OH GOD MEGAMAN MMO KILL IT KILL IT DEAD!

The only time I visit YouTube without being linked to it is to watch a music video. Although some "being linked"s may come from subscription e-mails. Or of course if I'm looking at what the guy I want to marry is watching.

Also, YouTube is now officially a steaming pile of crap. That seems to be a trend in websites these days. "Make an interesting website, or at least a non-interesting one that is the best in it's class, wait until about 2 years after it is "THE ONLY WEBSITE1" for this type of thing, then redesign the entire site to make it shitty, unusable, extremely difficult to use useful or interesting features (or remove them) and add a bunch of extra, retarded stuff that either kills your computer or prevents the page from loading as quickly as usual; this way you can put up the biggest piece of shit ever made but still have millions of users because they all thought the site was fine when it was actually a semi-decent one." Must murder formula-makers.

Fast food is Subway, obviously. Nothing tastes better at it isn't MADE OF GREASE.

Arby's used to be good. I think they changed the beef. They also cut 10% off all their sandwiches and increased the price to make it impossible for anyone to afford. I still like the food, though. Well most of it.

Also Buona Beef.

By the way SIT DOWN RESTAURANTS AND PIZZA PLACES ARE NOT FAST FOOD :O.

AVATAR IS AMAZING Pagan blue things with 3D rocks. The only problem is the theater lied to us, it said Navy Pier IMAX and charged about $7 extra, which is a hell of a fucking lot, AND IT WASN'T EVEN IMAX IT WAS JUST SOME RETARDED 3-D GLASSES!! Who in the hell would pay extra for THAT who isn't rich??!? I couldn't complain and get my money back because i was with someone... I was really pissed about them saying IMAX. WTF ILLEGAL.

X, what you say about the story makes you 100% completely insane. The story was extremely original regardless of the fact that the "basic line" is well-used, even recently, and who in the hell would enjoy a movie just because it has good art and effects? They have books for that; you can't really stare at any piece of art while actually watching a movie... if the story really sucked, no one would have liked the movie at all (well except comedies, but that's not here).

I'm also not sure what you mean by "still", considering this was James' movie from 11 years ago.

For Christmas? 1) Why would you assume that a majority of people in the board recognize Christmas? Isn't that kind of rude? 2) I don't particularly recognize Christmas but people around me do and they also don't know that I don't; regardless, I did the same things about December 20th - January 3rd or whatever.

It also seems rather amazing how many people JUST NOW got a Wii, considering that Wii games are talked about as much as any other games on the internet.

I am unique.

If that wasn't clear, Unique is my "one word". Nothing else would be accurate.

For that matter, this is a good discussion topic on a board where nobody actually knows each other through their posts, and should be it's own topic instead. At least with the way people responded to it it should be.

Who the fuck is Mike Judge and why would anyone be interested in following the creator of Beavis & Butthead or Family Guy o_O?

Of course I've been to jail. I like to (mostly) follow the law (one exception). Anyone that likes to follow the law will be repeatedly arrested, in America anyway. If your vocal about it that will apply in any white country. So yeah if you ever find out how the legal system works (and you don't live in a country that's considered an "evil dictatorship", which I'm pretty sure we have no such members on this board), then just remember you're at a high risk if you actually try to follow it. A few years of research while still doing the same illegal things the rest of the country does and pretending to be ignorant about them ONE HUNDRED PERCENT AND COMPLETELY would probably be worth it, until you can find out how to quickly be 100% prepared. (any hit that you know what is and isn't illegal could possibly work against you once you decide to act on it.)

Necro... exactly the answer I expected :P.

"COULD E.T life ... dwell somewhere?"

Obviously it COULD, or you wouldn't have asked for such a topic as a discussion. And, on a slightly different meaning, yes it could, because plenty of it does, right here on Earth. And yeah it's pretty unlikely that a place that as far as we know is INFINITE has one species capable of sharing knowledge with each other but no others, anywhere, ever. For that matter life on Mars was verified some time ago, as well.

BD, Uh, since the question was have you ever BEEN TO JAIL, then it doesn't count unless you have been to jail.

Pretty sure drunk line-walking tests are no longer legal, unless used after you refused the breathalyzer.

Uh... it's also a legitimate arrest for drunk driving if you weren't driving, so yeah... didn't notice that one O_O.

Mine = cat, fairly obvious connection. In reality if given a real choice, I don't know. I would have to figure out which animals have the traits I(abilities) I wan,t, won't get eaten, and could help me accomplish my goals of having (using) any abilities.

Okay and the GameCube is a dolphin how? What?

wtf is a trilobite?

Huhwut? How is that medieval?

South Park, first episode I ever saw, which was from the first season, wasn't that funny. I guess it must have been the 2nd & 3rd seasons or so that were ABSOLUTELY FRICKIN' HILARIOUS, then the next time I got to see South {Park]/i] years later it wasn't really funny at all. This was around the time of the [i]Terrance & Philip movie episodes. Of course, there are still many funny parts, but it definitely isn't worthy of it's following anymore (which, I tend to believe it has due to the HILARITY of the earlier episodes). The Simpsons has followed a similar pattern, but the difference is The Simpsons wasn't originally intended as a comedy really (regardless of the fact it came from SNL), so that is different then South Park and can probably be blamed on less-funny writers. It is also not really funny at ALL now; I watch it merely out of habit, whereas South Park can still have many funny parts in some episodes.

Arkane, I wasn't aware you weren't American... Comedy Central's website has every episode of South Park ever. But I'm not sure how a LINK could "not apply in another country". Unless it's China. I doubt they have access to Interordi :O. Apparently they have two seasons each year, 'cause South Park certainly wasn't around when I was 11!

How is the original Star Wars not shitty? (OMG, so many trouts!)

"Why do you think there were so many Egyptian gods?"

Uh... why specifically Egyptian? What about Greek, Roman, Norse, Druidic, Irish, Hindu, and especially modern Pagan who has more gods then any other religion in existence since EVERY god that was EVER conceived of is a god, in general, an therefore applies to Pagans?

Alternatively, there are some traditions that believe that not only does EACH object in existence have it's OWN god, but LITERALLY every objects... for example, there is not just a god of rocks, but EACH rock has it's OWN god; not just a god of computers, but EACH computer has it's OWN god... so again what's with the Egypt thing, here?

The same people who wouldn't play any Wii games because it's graphics aren't on par with the PS3 and Xbox 360. :) And hey, I mostly liked 2012 because of the extreme level of special effects used.

The GameCube's internal name, when it was in development, was "Dolphin". :) Proof of that is still seen on any Nintendo-manufactured part for the system: the hardware code begins with "DOL". For example, my Wavebird controller's code is "DOL-004".

Many movie or TV watching sites (official ones, anyway) are blocked for viewing by people from foreign countries. This is a simple (but annoying) matter of license rights. The block is done by IP addresses: if your IP is from another country, then your access is defined.

For example, in Canada we've got Tou.TV. If you look at the list of TV shows available, you'll see some entries with a green dot at the end of the time. Those series can be seen from any country, while the others are limited to Canada only.

Sorry, I'm still having a good chuckle at the notion that Avatar's story is "original". Is it played well? Yes. Is it fun? Yes. Is it primarily a feat for the eyes? Yes.

But at the end of the day, the story is essentially Ferngully/Pocahontas in space. That's not a difficult claim to make and it hardly makes me "insane".

That said, it was a good movie, well worth seeing.

EDIT: And as for how the original Star Wars wasn't shitty... well, there's quite a few reasons. Truth be told, I wasn't aware that there were a lot of reasons that it was shitty.

YouTube does this occasionally; I've never known of any other site which does this (and actually has it function). At one point the various computers I used almost always registered as coming from China. And considering how China censors the entire internet, I'm not entirely sure if these country-blocking things work properly. but in any case, if the show itself puts the episode online, as is the case with South Park, then I doubt there would ever be an issue about not wanting people to watch it in certian countries.

The IP on this computer correctly registers as coming from Palatine, or occasionally as being from Lake Zurich 5 miles away, on any site that I have seen reporting it. The shows on that site played for me with or without the green dots (loaded INSTANTLY too, which is an extreme rarity on this computer... they should share their methods with other sites).

I didn't say the basic plotline was original. The movie overall, however,m is extremely original. None of the movies you mentioned has any Pagan elements at all, plus they are both generic (no individual character development that make the character "non-generic"). <---improper rendering

Star Wars is extremely dull, and even some of it's major fans (the ones I personally know anyway, who participate in websites designated solely for that purpose and name their D&D characters after Star Wars characters) agree that it was popular in the 70's solely because of it's "amazing" special effects and because it was about spaceships, which was fairly original at the time. If you look at old episodes of The Twilight Zone and even Outer Limits (old ones) in many cases (though it's better), you can see that the storyline there, in book form, would be like, "He was a business man, and most of his life involved his work [end of describing the character's traits]. One day he he saw an alien outside his house. At first he thought it was a shadow. He wondered what to do. Then he did this. Then this happened. Then he did some more stuff." as opposed to "The vibrant colors confused him. He remembered [a previous scene where someone told him something important]. He thought of [other characters in which many many pages have been spent developing the relationships in an interesting an detailed way]." etc. Comedies were also simple (Leave It To Beaver). Perhaps the movies of the time were like the Twilight Zone episodes of the time, and had no story or character development, and therefore Star Wars was great solely because it told an actual story with actual character motivations and such - to some degree, though not to a huge degree, anyway. If so, that might explain why people actually liked it, THEN. But I don't know about now (or 30 years ago). Major fans of the movies will also agree that it had horrible acting. I always wanted to watch them (well, since becoming a geek anyway) and finally got the chance to a couple of years ago. They just weren't very interesting. When I pointed this out to Stephen, a major Star Wars fan who dislikes the new ones, said he agreed that the acting was horrible (only once I pointed it out), but continues to love the series because he already likes it. Anything with horrible acting is going to bad, even if it's the greatest story ever, because the actors have to make the story, if it's a movie.

For some reason I thought that was Kia posting...

The nature-as-god spiritual elements didn't bring to mind Pocahontas or stereotypes of Native American belief systems to you in any way?

Quote:

Because hot-headed Idiot Hero Jake Sully totally wasn't a generic stock character. At all. Nope.

And here we go. Since pretty much everything follows from this comment, I'll just head off the river here. This is a subjective comment. I happen to disagree with it strongly. So yeah, there you go.

As for the acting, it was a little campy at times, but it's rather a stretch to call it horrible. That you think the original Star Wars movies had horrible acting, simply makes me doubt that you've actually seen any truly awful movies. Like Plan 9 from Outer Space (So Bad It's Good) or Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever (So Bad It's Awful).

Um... no. The Nintendo Revolution was the code name for the Wii, not the Gamecube. It was called that up until April 27, 2006, at which point the name of the console was revealed and people began to complain and joke about the name.

Plus their upcoming album is called the Final Frontier. I don't like the sound of that name. What if this is it?
