With the Zero and Battle Network series' end, I was wondering if there are any plans for another X game? I don't have a DS so I won't be getting ZX or Star Force. This leaves me thinking, "are there gonna' be any more Megaman games for me?" I'm sure others want another X game as well so if anyone learns anything that may hint towards another sequel, post it here? X sereis was my first and favorite one so I hope it doesn't end just yet.
I don't believe that the X series is over, but I wouldn't be surprised if no games came out for a while still. There was a big gap between the releases of X4 and X5 too, so it's nothing to worry about. After a few years of releasing 5+ Mega Man games a year, it seems that Capcom has decided to slow down.

Theres some good news then at least. I suppose they have been pumping out alot of games the last few years. At least I have something to look forward to most likely.
as far as i know the only game that still needs to be released is Megaman Star Force (except for europe, where ZX still need to be released), no new megamans were announced so far. perhaps we get to know more next year.
I don't think they will make another MMX game but perhaps they make one with an end that corresponds with the beginning of Megaman Zero.
I doubt it. Mega Man never gets any real closure, except in MMZ.
And that's only because that series wasn't managed directly by Capcom, mind you.

InactiveMaybe Cpacom saw the obvious potential the 2-4 year effort Zelda: Twilight Princess had, and so is currently working on the most souped-up X game ever, with incredible length and depth, mind-boggling graphics...

I say they have already started developing one, and that it will come out either in two months, or in 2011.

While remakes are okay, I'd rather see a new game. Those tend to be far more interesting.

There is a possability of the X series blending into the Elf Wars story. I would like to see a MMX9, heck if capcom pulls out their cards right, they could kill two birds with one stone. X9 could have a story line that involves X and Zero needing to dig for ruins, in search of what happened to their creators. During the process they could dig up info about what happened to Mega Man and the original crew. It would help fill in some spaces that the Original series left unanswered, plus end the X series with a possability of another Command Missions game, that is how the Elf Wars could be introduced.
Honestly, it would actually be smart, Capcom could make the Sales Market, plus some.

You cannot kill what you did not create
To be honest, the X series kinda died with X6. TECHNICALLY, the story ended with X5, then X6 was just an aftermath side story. Since then, the gameplay hasn't felt the same and the stories haven't really meant anything. X7-X8 weren't interesting enough for me to even finish, mainly because I expected them to explain more. Instead, we got Axl. As much as I'd LOVE to see X9, I fear that it would either continue the storyline from X7-8 or start yet another plotline. If Inafune were directly involved, however, that PS3 multi-year development idea would be VERY attractive. I would buy a PS3 if such a game would see release.
There is a rumor of a next gen megaman game flotting around on the web.Some things you can tell wont be a real game for one reson on anothor message bord I found on random said it may look like dead riseing or lost planit.

Inafune said in an interview that if he could do Legends 3, it'd work sorta like Lost Planet (especially considering people who worked on that game worked on Legends).
That would be cool legends is my fourth fav. sceris next to X,zero and ZX
