It takes between revenge of the sith and a new hope, but I heard they aren\'t going to have anybody important like Vader.

Actually, there are two upcoming TV shows: the first one will be done with live actors and will cover some of the events that happen between Episode 3 and 4. However, it\'s goal will be to focus on different characters, and hopefully show us something beyond the Skywalkers and crew.

The second show will be more similar to the Clone Wars (read here: drawn), although expanded to fill a standard TV slot time. I\'m not sure where it fits in the timeline, but I think it\'s still related to the Clone Wars era.

Hopefully no Hayden Christensen on the live one. I\'d rather jump off a cliff than have to watch his wooden puppet acting again. Ditto with Samuel L. Jackson.

How the hell does Hayden Christensen get all the flak about acting here, while Keanu Reaves gets off completey unscathed?

Hell, Hayden may have come off as having weak moods that swung too fast, but at least he wouldn\'t have been outdone by a plank with a mean face painted on it!

Ehh Mega.X I don\'t remember Keanu Reeves ever being in STar Wars although you do raise a point.

My thoughts precisely. What is wrong with Hayden\'s OR Samuel L Jackson\'s acting? I have only once seen Keanu Reeves play a credible character and then he was just an ordinary apparently featureless doctor. However, his role as Neo was so...emotionless, so...monotonal, if you understand what I mean.

Seconded. At least he tries to convey emotions, not be stuck in a state of: \"Whoa\".

Keanu Reeves just needs some work on actually conveying emotions and not be so... flat. (He does convey emotions, but... they\'re so muted compared to other people\'s. He only slightly got better in Constatine(sp) but still NEEDS work. Blerg.)

Good question.

Though, there was already a Star Wars christmas special... a very long time ago.

(I\'ve never seen this one at all.)

Wikipedia to the rescue!!!!

The Star Wars Holiday Special was a two-hour television special (including commercials) set in the Star Wars galaxy. It was broadcast one time only on Friday, November 17, 1978 on CBS-TV from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Eastern Standard Time (EST). In it, Chewbacca and Han Solo visit Kashyyyk, Chewbacca\'s home world, to celebrate Life Day. Along the way, they are pursued by agents of the Galactic Empire who are searching for rebels on the planet. The special introduces three members of Chewbacca\'s family: his father Itchy, his wife Malla, and his son Lumpy.

The main storyline of the film, which is set in 0 ABY, transpires on the Wookiee home planet of Kashyyyk. During the course of the film, scenes also take place in outer space and in such spacecraft as the famous Millennium Falcon and an Imperial Star Destroyer. The variety-show segments and cartoon introduce a few other locales, such as a cantina on the desert planet of Tatooine and a water planet known as Panna.

The program also features some cameos (although the cameo actors are listed as stars) by other Star Wars characters, including Luke Skywalker, C-3PO, R2-D2, Darth Vader, and Princess Leia (who sings the film\'s \"theme song\", set to the music of John Williams\' Star Wars theme, near the end). The program is probably best known for an animated cartoon produced by Toronto-based Nelvana that introduces, for the first official time in the Star Wars universe, the bounty hunter Boba Fett. It was the first film produced of three official Star Wars spin-off films. Though the program received excellent ratings for its one-time airing, Star Wars creator George Lucas, who created its original story, removed his story credit from the special. Despite disagreements over its quality, this film is considered the first canonical sequel to A New Hope.

Apparently though, according to several people, the Christmas special is absolutely horrible to watch. If you like the Star Wars universe, it might be a good idea to skip this to avoid ruining your opinion of the series. I managed to avoid that beast so far.

A horrible Star Wars, and for the holidays. What kind of inhuman mix is that?

Ahhh Keanu might act better if he just lays off the crack.

I thought Samuel L\'s performance was godawful in the Star Wars prequels. And it was especially sad coming from an actor such as himself. I can let the bad acting go with the newbies, but him?

I thought he was pretty good. He was better than Natalie Portman. I didn\'t like his character, but that\'s just as the story goes, isn\'t it?

Natalie Protman had worse mood swings than Anakin in a way, but ANakin had the worst lines ever I think the original script went like this.
ANakin: Obi-wan your a meanie!

Obi-wan: Don\'t give into the dark side *insert redundant rest of warning here*

Seriously if anything the movie was revenge of the crappy dialogue.
