So, over the week I was at a friends house, right? Spent the night, played games, ate pizza drank soda. Yeah, fun times. I snatched his laptop and installed the PC game "Warhammer 40k: Dawn Of War". I must say, I havn't had so much fun since my Starcraft days, it's truly amazing at how far this game wins.

Here's a screenshot of an aftermath of one of my battles.

Image

As you can plainly see, the detail is amazing, even for DEAD UNITS.

In the game there are four races.

Space Marines, Chaos, Orks, and the Eldar. In the Winter Assault expansion you have an extra race called the Imperial Guard.

I'll see if I can't put a screenshot of a battle with non-dead units, just to let you see. Each of the races has elite units.

Screenshot with current battle.

Image

Space Marines and their Terminater Squads.
Chaos and their bloodthirst daemons, and Obliteraters.
Eldar and their daemon god Avatar.
Orks and their giant rhino that shoots lazers from its head. Yead, odd. Thing stampedes too.

So, anyone else play this game? It's truly worth getting, especially if you like high detailed RTS games. Cause, when they say "Insane" mode, that mean INSANE. I've never been beat so badly in my life, I think I was slaughtered in under 20 minutes.

I used to play and be pretty good at it. Used the Chaos Space Marines (since they have more units in their squads than normal SMs) and could level maps with 6 upgraded tanks and a Defiler.

The last time I played, they were adding the Taus.

Hell yeah, I love this game. Got Dark Crusade recently. One thing to say:

Necrons = teh pwn.

Seriously. A Warrior, the 'weakest' unit of them all, is considered a flipping heavy infantry. 3 groups of them and a Necron Lord can easily annihilate an entire enemy base.

I am dead serious.

And then their HQ is the Monolith, which is the armory, barracks, and HQ all rolled into one convienient form. Oh! And did I mention the thing has giant guns on the side that cause nuclear explosions when they hit? Yeah, it does that too!

The scary thing is they're not too far off from their real game opposite.

But, enough advertising for the Necrons. The Tau are good too...I think...

And the campaign is awesome, you battle all the other groups for control of Kronus.

AND! You can play it without having to buy the original or Winter Assault, and you get all the races- Ork, Space Marine, Chaos, Eldar, Guard, Necron and Tau.

So basically:

Warhammer 40K Dawn of War Dark Crusade:

And about the clan thing?

BRILLIANT!

We shall be the Interordian clan!...or whatever you come up with. My names suck.

Example: *points to name*

But yeah, I'd love to join.

I'd love to play but my computer's not up for this type of game I don't think.

But when it is..I'll already be part of another "clan" that's not really a clan..and you won't see us coming.

And I'll suck really really bad.

I have a new one, just the videocard is crap. Waiting for the year warranty to die off, then going to buy a new videocard.

They didn't have the card I wanted at the time, so I went with the basic.

Well, I think it'd run off default, safe mode settings.

It did on his laptop, and his is a old laptop.

Last July, I had a small party at my home at which me and a couple of friends played this game with and together one another via LAN network. It was awesome. Can you imagine one giant base of one kind of race filled with troops suddenly attacked by hundreds of other units, including the Bloodthirster, Avatar, Squiggoth (the giant stampeding thingy the Orcs have), and several SM Terminator Squads? You just got to see that at least once, because that is just one of the many definitions of awesome.

Add a Necron Monolith and then you get another definition of awesome. Or a Necron Lord using Essence of the Nightbringer. Now THAT is awesome.

Splodeys.
