That's right, boys and girls, Disney has decided to market this franchise to the point of online play now. Around next summer everyone will have the honor of being named virtual pirate, complete with poker, blood, and an evil curse. From the makers of ToonTown Online, this game sounds interesting thus far. The graphics are decent enough, and the gameplay sounds solid. So starting summer 07 (more or less) you can help Disney make a few million dollars on marketing their second MMORPG.

Hmmm... I'm not sure about this one. I mean, it could be fun and all, but it kinda sounds like it might be just another generic MMO. I hope they find something to make it stand out from others. MMO's tend to be too similar- and get a little too tedious. (Yes, I am patient about leveling up and stuff. It's just... after awhile, any story there is repeats itself, and the missions all kinda look the same.)

My honest thought, Sign me up. If the graphics are that good I might forget RYL for awhile.
Toontown got on my nerves, it stills does seeing as everyone in my whole damn town plays it.

Why is it "Jack Sparrow" and "Pirates" are seperated? What do you consider Jack Sparrow to be exactly?

A DRUNK pirate. So he's not toally a pirate, he's a special case.

If you can actually get drunk in the game that would be cool,making a fool out of yoursef on a fake reputation.nothin better...

Okay, so since he is a drunken pirate, he is in the "Sparrow" class? This is saying that no other pirate has the ability to drink?

I believe this needs revived as the game should be out soon, or so Disney says... It's starting to sound like runescape though: Free, but not as much content version, Check; Paid for monthly, with all the content version, check. Allegedly deep leveling system, check. Graphics looking ugly, check. Meh, i'll buy it anyways, I'll be running around yelling, NINJAS OWN PIRATES, if you need me.

It'll be out before the end of June, unfortunately.


The beta servers are constantly laggy (There is no split maps here...everything is just one huge world, save the jungles...smart.) and some of the game engine hasn't been perfected yet (VooDoo) so, IMO, they need a bit more time.

what's the cost?

You can get an ad-supported, 1/3 game access versiion for free, or a fully accessible ad free version for 9.95 a month.

Sounds like fun, but I'll have to check it out first.

Beta Phase 2 opens this month (Soon, by the looks of the new log-in screen)


The game I experienced as a beta tester was fun for the second half of the period, and I definatly suggest signing up to recieve a beta key.
