All right, there you have it people! Here\'s the long-awaited backstory to the name of \"S.S. Calmwaters\", used as this message board\'s secondary name. Hollow, please correct me if I got anything wrong (you know this story pretty much as well as me).
It goes back to the first week of January 2002. Slash, over at the now defunct Megaman Outpost, had just gotten a new message board. He was giving a period of a week of transition. While everyone was moving at the new board, those who had bookmarked the older board\'s URL could still go there and post, since a single forum had been kept active. I encountered problems accessing the new board, so I spent the night and the following day on the old one. Quickly enough, Slash got to me and gave me access to the new board, but I continued posting on the old board as well, just for fun. There were only a handful of people there, some of them being registered here (Hollow being an example). Over the course of the days following the change of board, Hollow took unofficialy the lead as a joke, telling newbies still registering there to \"get off my ship\".
Since we were all acting as if we were on some kind of boat, we decided to give it a name. Since it was meant to go down in a matter of days, we decided to go by the name of \"S.S. Doomed Assman\". We then moved on naming other boards that we knew. Since my board was rather quiet at the time (that was before the Great Crash), I decided to call it the \"S.S. Calmwaters\". Back then, the board in use was the Ikonboard 2.19, and I gave it that subtitle. Later on, when I installed the XMB we\'re currently using, I decided to put the name in the board logo. And that\'s where we are today
