A friend recently called me on the phone saying that he\'d heard on the news that the sleek PS3 is going to be released in 2007 and will cost an estimated $900! Does anybody know if this is true? If so, THATS WAAAAYYYYY TOO MUCH!!!:eek:

When i read a PSM magazine it said it would be around $500 funny how the next generation consoles are gonna rob money from pockets lol.

People were saying the PSP was going to be 500 bucks and guess what? It was 250 bucks!

I remember reading a newspaper article estimating the PS3\'s hardware to cost $500 or more, and saying Sony was gutting some of the capabilities to make it more affordable.

Estimates are only based on the console specs and hardware costs. Also keep in mind that companies are willing to sell consoles AT A LOSS (namely Microsoft with their Xbox and Xbox 360)

My guess so far judging by the announced tech specs would be $450-esque pricing. Windy is right in terms of the value the Xbox 360 was supposed to have movie like graphics, THE HELL WITH THAT, the PS3\'s hardware has superior tech everywhere.

I refuse to sell my consoles just to buy a new one.

(I could always ha ha ha ha ask Silver to get me a PS3 for a late birthday/early christmas present...)

I did not play the blame game NewWindRider; I\'m just gullible that\'s all. This kid said he had his Barmitzfa money stolen when I knew at the time (yet didn\'t realize it at the time) that he was, in fact, a Christian. Also he said that he was moving away once. ( I didn\'t believe THAT one) He and I play a game of fooling one another into believing rediculous crap; I just accidently got you all involved. sorry, but that is the truth whether you like it or not!

Thinking about it, I noticed that PSX and PS2 were both priced the same when they first came out... $299.

(PSX came out in 1995 while PS2 came out in 2000...)

So, really, I wouldn\'t be surprised if it was close to $299.
