This kid is in 5/6th grade. That makes him (provided he spent one year in each grade) 10/11. It is natural for 10 year olds to have a rival. I\'m no homophobe, but I think that the fact that you want to turn this into the secret love between two small boys is more than slightly desturbing.

Also, does that mean that you have rendered that whole thing between Lan and Mayl redundant now, then? (Does that ColourMan fiasco jog your memory?)

I use the term fangirl to define the ones obsessed with yaoi and shounen-ai, a.k.a. the ones that usually are obsessed with males appearing dressed as females or looking exactly LIKE females which makes no sense..or at least, to the naked eye. I do believe these girls are afraid of masculinity, so in order to make the gender they approve of \"safe\" to enjoy, they remove all masculine aspects of the characters.

Also of course, girls are more into the relationships of characters (this of course isn\'t fully true, I know quite a few Alia fanboys that are stupid enough to play a Megaman game to try and see a relationship blossom)..and most likely find it difficult to have a female character with a male they \"love\". (Fangirls are very jealous and possessive of fictional characters) So they pair their beloved character with a \"fuckbuddy\" so to speak, from the same fandom or maybe a crossover, whoever\'s \"cute\" or \"sexy\" enough.

Not all yaoi fangirls are like this, though. Some are perfectly sane and realize that the characters aren\'t real and probably not gay either. They understand it\'s fantasy.

On the opposite end of the spectrum is the fangirls who say they\'re pregnant with fictional characters babies, and \"RP\" storylines like this, \"marry\" fictional characters and so on.

Please note that there are males like this too, it\'s just that they\'re not encountered as often. ...yes, there is the idea of male pregnancy around, haven\'t you been to SomethingAwful?
