I'm thinking of one in a SNES game called Skyblazer. Think it was about the fourth boss.

Jason bought it for me, heh.

Some of the hardest... hmm. Mizar of Jet Force Gemini was extremely difficult for me to beat. Sephiroth of KHII was also someone who gave me plenty of trouble. Thanks to mods and difficulty enhancers, Dagoth Ur from TES3: Morrowind has become an absolute nightmare.

And for me, the one that takes the cake would be... Necron of Final Fantasy IX, as I still have yet to beat the lousy S.O.B..
