I USED to be hardcore into anime and manga, but now it's cooled down to one favorite movie (Vampire Hunter D 2 ) and one favorite manga series (Ceres) In general, I guess I got... tired? of anime. Not 'cause I'm too old for it, but after five or so years of watching it, the stories started to seem a bit rinse and repeat. I still watch it and enjoy it sometimes, though.

Well, you need to settle on a genre that you like and stick with it. Instead of watching 10 series every season, I like watch only the mecha stuff. And since good mecha stuff is rare these days, well, I only watch like one or two series every season.

I'm not horribly picky, I watch almost anything, with a few exceptions (Yeah, i'm talking to YOU tenchi...). My favorites are easily Neon Genesis Evangelion and it's movie, as well as Martian Successor Nadesico, G Gundam, and FMA...Occasional Bleach... Yeah, I need some help myself...

I've never been into the whole anime/manga type stuff. Recently, however, I've found myself watching some of the anime that my friends suggest and enjoying them. The most recent ones have been Desert Punk and Cromartie Highschool.

I would suggest you balance yourself out with some American comics a bit, Windy. Try some Frank Miller or something ("Ronin" for the win!). Dark Horse has been putting out some good stuff lately and so has Slave Labor Graphics. Look into some of that stuff. Once you get out of the compulsive manga buying you'll be able to slowly move back to real books!

I'm older school than you are.

I don't watch TV often and I don't normally have a lot of money (and what money I do have is going into the Get R.D. A Wii Fund). As a result, I don't watch many anime, despite being a fan.

I usually watch mecha shows... Gundam Wing, G-Gundam, Gundam SEED, Gundam SEED Destiny, and Neon Genesis Evangelion. There are other anime I watch, such as DB/DBZ/DBGT, FLCL, and recently s-CRY-ed sank its claws into me.

Some other shows I'd like to see include Desert Punk, Full Metal Panic!, Kiddy Grade, and because a friend of mine is bugging me about, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya just to shut her up.

It's homoerotic, run! ...well I always assume that when a chick begs you to watch some anime you never heard about. If you see a dude with pink hair, start worrying.

Anyways I only like Berserk, end discussion

lol @ match.

My situation sounds like RisingDragon's, only it applies to video games too... so I've got my SNES which I've had since I was 8 and then I've got an N64, that's it except for handhelds.

As for anime that generally means I am relegated to watching only what they show on T.V., and we don't have the Anime Network here. I am glad they show InuYasha on T.v.; other then that it was friend's laptops at the college and a few videos from the library. So then I made a point to check out manga (btw Wind, I checked out books the same way but you can still return them if the town's not small enough to recognize that they'd be coming from you... and that has to be REALLY small 'cause they recognized at two libraries where I could have still done it and did).
