Is this game really worth getting? I'm just curious because it looks kind of cool, but the new look of the battle system seems a little confusing and a little "blah" if you will. :hehe:

The battle system is confusing? >________>
How did you ever survive in battle network?
More specifically, he said it SEEMS confusing. Judging from the fact that he's asking, I'm going to assume that he hasn't had the chance to try it.
Unfortunately, neither have I, so I am just as useless as Teej's answer was. However, I seem to recall that Teej is quite fond of the game?

Trust me, I'm a big fan of the battle network series, but the battle layout is a little different (not much, you're just looking in a different direction), but I guess I just wouldn't be used to it.

Fine, I suppose I can make a legit answer...geeeeeeeeeez. >__>
The system is a more simplified version of BN. You move from side to side. You get a lock on feature (So you can jump in front of an enemy to sue a sword or the like) and a shield (Press the Y button)
The battle system is really dumbed down, but it actually goes at a faster pace then BN, and it just feels...I dunno...better in 3d.
The battle engines in Battle Network and Star Force are definitely different. In Battle Network, you have to plan your moves, avoid attacks and strike when you can. In Star Force, you have to track the enemy's movements, block attacks and strike as soon as you have an opening. These are some key differences that aren't as obvious when you haven't played both series at least a bit.
On my end, I prefer the Battle Network engine: not because of the perspective, but because it feels more strategic as a whole. You can move around a lot more, panels break and require you to come up with a new strategy... You fight on an equal ground with the enemies. In Star Force, you're stuck with that only row while the opponents have 5. It's just not as fun.
