The Rockman Zero Official Complete Works book has been translated. It reveals many things about the series...especially the fate of the Guardians. We all know they must've died if they showed up as Models in Megaman ZX, but how did they die?

How is that possible? It's stated in the Rockman Zero 4 Remastered Tracks that the three surviving Guardians, along with the returned hologram/cyber elves of Phantom and X, watched as Ragnarok fell and disintegrated in the atmosphere when Zero destroyed Weil.

Ah, that is indeed true. It seems we've got conflicting sources of canon. But since RMZOC came out second, it might be a retcon of the tracks. I dunno.

Blah. It's a good thing I don't really care much about Harpuia and the other Guardians anymore. 9_9 Well, I can safely say I'm not going to bother with my fanfic anymore, since making it fit with canon NOW, is a bit impossible, since they're DEAD.

You could always make it slightly AU. A lot of readers don't have a problem with that, I certainly wouldn't.

AU should only be done in an enviroment where it can be all-out AU or no AU, any fic that doesn't meet these standards doesn't really fit in well, Unless you write an alternate ending first. I 've done that with NGE fics before, and it fit fine so ther is an exception.

A good writer can make any sort of AU work. It's always nice to explore "what-if" possibilities, but I don't like a complete change of scene when it comes to those fics.

Yeah, sure... except the Guardians came from X, not Zero... and we know how many times X has sacrificed himself. O.o

Point is, it's a stupid death that's not befitting of them. Especially when Zero survived, but they didn't. What the hell.

Since they've never stated which one is 'more' canon, I'll go with the one that said they were at Ragnarok

I'm with Mega X on this one, I personally think the three/four of them (depends on your idea of Phantom) watched the whole cannon come crashing down.

Besides... those three were MADE from X, and iono about you, but I found X (and Copy X) to be hard to kill, in X5, Z1, and Z3, so its only fitting that that endurance is passed down to his "children." The only reason Phantom died was because he self-destructed in an attempt to take Zero down with him... otherwise he'd have been a harassment to Zero in Z2 like the other three.

You know, it's quite easy to combine both cannon sources into one. The three Guardians did indeed die when Omega went boomies, and as 'cyber elves', like Phantom and X, they watched as Ragnarok came down.

Perfectly plausible, no?

I believe it was specifically stated that only X and Phantom were Cyber-elves.

Times are obviously a changin', X. Up is down, black is white, the millenium approaches. It can't be decided what's right anymore what with these conflicting sources.

Dr. Light is in Florida, not dead. Dr. Wily is dead. Isoc was Wily, but he blew up. Dr. Cain is dead. Sigma is a clown... and is also dead. Zero is dead. The guardians are mostly not-never-almost dead and X is not dead.

Isoc being Wily? I say Weil was Wily. Isoc was Sigma in X6, if you noticed, that when Sigma entered his new body, the life in Isoc's body disappeared...

Sigma was a clown, yes, and he died of a severe case of chin constipation.

Zero is in Limbo - he's dead for now, but somewhere he's alive... it just has to be that way, right, Inafune?

The Guardians were killed by a blitzkrieg attack performed by Goofy, Donald, The Little Mermaid, and all Seven Dwarfs.

X took the form of Pete and is now schemeing ways to become a detriment to Mickey (in a G-Rated way) and somehow avenge Dr.Light.

No evidence. Even the name similarity doesn't help because his name is Dr. Vile. But of course they couldn't translate it right for obvious reasons.



Sigma was truly dead until Gate revived him. Remember in X5 it's stated that Sigma spread his virus so thin, that he would be unable to revive himself.



No. Zero. Dead. Bad. Inafune. Zero. Dead!

I don't ever remember seeing it stated that Sigma spread himself too thin in X5. Where the heck did you hear that, anyways?

A computer virus can't be spread too thin, can it? Still, Sigma would have SOME control over whomever he was infecting, so in the end, he could have revived himself. And plus, he was infecting and controlling Gate. Also, Gate got the Zero Virus corrupting him beyond that when he tried his little fusion whoop-dee-doo.

Isoc actually could have been Sigma, I will stand on that theory until a solid, backed-up argument comes forth. See, the 8 investigators were really sent to finish off Zero, correct? They were all Maverick, correct? Isoc was Maverick, correct? He ordered the investigation, correct?

It seems as if Gate and Isoc were Sigma's main hosts until he had a body. But he wouldn't have died. Computer viruses can't be spread too thin. He was hived up in Eurasia, too, and he had te Virus in Zero to collaborate with and fall back on.

And just a thing I noticed - see how the Sigma Virus affected Zero the most, and drove all others insane? Same wih the Nightmare. Soooo... the Nightmare could have been a new form of Sigma Virus.

It was in one of Alia's debriefings. The Axl Rose one, I think.

And I don't think it was the Sigma Virus controlling Gate. Since he got infected by a piece of Zero, it was likely the pure and original strain.

Secondly, if the investigators were created to hunt Zero, wouldn't that make more sense for Isoc to be Wily? Plus, Isoc had knowledge of Zero's workings that even Zero wouldn't know, leaving only one candidate.
