No, no. Sure, it was off-color, and it was inappropriate to be sure, but it was a little funny.

Okay, I\'m taking you to the mental institution.

Why? Because he stated fact? In Africa, in the most AIDS-infested region of the world, there is a superstition that if you have sex with a virgin, your AIDS will be cured... so... people actually break into houses, and they do rape small children and infants. Not only are they not cured, they often pass the disease to the children.

Actually, I have to say this is probably the best response in this topic. The only thing this poem can really do(or should do) is make people realize how lucky they are that didn\'t happen to them. (and if anyone says it did, you\'ll have to teach me how to return from the dead. )

Terrible things happen every day around the world. Thinking about it or knowing that it\'s out there doesn\'t do anything.

See, THESE are the kind of places that can use our democratic influence... Let\'s pull our troops out of Iraq allready and get back to doing charitable work like we\'re SUPPOSED to.

But we can\'t go in to Iraq, demolish them, and then leave..they\'ll just get another dictator. We made the bed, we\'ve gotta lie in it!

But yeah, Shadowfire knows what\'s goin on, and that\'s exactly what I was talking about.

I never posted this to change the world. Who do you think I am? Bob Geldof? No, I did it to raise awareness and that it was a particularly good poem in that it did what it set out to do: sit there being moving.

I do think that the jokes you made were a little sick, to say the least. True, this is not the be-all and end-all of the world, and there is not an awful lot that we can indevidually do unless we know people who are abused, but seeing as it is a problem that many children face I think it is in very bad taste to make light of it.

However funny it may have been :P

I never made light of the problem of child abuse. I made light of the poem. :)

So true, and if we had never gone, we\'d all be laying in a pile of toxic rubble after getting nuked. I really don\'t understand why some people say it was a bad idea....They must have been the kids in highschool that got shoved into lockers and never did anything about it.

ANYWAY..back on topic. I think the biggest reason of child abuse has to do with drugs and alcohol, when some people get drunk, they do some pretty sick things. I\'m not saying we should ban the stuff, but people should use it wisely, and not abuse it.

Nice joke.[/sarcasm]

Yes please, don\'t turn this into an Iraq war topic, I\'m sure somehow that would turn into a Christian debate topic then a giant flamewar. I\'m almost certain of it... I can smell it coming.

You know, a 3 year old zombie would be very frightening with the oversized head and all.

My God can beat up your god!

But yeah, child abuse is a terrible thing. But what can we do about it if we don\'t know anybody who is involved with this sort of situation?

Exactly, we can\'t do jack, hence the silliness of this poem. No offense of course.

It\'s just like..making a poem about potholes.

I am a 10 month old car
I know you love me so
But today you decided
to drive me in snow!

It\'s the middle of February
And we\'re driving in DC
But you just don\'t know
How bad these roads are for me

As we drove to the Capitol
A nice Sunday drive
You were in the side lane
Where eighteen-wheelers thrive

\"Ah, what a lovely day..\"
You said with a sigh
But you didn\'t know
That today I would die

Soon after that
I spotted a pile of snow
If only I had a voice
So I could say \"Whoa!\"

But you noticed this problem
And swerved to the right
I was relieved
Until I saw the sight...

A pothole was there
It seemed three feet deep!
If only I had legs
Just so I could leap

But leap I could not
And my wheel went down
Deep into this hole
I feel as I could drown

Filled with water
Covered with snow
This pothole was hidden
And now you know

This caused a chain reaction
Other cars crashed into me
This ruined my engine
And even a cherry tree

All I can hope
Is that this poem has
Given you knowledge
To prevent a car crash

Edit: Man I forgot a letter.
