That was good, I used to think the same thing, but know I see, that even though it has it's issues, the system does have some great games (Gears of War). I honestly don't know how to solve your problem though.

that is the very reason i keep my PS2 next to my PS3, because the PS3 has the same problem.

I don't own a 360, but I do recall seeing several lots for 360 patch disks on ebay. Something about backwards compatibility?
