Mega X.exe speaks some truth, my main heritage is german. ;)

Irish are also known for drinking, A raised hand from here. I also have some Irish in me.

Plus, Many Americans will find any reason to party anymore, because of their family history or for the heck of it.

New discussion!?...

Despite being buzzed with alcohol, something crossed my mind.

Injuries, what do consider to be your best/worst injuries? I myself, have been attacked by a wolfdog with over 25 stiches. My worst injury.

My nose has been broken and slashed numerous times, despite the damage, I still have a keen sense of smell.

As a child, I was bitten by a very territorial dog belonging to an older girl friend when said dog got out by accident. I saw her running down the sidewalk and I bolted, but the dog was faster and nailed me in the thigh. Luckily it only bit me once and didn't break the flesh, but it still hurt like hell.

I often wind up with injuries when snowboarding. The worst one I got was a high ankle sprain that screwed up my ability to walk for a while; I came off the lift wrong and my board got caught between the ground and the lift chair, twisting it all the way around almost to the breaking point. The doctor said that I'd have been better off if I had broken it; I'd have healed faster if I had. During the recovery, when I finally got off the crutches, I stepped on it wrong and screwed it up again to the point where I needed a cam-boot. Due to the length of time I spent with the injury, I lost the coordination in my walking and could no longer walk a straight line without watching where I was stepping. Hell, I still have to at times.

And the very worst thing about that injury? Everyone else was killing themselves on the slopes that night so the hospital was overbooked on patients. They ran out of room, and I ended up getting stuck in a gynecologist's examination room, and one of the nurses came up with a shit-eating grin and asked me if I needed an ultrasound. I swear, if I had the ability to walk, I'd have slapped that woman silly.

Ouch RD. Ouch.

I have a permanent limp, its slight, but its there. I don't know how I did it, but it hurts anywhere from a tidbit to excruciating when I walk. It's only my right ankle/foot that hurts though, haha.

I bashed my face off my nightstand when I was 8, hit my mouth so hard my two front teeth actually started to slant towards each other. I've since had braces so it's not as noticeable anymore.

I ran around outside with a toothbrush in my mouth when I was 6 or 7, and fell right on top of it. It gouged out almost a half an inch of flesh off the top of my mouth. Thus, my mouth is taller than most people =P
I don't remember any of it, but my Mother told me I had blood coming out from my nose, mouth and even the sides of my eyes.

I burned myself with a fryer basket while at work a couple years ago, that hurt a shit ton. Also dropped fresh-off-the-burner gravy all over the top side of my thumb, where it connects with the nail. Lucky I didn't lose my nail.

While Tobagganing while I was 9 I fell off the sled and my entire ribcage and under hit the trunk of a tree full force. Surprisingly wasn't hurt that bad.

I can continue, but I won't. xD

Oddly enough, I've never actually BROKEN a bone, or had a sprain bad enough to have medical attention.

RD, your snowboarding accident sounds awful just thinking about it.

I, myself, have never broken a bone. But I do still have a few "memorable" injuries.

When I was 3, I remember getting some of my toes shut in a car door. The door actually shut, and I remember trying to get up on the seat, pulling on my leg more before I looked back a realized what had happened. I screamed my head off. I remember it not hurting so much as it freaked me out.

When I was about 6, I was biking at tremendous speed without any brakes and I crashed into the gate leading to my backyard. I'm not sure what happened exactly, but after I got back up after being thrown off my bike, I tried to walk, and I noticed my leg was hurting in a certain spot. When I looked, I noticed a huge chuck of skin missing from my shin, and I distinctly remember being able to see my shin bone. It was messed up, just being able to see it like that.

That actually reminds me of another time involving my shin. The same time as the Ice Storm of 98', me and my friends were playing soccer just before school in a field covered with thick, broken ice all frozen to the ground. I tripped and my shin got impaled by a pointed ice shard frozen to the ground. I remember actually having to dismount my own leg up and off of the ice shard, and feeling the ice shard inside.

Another time, while I was skateboarding, I tried to do an ollie, but the board came straight up and hit me in the bottom lip. My lip basically got smashed between the board and my bottom teeth, which is what caused the inside to split open. Man, did it swell.

Worst has to be a tie. Right now, I have a separated shoulder from football that has basically eliminated my ability to use my right arm and made school impossible for the last two weeks. But, I broke my femur while snowboarding at Vail three years ago, and that was possibly the most excruciating break ever.

Awesomest has to go to the time I electrocuted myself by short circuiting a dc power supply in physics. My hair was standing on end for the rest of the day.

I haven't been involved in any catastrophic accidents yet, so I haven't had any broken bones or an excuse to use crutches. You could say that this is something to be experienced, but I'll do without for the time being. :)

The worse injury I can recall having happened back when I was in fourth grade. I missed the first step of the staircase at home, so down I went. The middle level had (and still has) a room heater with very shiny and pointy metal corners, which is where my back decided to stop it's fall. A trip to the emergency room later, where I supposed I'd be getting stitches, I ended up having the wound glued back into position by a doctor using some kind of blue medical glue. I was pretty much fine the next day, even though it hurt a bit for a while.

The new discussion...

How long do you think it will take, til man will walk on Mars?

If you ask me, That time is not to far off. I think it could happen within the 5-7 years. We have everything it takes to get out there, but Nasa along with other countries. Are afraid of lifting off.

Well, anyways...

I'd love to say 10 years, based on realistic figures and the current progress of research.

However, going with the political climate and the will of politicians of this time, I think it's more serious to go with 20 years at least. I hate to say that, but unless we suddendly get some sort of motivation (say, the Chinese decide to go there ASAP), I don't see it happening quickly.

What the Doc said. I don't really see anyone getting extremelly motivated (except the scientific community) about going there. I mean, Bush said the US would be going back to the moon in the near future and we haven't heard anything about that since.

We're not going on Mars anytime soon.

And on to the next...

Has anyone been to a concert? Who was the band? and so forth...

I myself have been to one, thier name is Ordinary K. They toured the Arkansas River, my home town of Salida, Colorado is among the river. I was front row, jamming out.

I may have a chance to go see and maybe meet, Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie here in Texas. Haven't bought ticket yet.

First one was a U2 concert. Second one was a Ice Cube/Snoop Dogg concert (Snoop SUCKS in concerts, I was falling asleep). Third one was an INXS concert and can't remember the last one I've been too.

Twice. Games in Concert 2, in 2008 with my two best friends, where amongst others a famous national pianist played self-composed Mario- and Zelda-inspired numbers while suffering from a broken ankle (he had to stop in the middle of the one based off something from Mario 64, received a standing ovation and got up with crutches to go away, then came back and finished them both because he damn wanted to finish that one - moment in my life I felt the utmost respect for a musician). Oh, and Frank Keplacki playing on his wicked sick-looking guitar with a rock band, playing the new Hell's March for Red Alert 3 that would come out the week after.

And Owl City last April the day before Sakura Con. Left after Fireflies because I thought the rest was kinda "meh" and I was still suffering from jetlag.

As a follow-up, I went to see Resident Evil: Afterlife today. I found it pretty enjoyable overall, although I still prefer the first and third ones. I've noticed a few bad CGI effects, and they abused the slowdown effect just a wee bit much, but it was a fun, action-filled movie. As RD said, it definitely looks like we'll be getting a fifth one!

What would you say is your favorite Walt Disney Cartoon?

I myself have always enjoyed 'Oliver and Company'. Billy Joel does the voice of a Jack Russel Terrier. Cheech Maren does the voice of a Chihuahua. My favorite line of all time comes from the movie, Cheech says, "If this is torture, chain on the wall." He says it as he takes a drag from a cigar in a rish persons home.

Considering Oliver and Company is a full-length animated film: yes.

For me? Aladdin. Liked the movie, but the cartoon made it even better and upped the awesome and humour by a good margin.

I also quite like Lilo and Stitch. And now I remember that I'd like to rewatch Atlantis and see Atlantis II...

I saw some episodes of it when I was younger. It had a noticeably lowered quality of animation due to a lower budget, but kept a similar type of humor and introduced new characters to keep things varied. I never really got into it for some reason that I don't know myself.
