You are not insane. You are just mildly annoying.
I must say that I agree with Flareman on the moderation thing. Yes, there are a few members who can help by pointing members in the right direction. But I think it only works if that\'s all it is: pointing them in the right direction. I think that it becomes more of a problem when you\'re just telling people what to do.
Although helping a member in the right direction is good, on the whole it needs to be left to the mods. Otherwise we\'d all have lock buttons
