For Serpent 1, use ZX and cling to the walls, jumping over him and charge-shot-bustering him in the back as soon as you fall down, then moving to the other wall.

For Serpent 2, use ZX, and charge-slash his head for Form 1. Then, time you slash release or just use an upward spin on Form 2. You can either use HX or ZX to get good slashes on the central gem for Form 3.

I don't want to break down attacks - it's too late for me to think. :]

Make sure you've got all four Sub Tanks filled and an E-Can, too.

I myself just slashed the crap outta him with Model LX.

Attack his weak point for massive damage.

my strategy is Hit, Run and Walljump. most of the times you can find me on the walls, jumping in the high corners of the screen and when the enemy comes right at me i just drop down. i'm very carefull not to get hit.

i don't really think of a strategy the first 5-10 times i fight a boss. after that i know the bosses patterns a bit.

taking enough full subtanks and recovery items is also part of my "strategy"

don't forget that hitting the weak point will decrease the power of the Biometal you recieve afterwards which means you need to pay energy crystals to restore the lost power. ofcourse only on the Biometal bosses, which means you don't need to care for Serpent's BioMetal, since you can't get his BioMetal (too bad, Model W)
