Well at first thought you may think, well an Alchamest is Better than a ninja, I mean he change anything to anything! However, consider this, a ninja moves at much greater speeds and fights quickly, where as an alchemist (a normal one) must draw a transmutation circle in order to make any effect.

This topic is also not just about who his better, but also who is uses more "majic" Seeing as an Alchamest can change anything, HOWEVER! keep in mind that a skilled ninja can change his body into other things and in a few cases can even make solid and real replications, well that being said, choose, ME? I can't really decide, though as you can see I am leaning a bit towards Naruto.

I'd say an alchemist could do a lot more of that than a ninja, but than again there are many ninja techniques.

Meh, this will probably turn into a popularity contest between the two series so I am not going to vote. I like em both. They both use a lot of 'powers not used by humans' (although alchemy is real...)

To be blunt, I don't like this match up. It's far too different, plus, to be honest. The ninja would proboly win. They can draw thier weapons much faster and have much more speed. They are trained in most arts of simple combat, like hand-to-hand, sword play, ect. While the alchemist will need to draw circles on the correct surface and change the item which takes several moments.

The ninja would easily slit the alchemist's throat before he was able to make the circle or at least complete it. The ninja would not need to use any jutsu what so ever.

Now if the alchemist were to be Edward, he would have a much, much better chance, enough to possibly win. That would be a battle of skill rather than speed. He would of course need a short moment to make his sword, spear, or whatever, but he sould have enough time to make the weapon.

Now for the shows, I enjoy FMA much more. The story is very well done and it's quite interesting in the science catagory. While Naruto is just a plain anime based on ninjas and cool jutsu.

In conclution, in a battle the ninja would most likely win, unless the alchemist had very good luck. By shows, I enjoy FMA much more.

I love ninjas, but hate Naruto.

People with metal arms are cool, but I hate FMA.

But my hatred for Naruto is far greater than my hatred for FMA. So the alchemist kid wins if it's just the anime matchup. But if we're going for no-name ninjas, well ninjas always win..somehow.

Well, you know, if it's actually Edward vs. Naruto, you have to consider that Ed doesn't need a circle if he can still clap his hands together. So the alchamic circle really doesn't even apply there. But if you're talking about any old regular alchemist and a ninja, than yeah, the ninja's speed would probably end out.

But anyways, I'm not a big fan of either show. Both are a bit too mainstreamy. Both have their moments though; I love a good action scene in FMA or horrified expression, and a couple of jutsu turn out to be kind of interesting in Naruto. But... I can't seem to really like anything with that many fangirls.

Too... much... Naruto yaoi...

You know, something being mainstream doesn't mean you should avoid it. Normally things become mainstream because they're good. Of course, there are the things that appeal to baser minds that should stay in the out of sight. Besides, it's always good to keep an open mind.

Yeah... I try to avoid that sort of thing as much as possible. But sometimes it just jumps out at you. *shudders*

Anyways, a ninja would probably win. Agility and stealth are major advantages, and Naruto-style hand seals can be done quickly with practice (much quicker than most alchemists could draw a transmutation circle). And with shuriken, long-range attacks can end a fight quickly.

My thoughts on this:

Naruto was best in the first 19 episodes in spite of the annoying habit to do way too much recapping.

Naruto would own poor Ed and Al both before they knew what hit them (not to mention that Naruto seems to be rediculously hard to kill). People probably weren't exaggerating that much when they called Naruto the next DBZ. I'm just waiting for him to gain the power to blow up planets. That's always fun.

I'm not sure where the english version of the show is at and I figured giving specifics on it would have been a bit of a spoiler. If you speak specifically of Naruto then I'd have to say with access to 'unlimited chakra' ... I'm sure you can guess where that goes. As for any other ninja, it'd depend on the specific ninja but they are usually focused more on physical ability than 'magic' for the most part. The thing is, the two shows are too different to give any real fair comparison unless you speak of specific characters. Even then, it's not really fair to take someone from one show and compare them to another since they basically exist in different worlds.

Oh, and thanks. ;)

I am a fairly big fan of Naruto, but to be honest, FMA would win, I realize everyone can look at the avatar and say "Oh he must be a narutard", the truth is, I have my limits to Naruto, Anything before Itachi showed up is off-limits IMO, as for the movies, i'll stamp them average. Also, the Naruto part 2 manga that appeaared in Japan not that long ago is far better than the original manga IMO.

FMA, I am a bit of a fanboy towards, honestly how can you not like a show where a guy's brother is trapped in a fricken suit if armor.

To make things semi-equal here. I'm gonna mention that even with the most powerful alchemic artifact that you are basically still drawing on a specific number of souls to do the transmutations. Naruto has inside of himself a being of unlimited power (one that happens to not want to know what happens if his living prison were to die). Even if we put Kyuubi aside (the nine-tails fox sealed inside of Naruto) then there's the simple fact that Naruto is still a trained ninja. That means he still uses illusion, stealth, and physical prowess to defeat his enemy. Ed is just a boy with no real training at all and no way to cancel out illusions and he's no where near fast enough to compete with Naruto. Ed's metal arm wouldn't slow Naruto down for a second since Naruto would be likely aiming at a vital spot. I'd say the fight would end with the first set of kunai that Naruto throws. I doubt Ed could completely shield himself before Naruto could attack. If you've watched enough FMA then you know Ed never really fairs all that well in a straight up physical fight. If he has trouble with ordinary soldiers and criminals then how would he fair against a trained ninja with or without a demon (a better word might be spirit) of unlimited power helping him? Ed almost got sliced up by a normal butcher, could he really take on a trained ninja by himself? I doubt it.

Yeah, but Naruto sucks. My own theory is that universes where people are generally godmodders, it's due to the physics of that universe. (i.e. Goku can't kill God in any other universe but his own.)

Anyway FMA wins because it doesn't suck like Naruto. And Ninjas are incredibly overrated. Not to mention that the only thing that Naruto got right about ninjas, was that they didn't wear black outfits like people think.

It still sucks though.

I think that full metal alchemist would win ed can do many things with alchemy make walls, pillars, hole, weapons,or simply make spikes come up from where you are standing FMA is a bit more realistic than naruto and alchemy is better than ninjitsu.

No. A food jutsu might work, but that? Just maybe. But then again, Naruto would also be tempted by it.

No, I think an Alchemist Ninja shall win!

Sorry, not quite accurate Morph. Naruto would only be tempted by ramen, but the choice is still clear... FMA
