Yo people! Thought I could keep myself from writing? I don't think so! Can't simply resist the temptation!

Anyway, here it is! I just made up a simple title. Can you make a better one?

Successors Of Their Legacy

Disclaimer: All MegaMan characters are belong to Capcom.

Author’s Notes: I would appreciate it if you send me ideas for Navis, human characters, chips, viruses and chapter ideas. I might just be able to use them, and you'll help me out a lot, as I'll be able to write more, and have to spend less time on thinking up stuff!

Enjoy!

-----------------------------------------------------------

Chapter One – The Fire

His name was Yamato Umisotsu. His age was 12. His residence was on the outskirts of Hatten Town.

But, most importantly for Yamato at the moment, he needed to run like hell…

“Almost there, almost there! I’m going to make it! I’m going to make it!” He encouraged himself as he ran down the stairs at the train station.

“I’m going to make it! Yes, I am! I’m almost there!” Just a few more yards and he’d be there.

Fwoosh. Train gone. Chance missed.

“Mrs. Chishiki is so going to kill me.” Yamato whined.

His name was Yamato Umisotsu. His age was 12. And today, he was going to be late for school…

--- --- --- --- ---

He was a skinny boy from 6th grade, and he was about 5 feet tall. He had dark brown hair, almost black. His eyes were an icy blue. He had his last name from his Electopian mother, whom he lived with. (A/N: Electopia is Battle Network’s Japan.) His parents had been divorced since he was little.
Everyday, Yamato rode his bicycle for half a mile to get to the train station. From there he got on the train to the other side of town where the school was.

--- --- --- --- ---

When he walked through the corridors of school, he kept thinking up excuses his teacher might buy, or a way he could sneak in without her noticing. He reached the door of his classroom. 6-F, it stood above it, in big black letters. Yamato took a deep breath and reached for the handle. Right before he could open the door, the alarm went off. Caught by surprise, Yamato jumped up, away from the door, and fell on his bottom.

“Ouch!” He cried out.

“Hey, what’s that noise?” A voice came from out of Yamato’s pocket. “Can’t a Navi get some extra sleep?”

Yamato wanted to respond, but his words went unheard as the halls were flooded with students and their teachers trying to make a way out of the building. Yamato shrugged and quickly got in the line of his own class. He sighed. Now Mrs. Chishiki, his Japanese teacher, would never know he had been to late. He laughed because of that, and followed the rest of his class outside.

“Hey, Yamato.” He heard someone saying to him. He turned his head to the left, and saw that the person who had spoken was one of his friends, Alise. She was a girl just a little smaller than him, but she was also younger. She had blonde hair, over shoulder-length and light, yellowish green eyes. Alise came from a quite wealthy family, who owned several shops around the country.

“Oh, hi Alise! What happened just now?” Yamato asked her.

“I don’t know for sure.” Alise replied. “But we saw smoke through the window coming from another classroom. I don’t think this is a really big accident or something.”

“Phew. That’s good to hear.” Yamato whistled between his teeth.

“Yeah. But you know what’s the best thing is?” Alise said.

“No.”

“We won’t have lessons for this morning anymore!” Alise said cheerfully.

“Silence in the back, children!” Mrs. Chishiki shouted to them from the front of the row.

--- --- --- --- ---

A hollow laughter echoed through the Net.

“This is something we should have done way sooner!” A green Navi cried out in joy as he shot of several rockets with the huge rocket launcher that was his right arm, which then destroyed large parts of the area, and send several pieces of debris flying. The destructive maniac let out another bursting laughter of his insane joy.

His torso was covered in a thick kind of green body armour over his black body suit. On the sides of his body suit ran a pair of two thin grey lines. His right arm was designed to be a double rocket launcher, his left arm was a normal one in a heavy black-and-green gauntlet, of which the fingers grey. His boots were thick and heavy, and green as well, of course, with grey stripes running over them. The power pack on his back was quite large for a Navi of his size. He was just a little larger than the usual, non-customized Navis. At the top of the sides of his power pack sprouted two large black-and-green spikes which bended backwards, and a little upwards, into half of a circle. On top of his quite basic-designed helmet were two crests that bended backwards and ended in two small, grey spikes.

The Navi was surprised by someone shouting: “Hold it right there!”

The rocket-armed Navi turned around to see a group of little more than a dozen security Navis, most of them of a quite basic design.

“So, you’ve come to stop the great RocketMan?” The rocker-armed Navi snickered. “Well, finally some real action!” RocketMan lifted his right arm and started shooting his rockets at the group without taking care to aim. Rockets flew through the air, Navis trying desperately to dodge them, and a Navi by the name of RocketMan standing in the middle, laughing maniacally.

--- --- --- --- ---

All the classes were now standing outside of the school, on the other side of the street, were they should go when there was a fire inside the school. Smoke circled upwards towards the skies from the large building. The students and their teachers stared in shock at what was happening. Flames were becoming visible, and it was spreading. Now the smoke came not only from the left side of the building, but on the right side, smoke started to come out of several windows as well. Yamato could feel the air around him becoming hotter already, too.

“That looks pretty bad.” Yamato whispered to Alise. You could hear he was frightened.

“You can say that again.” The girl whispered back. Mrs. Chishiki didn’t allowed to talk.

They were silent for a while, staring at the smoke rising from their school.

“Oh no!” Yamato remembered something. “The school’s animals are still inside!”

“You’re right!” Alise said. “The firemen should get them out there quickly!”

“I’m not going to wait for that!” Yamato said. He looked if any of the teachers were watching them. When he saw that all of them were talking to each other and looking at the school, he made a run for it.

“Yamato!” Alise yelled to him. “Come back you idiot! It’s too dangerous!”

Dangerous, my butt! Yamato thought. It’s just a fire, nothing else!

Once Yamato was inside, he opened the first door leading to a classroom. “No animals in here.” He said.

He opened the next door. “None here, either.”

The one after that might have had some animals in it. “Nope.”

The next one? “No.”

The one after that? “Nein.”

That one? “Njet.”

One last try before he’d give up: “Yeah!”

Yamato ran over the cages of the classroom’s birds and opened them. He watched as the beautiful creatures with their feathers shining in blue, green and red fly through the window. Away! Away from the fire, the danger.

After that, Yamato quickly returned to the hallway and started looking for other animals still stuck inside their classrooms.

--- --- --- --- ---

A phone rang. It was in the middle of the city. Cars were coming by at high speeds. Ring ring, ring ring. It went on like that for quite a while before it was picked up.

“Hello?”

I see you’re still in the business.” The person on the other side of the line spoke.

“Just tell me what I need to know.” The hooded man who had picked up the phone said.

Very well then. I assume you know of the so-called Runabout Rocket?

The hooded man kept silent for a moment, before he spoke again: “Tell me more of this.”

--- --- --- --- ---

Yamato tried another door. “This… will be… the last…” He panted. The heat was claiming his energy. He pushed against the door, but it wouldn’t budge. He pushed a little harder.

“It’s… blocked.” He concluded. He took a few steps backwards and then stormed at the door. His body knocked against it, didn’t open, and he fell to the ground.

“Ow… my head…” He uttered. The door shrieked. He looked up and saw it opened… it was a pull door.

“Heh… stupid.”

When he had opened the door, he saw that the inside was roaring with flames. Yamato backed away and tried to shield himself from the heat with his arms, although that didn’t help much.

“Maybe I should just go back.” Yamato muttered to himself. He wanted to turn around but then heard a noise coming from the classroom. It was a faint noise, but it made him stop in his tracks and, after a deep breath, go back into the classroom.

Throughout the entire classroom, flames where roaring about. Everything that isn’t on fire in there, doesn’t exist. Yamato thought frightened for a short moment. He then heard the faint noise again. It came from the furthest corner, behind a bookcase and near the windows. Yamato tried to make his way to it, but a part of the ceiling came crashing down in flame, blocking his path. Yamato took a few steps back and then ran forward and jumped over the burning wood. The flames burned his ankles and blackened his shoes, but he made it in whole. When he got to the bookcase, he looked behind it, and saw a small creature hiding behind it in the little shadow that was left. He saw something he held for fur shining with sweat. He climbed on top of the bookcase and reached for the poor thing.

“Here, kitty kitty…” Yamato said to it. The creature only crawled away from him more.

The heat was starting to become nigh unbearable, if it wasn’t already. Another part of the ceiling collapsed near where Yamato was, debris flew around and broke the bookcase. Yamato fell, and that enabled him to grab the creature that was hiding.

“Gotcha!” Yamato cried softly. Before he could retreat, the floor he was standing on collapsed too, and he fell downwards with the creature in his hands and a lot of burning debris.

--- --- --- --- ---

“So you’re saying you let a young boy go in there?” A fireman asked Mrs. Chishiki.

“I didn’t see it until it was too late, sir! Please get him out of there, quickly!” Mrs. Chishiki replied.

“We’ll see what we can do.”

Very nice, looking forward to the second, and hell. I don't like the BN series.

Aside from that, why do you guys not do it in paragraph form? Like you'd be writing an english paper, ah..expository writing, or was it descriptive..I can't remember, but yeah.

Eh, it's good enough for creative writing. At least it's not script form.

Pretty good Morph, hope you finnish this one. It seems to have alot of potential, just like the others. Wouldn't this be your third attempt though. Zero's Bad Day, Battle Network X The Next Generation, and this.

Now THAT is complimentary! :D
But what do you mean by 'paragraph form'?

Me: "I have NO idea what you're talking about!" *smacks head on table trying to figure it out what Mega X means* :P

Of course I'm kidding. Script's aren't much good.

It took Yamato some time to orientate himself again. He was underneath the school, he presumed. It was much less hot in here, and no fire at all, except the debris that he had fallen down with. He tried to get up, but he felt something pressing against his chest. He looked down and saw a small cat poking it’s head out of his shirt.

“Hey, you little coward.” Yamato joked. He waved his right index finger in front of the cat.

“Don’t get stuck in burning schools again, okay?” As a response, the little cat meowed at him, before it got out of his shirt and jumped on the floor. Yamato then got up and looked around. A pair of computers stood around, maybe this was were they watched over school with security cameras, Yamato thought. One of the computers screen was on, and flickered red, then green, then blue, then red again…

Yamato walked over to the computer. He stared at the screen, switching colours for a few times, before he lifted up his fist and landed it hard on top of it. The screen then stabilised, showing a picture of what looked like the Net. Yamato didn’t go there much, or rather, he didn’t have his Navi go there much. One reason was that Yamato didn’t feel like going there, another was that his Navi was just about the representation of Sloth.
Yamato accidentally touched the mouse, and the screen’s view moved. That also moved Yamato’s interest.

“I can wait until I go outside.” He said to himself. “There isn’t a way out of here right now, so I guess I can just get comfortable.” He sat down on the chair in front of the computer and moved the mouse around some more, viewing the inside of the Net. It didn’t take long before he took notice of clouds full of smoke, and the silhouette of someone, a Navi or a virus maybe, who was standing inside the smoke.

“The Net is on fire, too?” Yamato said surprised. “Awkward.”

“What’s going on?” He heard someone yawning. Yamato sighed, and took a small green case from his pocket. It was his PET.

“You’ve been sleeping through all of it, haven’t you?” Yamato accused his Navi. “That’s it. You’re going on the Net now and tell me what’s going on there.”

“But I don’t want to!” His Navi whined.

“Yes, you are.” Yamato glared at the PET’s screen. It didn’t take long before it’s inhabitant gave in. “Okay then…”

“That’s more like it.” Yamato smiled. “Alright then…” Yamato took the PET and aimed the infra-red sensor at the Jack-In Port. However, he hesitated.

“What’s wrong?” The Navi asked.

“How did the other kids do this again?” Yamato asked.

“I may be lazy, but you are just plain apathetic!” The Navi cried out. “Just yell ‘Jack In!’, ‘Upload: Navi!’ or something like that!”

“Well, it was one of those two things you just said.”

“Then just go by one.”

“Alright then. Upload: Buster!” Yamato aimed the PET’s sensor at the Port again, now putting his Navi inside the computer’s network.

“So, what do you want me to do, sir?” Yamato’s Navi, named Buster, asked.

“I want you to find out who is causing this fire, my servant!”

“Sir, yes sir.” Buster yawned one more time before taking a good look around. He noticed a large cloud of smoke, from which a lot of noise came, so he cautiously walked up to there. When he had reached it, he couldn’t see a thing. He stretched his arms out in front of him so that he wouldn’t bump his head against something he couldn’t see. In a not too long time, he found another Navi, whom he almost had bumped into. The noise almost immediately stopped.

“Oh, sorry! I couldn’t see you.” Buster apologized.

“Doesn’t matter.” The other Navi turned around. Because the smoke was starting to clear, Buster could faintly notice a wide grin on the other’s face.

“Uh, is something wrong?” Buster said.

“Not for me, there is.” The Navi spoke, and his grin grew even wider. “For you, on the other hand…” Buster then felt something pushing against his belly, and when he looked down he saw a large rocket launcher. He looked up at the other Navi again, now a little afraid.

“I… think I’ll be going now.” Buster said.

“Oh, yes, you will.” The Navi snickered. Shortly after followed a large explosion, and Buster was blown away by it.

“May I introduce!” The Navi said aloud as he stepped out of the smoke that the explosion had caused. “RocketMan. But also…” He stopped for a moment to laugh. “…your doom!”

RocketMan then jumped in the air. “Airshoes, Battle Chip in! Download!” The chip he had downloaded made him fly in the air. He aimed his rocket launcher at Buster and fired. “Rocket Burst!” A rocket flew at Buster, who jumped out of it’s way, and it exploded when it hit the ground.

“Are you alright, Buster?” Yamato asked.

“Fine enough for now.” Buster replied. “Care to send me something I could use?”

“Alright then.” Yamato put his hand in his pocket and pulled out some Battle Chips. “Let’s see what this one will do for you: Sword, Battle Chip in! Download!”

As Yamato inserted the chip into the PET, Buster’s right hand morphed into a small, white sword.

“Thanks. Now it’ll go a lot better.” Buster stood up and started running towards RocketMan, while he kept screaming, and his eyes closed.

“Holy Giga Chips! Never got an easier and more willing target than you!” RocketMan laughed as he fired another rocket at Buster, which exploded on impact.

“Buster!” Yamato yelled.

“I’m alright.” He heard Buster saying. “I could use some healing, though.”

“Gotcha. Recovery10, Battle Chip in! Download!” The chip healed a bit of Buster’s wounds, but not by much.

“You seriously need to get some better chips, Yamato.” Buster said.

“Speak for yourself!” Yamato shot back. “I’m a collector, and keep my chips where it’s safest: not with me.”

“Whatev—” Buster couldn’t finish his sentence as another rocket explosion blew him into the air.

“Talking won’t do you much good, especially during a battle!” RocketMan said.

“Then let our Battle Chips speak for us! Cannon, Battle Chip in! Download!” As soon as Buster received the chip he launched a few shots at RocketMan and hit him.

“Pfft! If that’s all you got…” RocketMan said. “It’s time to finish you off! Nuke, Mega Chip in! Download!” RocketMan’s body started to give of a bright green glow, and all over his body, several small dark purple bulbs appeared. His rocket launcher and the rest of his right arm re-formed into a huge cannon that was larger than the Navi carrying it.

“Time to say goodbye!” RocketMan laughed. Then he fired his attack at Buster.

Right before the huge rocket would crash into Buster and delete him and everything around him, another Navi jumped in front of him and held his arms out in front of him.

“Dark Hole, Battle Chip in! Download!” A hole appeared in mid-air and swallowed the rocket entirely.

“I’m sorry, but the curtain is about to fall for you.” The Navi said. He was quite tall, a red-coloured. His gloves and boots went up to his elbows and knees and were very thick, and of a darker red colour than the rest of his body. His helmet’s design looked most like that of a fighter-airplane’s pilot with a very dark green visor, almost black. His torso seemed more like a large kind of cannon than that of a normal Navi’s. At the place where the hole where the blasts of the cannon would come out would have been, had it been a real cannon, was his icon: it was the same as a that of a Cannon chip, but red, and with a dark green background.

“Well,” RocketMan replied. “there are still some acts to come! Hi-Cannon, Battle Chip in! Download!”

“Hi-Cannon, eh? You’re going to try and beat CannonMan, the master of cannons, on his area of expertise? Very well then! Mega-Cannon!” CannonMan morphed his right hand into a Mega-Cannon and fired several blasts to intercept those of his opponent before striking a few hits on him.

“Come on, Buster!” Yamato said to his Navi. “Sneak around them so you can attack RocketMan from the back while he’s distracted!”

“Roger! Copy that.” Buster kept close to the ground and started to move around CannonMan and RocketMan. However, he didn’t escape the latter’s attention.

“Where do you think you are going?” RocketMan said as he fired at Buster. Buster protected himself with a Barrier Yamato had slotted in.

“Oh, nowhere.”

“Darn right you’re going nowhere. Aack!” RocketMan exclaimed. He was hit in the back.

“Never turn your back on an opponent, young padawan.” CannonMan taunted.

RocketMan growled at this remark. “Alright then, Mr. Obi-Wannabe Kenobi! Show me what you got! Icicle Rocket, Battle Chip in! Download!” RocketMan fired off a rocket at Buster. Buster was unable to dodge the attack, and it hit it, trapping him inside a large icicle.

“What is…” Buster uttered.

“Now you! Seeker Rocket, Battle Chip in! Download!” RocketMan fired another rocket, this time at CannonMan.

“Another Rocket, huh?” CannonMan said. “Don’t you learn?”

CannonMan jumped away from his spot. However, the Seeker Rocket changed direction, and went after him. Hitting him with full force, CannonMan was knocked away several feet. The damaged CannonMan sank down on one knee.

“Oh.” He simply said, panting.

“That was unexpected, huh?” RocketMan laughed.

“Not by much.” CannonMan said. At that moment, another Navi logged in.

“Need some help?” He said. He wasn’t much taller than Buster, a Navi in a black bodysuit with a spike on top of his red helmet with a black visor. His gloves and boots were red as well, and he wore red armour over his torso, with his icon on the centre of his chest: a white and a black halve, forming a lightning-shape where they met in the middle.

“I would appreciate it, to say the least.” CannonMan said relieved.

“Good.” The red Navi held his right arm crossed over his chest and morphed it into a sword. “You log out for now.”

“Good luck.” CannonMan said as he logged out.

The red Navi smiled. “I don’t need something as ‘luck’ for this one.”

“Ahh.” RocketMan said. “Fresh meat! This is getting more and more interesting by the minute!”

“And in the next one, you shall have been deleted.” The red Navi said.

“What?!” This enraged RocketMan. “Oh no, I won’t! Rocket Burst!”

RocketMan fired another one of his rockets, now at the red Navi. The red Navi braced himself, and right before the rocket would hit, he slashed his blade upwards, destroying the rocket.

“What?!”

“Next stop: deletion.” The red Navi said calmly. He started running at RocketMan and before he would run straight underneath him, he jumped up and held his sword beside his left leg. As he passed RocketMan, he slashed him with his blade, before landing safely behind him.

“You…” RocketMan uttered as his data was beginning to break apart. “this is… not… the end!” He yelled the last two words out loud as his head disappeared in a cloud of data.

“It’s done.” The red Navi said.

“Good.” A voice said, probably the Navi’s operator. “Free the other one and then log out.”

“Yes sir.” The Navi then walked up to Buster, who was still trapped inside the icicle. He swung his blade and destroyed the icicle, freeing Buster. Buster dropped to the ground and gasped.

“Thank you.” Buster said.

“It’s my job.” The red Navi replied. “Nothing more. You better log out now.” He then logged out himself.

“Alright.” Buster returned to his PET. “Did you see that Yamato? Did you see that? What a guy was that! Yamato?” Buster looked at his operator. Yamato’s head rested upon the desk, and the basement was filled with smoke and flame.

“YAMATO!”

END OF CHAPTER ONE

Yamato: In the next episode, we find ourselves in the hospital.

Buster: Zzz…

Yamato: Buster… Buster? BUSTER!

Buster: Zzz, huh? What’s going on?

Yamato: We’re supposed to review the coming chapter.

Buster: We are?

Yamato: Yes.

Buster: Well, dung. I don’t want to. I’m going home.

Yamato: Hey, wait up!

What will happen in the next episode? Will our newfound “heroes” come across another villain? Will Buster de-slothify? Will they fall into a large plothole? And will they find out what Battle Chips are best to use in a folder? You will find out, next time, on SUCCESSORS OF THEIR LEGACY, EPISODE 2: HOSPITALIZED!

Episode Two - Hospitalized

“Mr. Umisotsu? Mr. Umisotsu?! Mr. Umisotsu!” Yamato opened his eyes when he heard someone yelling his name.

“Huh?” He blinked a couple of times, there was a bright light shining straight into his eyes.

“Where am I?”

“Obvious question.” The person who had called his name said half-laughing. “You’re in the St. Hatten Hospital. You looked quite awful when that fireman brought you in.”

“Fire… Man?” Yamato asked, still feeling weird in the head.

“Yeah. Strange. That man took you all the way from that school of yours, instead of having you picked up by an ambulance. They should have a law against that.”

“Can I…” Yamato said, getting the doctor’s attention again. “Can I go home now?”

“I’m sorry, but I can’t have you do that.” The doctor replied. “Your wounds need to heal first.”

Then Yamato noticed both of his arms and legs were covered in bandages. “Oh.”

--- --- --- --- ---

On a dark place, far away from those where most people would prefer to be, a gathering took place.

“So… RocketMan has been deleted?” One of the few figures there spoke.

“It appears that way.” Another said. “It doesn’t matter. They was acting on his own. It is not of our concern.”

“Good. On to the next point on the agenda: what will be the next mission.” A third voice said.

“I have got a list on the places where The Keys can be found.” The first spoke again. He showed the others a screen on which a map was shown with several red dots on it. Next to it was a list of the places marked with the red dots.

“I suggest we take this place first.” The figure pointed at one of the red dots. “The security is fairly tight, but only in a few places in that area. But that shouldn’t be a problem.”

“Indeed. Plus, we will show the Officials how serious we are.” The second person said.

“Then it is decided.” A fourth figure stepped forward and put his finger on the red dot. “The hospital will be our next target.”

--- --- --- --- ---

Yamato was lying in bed, bored. He had tried to find something interesting on TV, but no success. Now the remote control was lying at his feet, the last programme he had tried to follow still on the screen. Yamato almost wanted to scream out of frustration.

“Man, I’m bored.” He said to himself.

No reaction. What else could be expected? The nurses were busy, he was alone in his room, and Buster… oh, Buster. Nothing else could be expected from him, but to be asleep.

“Please, God, save me from death through boredom! Please, give me a sign!”

Yamato heard someone laughing. In the opening of the door stood a girl.

“What are you laughing at?” Yamato said to the girl.

“What else?” Yamato had no idea why he was being laughed at, but then he found out that, as he had been speaking, he had sat up and stretched his arms out at the ceiling.

The girl walked to the end of his bed. She appeared a little older than him, perhaps one, two years older, but not more, he thought. She had shoulder-length, raven-black hair. A large piece of hair covered her eyes for quite a bit, but he could see they were of a dark blue to black colour. Her skin was quite pale from not going outside much, and her left arm rested in a cloth that was also tied around her neck.

“So, what happened to you?” The girl asked him.

“I… don’t really know.” Yamato answered truthfully. “I was inside the school when it was on fire. After a while, I just blacked out and then I woke up here.”

“Oh.” The girl didn’t seem to buy it.

“But why are you here actually?” Yamato said, emphasizing the word ‘you’.

“Oh. Well…” The girl held up her arm. “Car accident. It looked much worse some time ago. I’m here for about a month now.”

“A month!?” Yamato almost shouted in surprise.

“Yeah. I still need to have an operation done in a few hours. But I don’t mind. You can make schoolwork here, too, and there is enough to play with.” The girl said. “Anyway, I got to go in shortly, nice talking to you.”

“Yeah, nice talking to you too.” Yamato said.

As the girl left the room, a doctor entered it.

“Good day, Mr. Umisotsu.” He said to Yamato. “I’m Dr. Archer and I’m here to make sure you leave this hospital ASAP, so work with me, and no harm will be done. Agreed?”

“Um, yes, I suppose so.” Yamato answered.

“Good.” Dr. Archer put a small pot filled with pills on the small wooden table next to Yamato’s bed. “You take one of these twice a day during your stay. One in the morning, one in the evening. Any questions?”

“Where is the bathroom?” Yamato asked.

“It’s around the corner at the end of the hall.” Dr. Archer answered. “Alright, I’ll be going now. Good day, Mr. Umisotsu.” The doctor then left the room.

“What a formal guy.” Yamato muttered. He took a look at the pot filled with pills and then at the clock. It was 6 PM. Had he been asleep for that long? Yamato decided he would take the pills within the hour, even though he had no idea what they were for, actually.

--- --- --- --- ---

A young blonde girl was walking around the hospital. She was lost, obviously, so she decided to ask around were she needed to go.

“Excuse me, Ms. Nurse?” She asked the first nurse to come across. “Could you tell me in which room Yamato Umisotsu is?”

“I’m sorry, I don’t know.” The woman replied.

“Oh. I’m sorry I bothered you then.” Alise went on to continue her search. It didn’t take long before she found Yamato, who just came back from the toilet.

“Hey, Alise! Didn’t expect to see you here at this time.” He greeted.

“I came to check up on you. Are you alright?” She asked worried.

“I’m fine. Only a little… tied-up.” That remark made Alise laugh.

“Hey, that’s not funny!” Yamato said, his pride bruised. He only made Alise laugh more. They walked to the room were Yamato’s place was. However, even before they could go inside, the door slammed shut, and all the others as well.

“Hey!” Alise slammed with a fist against the doors. “Open! Open, Sesame, open!”

“Of course something like this happens when I go to the toilet and leave my PET behind.” Yamato sighed.

“Is something wrong?” A young man who just passed her asked Alise.

“Yes! When I wanted to go through these doors, they slammed shut!”

“Hm.” The young man looked thoughtful. “Let’s see then. Jack in, CannonMan! Power up!”

A blast of white lightning deposited the red Navi into the electronic door’s network.

“You know the problem, CannonMan?” The young man asked his Navi.

“Doors suddenly shut, I go find the problem. Simple.” The Navi answered his Operator.

“Okay then.” CannonMan started looking around for the problem. After a while, he reported back to his Operator.

“Sorry. I can’t find the source of this problem, and the network isn’t any bigger than…” Right then, he saw a small path that led to another part of the network.

“Hold that thought.” CannonMan walked up to the path. After taking a look at it, he decided to follow it.

--- --- --- --- ---

“Cut off all exits, my viruses.” A large green Navi commanded several small groups of viruses. His base looked like any other Navi’s would: human. Except, from his waist down, he was equine, horse-like. His hooves were large and thick, covering almost half a panel each. Both his human-part and horse-part were green, with the horse-part having a yellow belly and a yellow torso armour covered the back and front of his human-part. His head seemed a little too big for his body, compared to just the human-part, but his helmet was even bigger, with two small white horns sticking out of the sides of his helmet at the back, and one larger one centred above his eyes, and his eyes themselves were a soft dark crimson.

“CentaurMan, don’t forget what we are here for.” A voice coming from a small screen that appeared next to CentaurMan said. “Shutting all the doors is necessary, but don’t lose sight of our objective.”

“I won’t, sir.” CentaurMan answered politely. He overlooked everything, and suddenly he spotted an intruder.

“Chiron, sir, we have a virus deleter on our tail.”

“Then take him out of the way.”

“Indeed.” CentaurMan jumped down from his high position, right in front of CannonMan.

“Greetings, dear sir.” CentaurMan said. “You are here to delete these viruses, I presume?”

“That’s the thought.” CannonMan replied. “And I intend to carry out that task.”

CentaurMan smiled. “Good to see such determination.” His face hardened. “However, I’m afraid I can’t have that happen, as these viruses are placed under my command. And I don’t take the deletion of my… employees lightly.”

“That’s too bad then.” CannonMan said. “Because then I suppose you either find some new employees, or go down with them.”

“That be a challenge?” CentaurMan asked, knowing the answer.

“That be a challenge, yes.” CannonMan said.

CentaurMan laughed. “Very well then! Prepare to come known with the power of ancient Greek mythology!”

“Battle Routine: Set!”

Execute!

Aaaaaannnd... another update!

It seemed to me at first this one is shorter than the last, but then again, there is about as much text in here.

Enjoy!

-----------------------------------------------------------

“Mega Cannon!” CannonMan exclaimed, starting to fire of his cannon as he circled around his opponent.

“Centaur Arrow!” CentaurMan loaded an arrow onto his bow and fired it at CannonMan. It hit him in the shoulder, but CentaurMan himself didn’t go unscathed either. CannonMan then morphed his right hand into a Long Blade as the chip was inserted into his PET. He ran up to CentaurMan who pushed himself off the ground with his front legs, making him stand on his back ones, and he kicked the blade away before crunching CannonMan’s right arm underneath his hoof. CannonMan grunted in pain and kicked his opponent in his human-part’s stomach area, releasing his arm as Centaurman stepped away to recover from the kick.

“Hmm. You fight quite well.” CentaurMan commented.

“Perhaps, but I don’t have time to chat! Wrecking Ball, Battle Chip in! Download!” A large grey ball appeared in CannonMan’s hand and he threw it at CentaurMan. CentaurMan had little time to react, but turned his head and body a bit, and the Wrecking Ball hit the side of his helmet, and a few small cracks appeared where it had hit. CentaurMan turned his head back and looked at CannonMan.

“Sneaky. I hate that.” CentaurMan stretched his left arm out at his side and large, thick bow of a deep pink, actually more a reddish violet, colour, appeared as his Operator had downloaded the chip.

“Bow Of Apollo!” CentaurMan exclaimed as he loaded an arrow onto the bow. He held his left arm stretched out with the bow in his hand and his right hand beside his face, with the arrow loaded on the bow, holding it between his index and middle finger. When he released it, it flew off, away at CannonMan. Actually, ‘blasted off’ would be a better description, as this bow was much more powerful as CentaurMan’s standard weapon.

CannonMan dodged the arrow by jumping upwards, but his opponent quickly loaded a new arrow and fired it at him. With a newly received Katana2, CannonMan slashed the arrow out of the way and he landed safely on the ground again. CannonMan then rushed forward at CentaurMan, who quickly also equipped a sword, an Aqua Blade, and blocked the Katana2 with it, before pushing his opponent off and slashing at him, striking a hit. He slashed a second time, but CannonMan ducked underneath the attack and thrust his weapon forward between his opponent’s front legs. CentaurMan cried out in pain, and slashed his weapon downwards. CannonMan pulled out his weapon in time to jump backwards and dodge it. CentaurMan equipped another sword, an Aqua Sword, and ran forward at CannonMan. CentaurMan kept slashing with his swords at his opponent, right sword, left sword, right sword, left sword. However, CannonMan kept jumping backwards and ducking and dodging his blows. As he kept jumping backwards, CannonMan’s Operator slotted in a Double Sword chip. Still dodging the blows, CannonMan’s Katana2 was replaced into a short, red-bladed sword, and his left hand also morphed into that same weapon. After dodging another slash from CentaurMan’s Aqua Blade by jumping backwards, he slid between the other’s front legs, cutting his belly as he passed, slid onwards trough his opponent’s back legs and stood up again as he changed his hands back to his standard Mega Cannon and landing another hit in CentaurMan’s back.

“Not very mobile, are you?” CannonMan said. CentaurMan de-equipped both swords turned around to face his opponent.

“Perhaps. But on the other hand, I’m much more stable. And fast.” CentaurMan suddenly disappeared from his spot, using an Area Grab. CannonMan turned around to see where CentaurMan had gone, but he couldn’t see him. He kept his Mega Cannon ready as he kept twisting around to see from where his opponent would attack. CentaurMan suddenly appeared right in front of him and severed his Mega Cannon with a Wide Sword. CannonMan exclaimed in pain. But CentaurMan didn’t stop there, and he kicked with his front legs against his opponent’s shoulders, knocking him over. CentaurMan put his front right hoof on CannonMan’s chest and held his Wide Sword against the other’s throat.

“Had enough?” He asked.

“Fighter Sword, Battle Chip in! Download!” CannonMan’s Operator said, slotting in the chip. CannonMan held his left hand under CentaurMan’s belly, and as the chip equipped, it pierced through his opponent’s body. CentaurMan literally roared in his agonizing pain.

“You… you!”

“Time to end this, CannonMan. Step Sword, Battle Chips in! Triple Download!”

Program Advance!” CannonMan teleported around the field and his opponent, slashing his sword every time he saw an opportunity. After having wounded CentaurMan with this attack for at least half a dozen times, CannonMan stopped in front of him.

“I… I’m sorry… Dr. Archer… Chiron, sir…” CentaurMan said to his Operator.

“Do not worry about it. Log out.” His Operator said.

“No... One… who fights with honour… dies with honour… Here… take the Key…” A faint yellow light emerged from CentaurMan’s hand and it disappeared with a white lightning bolt like a Navi who logs out would do, meaning it was send to CentaurMan’s PET.

“CentaurMan!”

“The might… of Apollo… be with you!” CentaurMan raised his bow, but before he could fire an arrow, CannonMan opened fire with both of his hands changed into Mega Cannons. CentaurMan yelled in his agony his last words to his Operator again before he disappeared.

CentaurMan deleted.

“CENTAURMAN!”

“CannonMan, keep going and delete the viruses as well.” The Navi’s Operator commanded.

“Roger.”

“Oh my god! The operating rooms! The girl!” Yamato remembered. He turned around and started running for the Operating Rooms.

Yamato got there quite quickly, even though he felt dizzy after the run. He saw the doors opening and the doctors rolling her inside.

“Phew.” Yamato sighed relieved.

Close call. He thought. When he wanted to return to his room, he saw a familiar face just going around the corner.

“Yamato!” He heard Alise calling behind him. He ignored her, and started walking further, after that person, walking harder and harder.

“Yamato!” He was almost running. He turned around the corner and saw the figure further down the hall.

“Dr. Archer!” He called out. The black-haired man with a long ponytail and small square glasses turned around, his long white coat flapping around him.

You. Yamato pointed at him. Dr. Archer turned around again and walked away, faster now. Yamato persued him. The doctor stepped inside the elevator, Yamato sprinted for it, but the electronic doors closed right in front of him. He smashed his fists against the metal. He then turned and looked for the stairs, which were right next to the elevators. Yamato rushed down the steps, taking several at a time a few times, making him almost slip because of his bandaged feet. One stair down, another one, and another one, several floors he needed yet to go, and he realised his odds of catching up with him were slim.

Yamato finally reached ground level, he stood still in front of the elevator, with his hands on his knees, panting. After a short moment, the elevator opened, and people start to walk out of it. However, Yamato didn’t see Dr. Archer’s face.

Yamato turned around to see where the doctor had gone. He could see him up ahead, walking towards the entrance.

“Dr. Archer!” He yelled. The doctor turned around once more and looked at him. The eyes told nothing, they weren’t cold, nor filled with hatred or despair or anything. Just a simple calmness. Yamato wanted to run after him, but the dizziness he had felt in his head became stronger, he could feel he was losing control over his legs and the rest of his body. Or couldn’t feel would be better said. Dr. Archer smiled faintly at him and put a hand into the air and waved once before turning around and exiting the building.

“Archer…” Yamato whispered, before slipping away into darkness. He now knew what the pills had been. Sleeping pills.

END OF CHAPTER TWO

Leo: Alright, let’s do this better then our predecessors.

Ike: Right. In the next chapter, the class goes on a field trip!

Leo: Well, not a real field trip, actually.

Ike: Still, Yamato can’t have it he can’t go.

Leo: But wait! The captain is really a pirate!

Ike: He is?! That’s so cool!

Leo: Next time on SUCCESSORS OF THEIR LEGACY:

Ike: I’ve heard we also make an appearance.

Leo: Duh, we’re in the same class as Yamato.

Hiya.

You might be suspecting to find an update here. Or HAVE BEEN suspecting, I oughta say.

Anyway, I'm kind of busy at the moment. Several school project, and we've got Test Week coming up. So I won't be able to write much on the story. :hehe:

I might be able to update with just very minor bits, like a page or two every time.
Do not despair! My thoughts are with you!

That's exactly the point. To get to experience the beauty of the hell that is the 11th grade I first have to go through the trials of it's predecessor: THE ALMIGHTY 10TH GRADE.

Anywho, perhaps a little update on Friday. Or Saturday. Whatever. You'll be happy. And give me cookies.

Yes, it doesn't look as much as the other parts, but this is 1/3 of the chapter instead of 1/2. Whatever. Enjoy!

Chapter Three – All aboard, ye landrots!

This games winner is: Link!

“Awww, how come I never win?” The youngest of the three boys whined.

“Because you always pick Pikachu, while you suck at playing as him.” The second said.

The two boys who were with Yamato were twins, two boys from his class, who had come to visit him in the hospital, and they had brought a game console with them, with some controllers and a few games they had been playing for the last hour or so. Yamato liked it very much, as he could take his mind of other things for a while. He always had to laugh when the youngest boy, named Ike, whined after he lost after playing another game of Soul Calibur, Super Smash Bros. or Clash. The boy always started off enthusiastic and over-confident, but as the game went on, he started whining, saying things like “How could you do that?!” and having his in-game character make kamikaze attacks, making them dash at Yamato’s character, or Leo’s, Ike’s older twin brother.

“Anyway, it was fun.” The twins said as they stood up, and they starting putting their stuff inside a large white bag.

“Going already?” Yamato asked disappointed.

“Hey, we’re coming back tomorrow!”

“No, we can’t. Field trip, remember?”

“Oh yeah!”

“Field trip?” Yamato asked.

“Yeah, Mrs. Chishiki is taking us to some sort of boat—”

“—with and exposition or something on it so we’ll learn something from it.”

“Since we can’t go to school for a little while.”

“I wish I could come.” Yamato sighed.

“Don’t worry.” One of the twins said. “You’ll get out of here within a few days, and then we’ll be able to have fun!”

“Yeah! Don’t worry, be happy!” The other added.

“I will if you stop saying that phrase.” Yamato said with a smile.

“Alright then.” The other two agreed. “Goodbye then, Yamato, see you tomorrow!” One of them said.

“The day after that one, you dork!” The other corrected his sibling.

“Yeah, bye Ike, bye Leo.” Yamato kept staring at the door through which the two boys had left for a time. He sighed. “Why do they need to go on a trip right before I get to get out of here? It seems so… unfair.”

--- --- --- --- ---

“Do you think he’s disappointed he can’t come?” Ike asked his twin brother.

“Do I think it, or do I know it?” Leo replied the question with a question. Ike sighed.

“Do you think he’ll hold a grudge because of it?” Ike asked.

“Yamato isn’t like that!” Leo replied, surprised with Ike’s question.

“Oh. Okay.”

“Dork.”

“I heard that!”

“You’re still a dork.”

--- --- --- --- ---

The following morning Mrs. Chishiki’s class, the class Yamato was in, though he wasn’t there that day, since he was still hospitalized, was standing near the place where the burned-out school was. A bus came driving around the corner and stopped right next to the where the class was waiting.

“All aboard!” The bus driver said. All the kids stepped in, with their teacher looking if everybody was there, before she herself stepped in and the bus drove away. Soon, the class started to sing songs to drive away boredom until they would arrive at wherever they were going to.

After a drive of about half an hour, the bus drove into a town. Welcome to the village of Portmount, it said on a sign.

“I can see the port, where is the mount?” Ike said as they left the bus after arriving at the docks of Portmount.

“Don’t take things so literally, my boy.” A man old blue jeans and a dirty, red-and-white horizontally-striped shirt came walking up to the group. He was a little underneath the height of 6 feet, and a part of his belly was visible, due to him being quite fat, probably because of much alcohol consumption, and his shirt not being large enough to match that. He had a large black beard and moustache, and his hair was also of a dark colour, going down to shoulder-length. A large navy blue pirate captain’s hat stood atop his head, and his left eye was covered by an eyepatch. The other was coloured a reddish violet that didn’t seem to fit with the rest of his character well.

“Welcome, ye landrots! Ah be yer capt’n for teday, capt’n Blackbeard ye may call me, ‘n’ yer better of listenin’ to me, y’understand? Alright then, me ship lie just a little up ahead, Ah’ll be gettin’ ye to yer place o’ destination, m’kay? Ev’rybody ‘ere? Let’s go then, YAR!” The large man then turned around, gestured the class to follow him, and walked towards his ship.

“Oh. My. God.” Leo said. “We’ve got a Captain Hook wannabe with us. But without the hook. That is so—”

“COOL!” Ike exclaimed.

“You’re hopeless.” Leo sighed.

--- --- --- --- ---

Half an hour later, the small ship laid still aside a much larger one, a battleship that hadn’t been used for decades. Now that ship was used as a museum, showing paintings and movies about wars and battles of the past, and even had a historic-battle-simulator aboard. The class walked up the stairs that was let down from the larger ship, shortly being followed by Captain ‘Blackbeard’. They were met with a several old members of the battleship’s crew, retired veterans with medals twinkling and sparkling on their chest. A few of them were in wheeling chairs, yet most of them, though old, stood proud and tall. The man up front, one of the tallest, or at least one of those least bending-over, was the captain, as was seen by the stripes on his uniform. He had only had one single, though large, platinum medal on his left chest.

“I keep the others in a large box at home.” He grinned at the children as he saw them looking at the shining token of honour.

“Greetings, young fellows!” He continued cheerily. “I am the captain of this ship, and I’ll lead you around today. My shipmates here will be on their posts to tell things about certain wars and battles of the past. We will end this trip at our HBS, our historic battle simulator. Now, if you’ll follow me, we can start with the tour.”

“’xcuse me, sir?” Ike stepped forward from the class. “What’s your name?”

The captain turned back with a laugh and said: “Call me Ishmael.”

Ike stared at the man with a dropped jaw, apparently recognising the name. The captain then gestured the others to follow him and turned around. The tour had started now.

“Hey Ike! Don’t just stand there! The tour’s started!” Leo yelled at his sibling, who hadn’t moved an inch since the captain last had spoken.

“Uh, okay!” Ike then ran to catch up with the rest of the class.

Short and sour is how I describe it.

I enjoyed the fact that you seemed to have the description stuff down, but it was too slow to me. Of course I expect all action as I've seen from most of your past work.

Although I know that it's leadin to somethin. I just wish for more of the story in that.

All in all, still good. 7/10.
