Alright, I asked UE about this on a chatroom, but what he told me so far hasn't worked so...here goes.

For a few days now, my computer has had problems with the internet. I connect and after awhile, windows tells me that Generic Host Win32 has encountered problems and has to shut down.

I tried doing a spyware check, deleted everything I found. Did a virus check, found nothing. Asked UE to check a hijackthis log and deleted what he told me. But it kept crashing. Decided to download Microsoft's solution, but that did little to help.

Anyone can help? :X?

Only thing I can think of, if you're sure that you have no spyware/virii/dialers/etc, is to reinstall that Generic Host. What exactly IS Generic Host?

I had a problem like this once on a Win98 computer. Boy was that fun, virus infected a few neccessary files..was one of those "pay us 300 dollars and we'll get rid of this virus" ones. (yeah my parents shouldn't have a computer) I had to delete a few of them, then reinstall them from specific data.cab's on the Win98 install disk.

Did a repair install and everything seems to work fine now.
