The Elder Scrolls Series, which I am a huge fan of, is in my opinion one of the greatest RPG's ever, due to the amazing game play and sheer size of the games. I own morrowind and oblivion for the PC. Anybody else play these games? Also, recently Bethesda Softworks (the makers of the series) have purchased the domain name elderscrollsonline.com. Could this mean a possibility of an online elder scrolls game?

I have Morrowind, and its two expansions, Tribunal and Bloodmoon. They are possibly my favorite computer games at the moment, despite the frequency of problems I have with it. I'm definitely a fan of its construction set program, and of modding.

I'd like to get Oblivion, but not only do I think I don't have enough room on my computer to play it, if I did install it I'd never finish Morrowind. >.>

And no, actually, the way the Elder Scroll games are set up make online play impossible. It just won't work, as has been stated by developers in the past.

Yeah, I've played Morrowind with Tribunal and Bloodmoon, and Oblivion. My dad even dug up an old copy of Daggerfall.

I love the games, they're quite well done, and I love all the work they put into backstory and even random books that you find.

I also love that when I don't really have the time or patience to develop a character normally, it's easy to use the console to power up your character. So yes, in the Elder Scrolls games, I'm often a cheater. But only because it's really fun. =P

Actually in an interview with the developers of Bethesda I read somewhere (not sure, but I thing it was IGN) They said that an MMO was a natural step for the series to take, but wether or not it will have the same exactly gameplay as oblivion or morrowind is unknown. I also do have Tribunal and Bloodmoon, and about 100 Mods installed for it, along with Oblivion (not quite as many yet), but if your computer can handle it and has enough space, oblivion is well worth buying, even after you run out of things to do in the game (which could happen somewhat quick) theres still tons of mods for the pc version. While oblivions combat is way better, and the world seems much more realistic than morrowind, it does get a little boring exploring the endless forest, as they are all pretty much the same, as are the dungeons. Morrowinds story is also better from what I've gotten through in it. Oblivions isn't quite as good. It's still a blast while it's fun though.

Oh, I know Oblivion is worth buying. I just don't have the space or the money. >.> But, I'm enjoying Morrowind as it is.

As for the MMORPG bit, yes I know its possible, but they'd have to completely redesign the game engine and how it was built. The current engines for Morrowind and Oblivion make online play impossible. You'd have to make a completely new engine for an online Elder Scrolls.

And if you did that, you'd have something more addicting than World of Warcraft. >.>

Oh, morrowind is a great game still, I actually dusted off my disk and started playing again tonight, I hardly ever do the main quest though, I just come up with my own storyline for the game pretty much. Thats what I love about the series. You can do whatever, whenever, whyever (is that a word?)

Oblivion is very pretty, with laughable content. It is highly overrated and is a poor excuse for an RPG.

Now that Bethesda has a hold on the Fallout franchise, I weep for Fallout 3.

Ya know, if it were an MMORPG, so many people would have a chance to be an asshole, really. Such as the quest to track this one lady, witch takes like an hour. Just before your done...

TWANG! She gets killed by some retard with a bow. Yeah she's only unconscious, but as soon as she's back up, TWANG! Dead again. Then people would get pissed and yeah...bad stuff.

Also the dark brother hood wouldn't be worth it...so much frustration. Two guys after him at the same time...lol conflict.

I owned Daggerfall at one point, but the damn thing was so buggy that playing it was frustrating at times.
