That's right folks! I made a fanfic! Featuring Dragon Man and... the black Yoshi fanfic char named Draco! Yay! Woohoo! Alrighty than... let's get started shall we!

Chapter 1: When Dragon Man met Draco

At long last, Dragon Man’s turn to take a long rest had arrived. He reported in at the Arcadia Royal offices where he passed on his duties to his brother, Bass. Bass gratefully accepted the role as Universal Peacemaker, and Dragon Man could finally relax a little.

Dragon Man decided to go to a planet he had once visited during his travels, and specifically wanted to stay on a certain island located in the middle of a vast ocean… the small island known as Yoshi’s Island; home of the Yoshis and nice place to kick back and take a rest.
Not long after Dragon Man had arrived, he had become something of a legend; having saved the island from Bowser and his minions while Mario was elsewhere possibly saving other kingdoms. Dragon Man grew fond of the Yoshis, and the Yoshis grew likewise. It was a mutual relationship between the dinosaurs and the Dragon King; Dragon Man provided protection to the Yoshi tribes, while the Yoshis provided Dragon Man with seemingly endless entertainment through study and observations.
The good times were plentiful, and the bad times few and far between… but it was not to last.

One day, a mammoth being from another world, came to Yoshi’s Island… its name… Yoob, a giant Shroob Yoshi with an appetite to rival that of the most powerfully hungry of Yoshis!
This beast was the cause of much havoc on Yoshi’s Island, and there was no known way to stop it! Dragon Man had left to explore the dark depths of the ocean surrounding the island just before Yoob’s arrival. The Yoshis were out of luck!
The giant alien Yoshi ran around the island devouring any Yoshi it saw! Even women and children weren’t spared by this awesome force.

Dragon Man had finally returned to Yoshi’s Island, having recorded enough data to keep him satisfied for awhile, only to see the villages in ruins! Homes were destroyed, Yoshis were missing, and others were crushed to death by the debris, unable to escape.
Dragon Man wondered through the ruined village, looking for any signs of life, when he heard a squeak of something living. He quickly ran to where the sound came from and saw a severely cracked egg next to the corpses of a white female, the mother, a black male, the father, and two children, a boy and a girl, both white, limp, and lifeless.
Dragon Man lowered his head at the sight and literally shook with rage. The air around him rose in temperature to staggering heights, he was about to lose control of himself when he heard another squeak. He froze and looked at the damaged egg laying in pieces on the ground. Could the fetus have survived? Dragon Man lifted a small piece of the eggshell to reveal a premature Yoshi fetus, lying helplessly. Dragon Man watched its white chest expand and contract with every breath it took, and every beat of its heart.
Dragon Man sniffed the fetus to make sure it wasn’t just spasmodic reactions caused by the nerves… it was definitely living, how it was alive was beyond anyone’s guess. Dragon Man looked at the poor black creature lying there… orphaned… helpless… it needed Dragon Man’s help or else its fate would join that of its parents and siblings. Dragon Man realized this and picked up the poor thing careful not to damage it. He could tell it wasn’t ready to hatch when the egg broke, so he quickly thought of a way to preserve it until it was ready to be exposed to the outside world.

Dragon Man encased the fetus in a clear shell of soft material that Dragon Man conjured with magic. It was strong enough to protect it, yet delicate enough for it to hatch properly when the time arrived.
Dragon Man took the baby back to his lair atop a large cliff overlooking most of Yoshi’s Island, where he cared and nurtured the embryo for a little over a week before the fetus started kicking the inside of the ‘egg’, cracking it and breaking pieces loose. After it had achieved freedom from its ovular casing, the little black Yoshi looked up at Dragon Man, yawned widely, and stared… smiling.
As the Yoshi looked at the black armored Reploid that stood before him, Dragon Man though to himself, “My, my… the poor little thing doesn’t even know what almost happened to him. I guess ignorance, in this case, would be the best thing I can offer it for now. I’d rather not depress it at such an early innocent age…”
Dragon Man was well aware of the large amount of intelligence lurking behind those innocent little Yoshi eyes, and thought it best to give the Yoshi a name. Dragon Man picked up the Yoshi and said in a deep, calming voice, “Welcome, young one, to the universe. You haven’t been out of your shell for long, but I can already see the potential within you. I see my own traits within you… apparently I’m not as learned about Yoshi breeding as I thought. From now on, you shall be known near and far, as Draco! I am known as Dragon Man, I shall be your father from now on, is that fine with you?” The child smiled and said “Yoshi!” Dragon Man chuckled and said “Very well, and so shall it be… I wonder what my brother will think when I tell him I’m a dad now…”

Chapter 2: Dragon Man: Swordsman, Blacksmith… English Teacher?

Later that day, Dragon Man took Draco with him to investigate the cause of the chaos that had plagued Yoshi’s Island only to find Yoob hanging from a cliff, stiff as a board… Mario, Luigi, Baby Mario, and Baby Luigi had already defeated the Yoob from the inside out. Dragon Man decided to leave it be as a reminder of his folly.

He later spoke with the leader of a local tribe. “I know this is a sad occasion, but you have to look on the bright side; Yoshi’s Island was beginning to look overpopulated due to our lack of a sufficient predator.” Argued the leader, Dragon Man nodded and said “Well… I guess you’re right… however, I shall not let a slaughter like this occur twice!” Draco shifted in Dragon Man’s arms, sleeping peacefully. Dragon Man nervously asked “Oh yeah… about this Yoshi… do you mind if I look after him? His parents… and siblings were all killed when their hut collapsed.” Draco let out a sigh in his sleep, obviously comfortable despite Dragon Man’s tough armor. The Yoshi chieftain scratched his chin and thought for a minute before answering “Oh very well then… It obviously feels comfortable with you; most babies usually throw a fit when held by those not of their species. You may raise the poor thing; however, I ask that you take good care of it! I’m not sure how you Reploids take care of your young, but remember: this is a Yoshi, its needs are greater and more numerous than that of a Reploid due to it being a bio-form.” Dragon Man smiled and said, “Don’t worry about that, I’ve been studying your parental care for some time now. I think I can manage, though I will be teaching it swordsmanship as well as how to speak English.” With that, Dragon Man turned on his heel and walked off with Draco quietly sleeping in his arms.

Using his tail, Dragon Man picked fruit from trees so that Draco could be fed as soon as he woke from his slumber. Dragon Man hummed while he worked, contemplating exactly how he was supposed to teach English to a creature that only spoke its own name. As Dragon Man worked, Draco slowly opened his eyes and let out a big yawn. “Yoshi” He said as a ‘Good morning’, Dragon Man looked down and said “Good morning yourself kid. You’ll be learning how to speak English soon, that way I can fully understand you.” Draco looked up at him and cocked his head to the side. Dragon Man smiled and said “You’ll understand soon enough. Indeed you shall” Draco smiled back and babbled “Yonsheed?” Dragon Man looked surprised and said “Heh, you’re already trying… I like the effort. I take it you tried to say ‘indeed’? Alright, say it with me… Indeed.” Draco watched Dragon Man’s mouth carefully and said “Yindee-d” Dragon Man laughed and said “You’ll get the hang of it, or I’m not the Dragon King!” Draco’s eyes lit up at Dragon Man’s words. He sat up and said “D… drag… dragon! Dragon! Dragon! DRAGON!” Dragon Man stared in amazement, “Sheesh! I only said Dragon once! You must have gained my fascination for them huh? I guess there’s more to you than meets the eye.”

Draco continued to learn new words from Dragon Man’s vast vocabulary and was soon learning their meanings. Draco now had the ability to tell Dragon Man when he was hungry, what he wanted to do, and even what he was thinking about. Dragon Man continued to study the little black Yoshi that he was starting to become emotionally attached to, noticing that Draco was doing likewise.
