Don't forget the kickass Evolution Skateboarding demo featured in Substance, starring Snake and Raiden.

Snake doing a 50/50 Grind at 90 mph = win.
