I'm starting to get the idea this message board has something against me. It refuses to change my avatar now... I'll set a new avatar, and the site won't update and change it. Any suggestions?

Did you try Shift-F5? 
(IE takes one, Mozilla/Firefox takes the other...). In any case, if you're following the given instructions and you don't see a change, try closing and relaunching your browser. Several people get this problem.

I used to have to refresh before it would work, it would upload, but I wouldn't see it until I refreshed the screen...

I had the same problem at one point, but it kinda just went away on its own...
98% of teens have made a "98% of teens" Signature. Copy and paste this into your signature if you're the 2% that finds it stupid.
