I have found the Openings for the MMX games on YouTube for anyone who is interested. Many of you have seen these before, I am sure. But these are also the Japanese intros that those with US games would not have heard.

Rockman 8 (Megaman 8)

Rockman X3 (Megaman X3)

Rockman X4 (Megaman X4)

Rockman X5 (Megaman X5)

Rockman X6 (Megaman X6)

Rockman X7 (Megaman X7)

Rockman X8 (Megaman X8)

Command Mission

I'm sure that some people will be interested, but personally, I'll pass.

Basically, the videos seen on YouTube are often low-quality stuff not worth archiving, and when you download them, they are in some sort of odd video file format that most players can't read. YouTube has it's uses, yes, but i wouldn't consider it for sharing files such as these.

Well, I'd never heard some of the openings before, so YouTube--yesterday, actually--was my first time finding and hearing them.

I have no other sources.

My opinions on the Japanese and English intros...

I usually have a problem with the Japanese intros. It feels as though they just threw a song in the background and have a movie play during. There's sometimes no real connection to what is on the screen and what lyrics are playing at the time. And frankly, I'm tired of love songs in Rockman X games...

The problem I have with the English intros are no lyrics at all. At least, they could have made some kind of phrase or poem at the beginning or ending of the song?

Rockman and Megaman 8 had a good intros. I'm pretty satisfied with both versions. I love Electrical Communication, but I also adore the English's jazz track (it fits with the rest of the game's soundtrack). I can't choose here...

For Rockman and Megaman X3, no contest here. The PS Japanese version rocks! The song also fits with the good animated action. I would have kinda liked no sound effects in the background, but hey, great work here. B)

Rockman X4's music almost fit. They could have fixed the timing (the music is sometimes "too fast" for the lack of action and "too slow" for the actiony parts). The song itself isn't all that great. The English version also has bad timing and, to add, barely a melody. No winner for this game...

Rockman X5's is the first victim of dropping a song in a clipshow. The song isn't all that great either. The English version kinda met the timing, but it sped up near the end and made the rest of the pictures drag out slowly. None win here... This does show a good contrast of music/mood choice for the same intro and I find that very interesting...

Rockman X6, I really like this into and that's not because it's the only intro this game's got. The only thing I would have changed was the background music to the karaoke version when the narrator is talking. The narrator's and singer's volumes seem to be conflicting. But the well executed song switch to "The Answer" at the end was great. I also liked that this intro didn't have a song all the way through. It helped create a "I'm-telling-a-story-here" feel.

Rockman X7's song already has a "problem" with tempo. Don't get me wrong, I really like the song, but whenever I hear it, it feels as though it should accompany a Ride Chaser chase themed intro, not what they did. (Speeding up, slowing down, speeding up, slowing down...) But considering this, it does fit the intro until the end. The pace falls apart when the pictures zoom past while the song is going steady. The English version is so-so. The beginning is good but it gets boring after hearing the melody the second time. Not much work was put into it. Both versions need working, but the Japanese version wins here.

Rockman X8's intro works very well. Now the video is the only thing needing tweaking here. They had a few weird picture choices that I would have replaced (ex- Why the Neutral Armor placed with the other side characters and main villain? I would have had it near the X montage or something...) I don't remember the English version's, if there was a different version, and I'm too lazy to get up and hook up my PS2 again in the back room. The Japanese version wins by default. ^^;

The Japanese version of Command Mission's intro makes me laugh. The song does not fit the intro and is out of place. The should have had this song as the ending theme and taken out completely that creepy song "Pieces" from the game (man, that WAS a creepy song...). The English version isn't good either. It's too subdued and boring. It was definitely not a completed piece of work. Yet again, disappointed with another game's intro...

I have to agree with you on most points, Breakman, though I did like X5's opening a lot.

Unfortunately, X8 didn't have an opening in the English version - and if they would have done it right, it deserved one. But of course, what are the odds of that?

I'm going to have to completely disagree with you on Command Mission.
